I'm a lifetime natural but also combat veteran whose disabled. I got seriously wounded in an ambush and I have limited excercise, weight and range of motion in my leg and back. The RP training and your videos have helped me tweak my workouts so I can make gains despite my limitations. Yeah it's great to train hard heavy etc and most of your audience is probably looking for that but someone like me finds these videos so helpful on a whole different level. I greatly appreciate your content.

I"m almost 45 years old now and I've been training since I was 16. I'm 5'-5", 175 lbs and can bench 405 for 6-8 reps. This was due to the old school mentality that more was always better. No Pain No Gain! However, I wake up every morning now with some kind of pain. It takes me forever to recover now and my body can't do certain exercises anymore due to risk of injury, limited range of motion, and wear and tear on my body over the years of heavy lifting and improper form. Does Seth understand that his genetics are better than 99% of people? That's why his 4 exercises are enough for him. I started seeing visible (better) results after I adopted the training of Mike Israetel and that was after years of training. I feel the muscle I train better, I feel safer and I get better results. That's my experience and I used to train hard with more weight, but it's just not ideal.

Seth doesn't have better genetics in training, what Seth has is a better understanding of his own body mechanics and training intensity. Thats what it takes to get to Seth's level. Half the people that comment on YT that say their don't get results also say they train "hard and intense". Doing everything right. If you go to any gym there's a hundred people that after years have no results. They're picking up heavy weights, but they're not going hard, they're not intense. Those are the same people commenting on videos. I've had kids come up to me asking to train with me and they absolutely HATE my training style. It's literally 3 exercises for each body part and only 1 working set. Then they immediately say it's steroids. I've never done. I know what works for me and been doing it for almost a decade

Plus I've packed on well rounded muscle gains from full range of motion and controling the weight under tension. The weight I use for each exercise has dropped because I need that control. The weight on my lifts has dropped and my muscle mass has increased (how could that be possible 😂). Speaks for itself. Keep up the content bro you are a pioneer and a massive inspiration 👍

I started completely atrophied after cancer treatment so naturally my focus has always been recovery hypertrophy training. At one point I couldn't curl 5 pounds without being sore for days. Never lifted heavy in my life and became one of the biggest guys in my gym using simple science backed hypertrophy training concepts. I've watched many channels throughout the years and narrowed it down to 3 main channels, my coach Damien Patrick, Renaissance Periodization, and Eric Janicki. When I found Eric it was like hearing my own thoughts come out of another person. We train exactly the same, his novel exercises are outstanding after I already mastered the basics the past 10 years. If I had time for a UA-cam channel I have a few I think he'd like too.

    Hi Eric!
Big fan here and I am fully in support of long muscle length training but unfortunately I have to call you out on the physics part.
The maximum lever length is actually when your humerus is parallel to the ground at the elbow is at its maximum horizontally projected distance from the shoulder.
That isn't the reason why the exercise gets harder as you stretch, it is about passive insufficiency due to decreased cross bridge formation as there is less actin and myosene that can connect when the muscle is stretched a lot.

This is great information. The way Eric uses the word “explosively” is probably slightly inaccurate, however. Of course concentrics should be performed explosively and athletically. Hopefully we can all agree on that. But the tempo, the controlled eccentrics, the stretches, and the pauses are also important. I think the word Eric means is that we shouldn’t train “ballistically.” Which would imply that the entirety of the exercise is done quickly and explosively and not just the concentric

Tren Twins tore the pec cuz of heavy low rep weight on barbell bench, happens so often, especially since the reason behind half the tear is steroids drying it out, they also wear arm wraps to bump the weight up even more and put it all on the chest, they still train like they’re in football not like a body building contest

First time I saw this guy training (via Mike, of course), I said “this is the future of bodybuilding.”
He’s applying the “long range” principles that people like Ben Patrick knew about before the current hypertrophy research caught on.
For most of these guys “the basics,” as they call the moves, are trash. Half-range squats, conventional deadlifts, half-range bench press. Ok, not “trash”, because “no movement is bad,” but each move needs serious reconsideration before calling them basics.
There’s a reason Janicki’s mobility is better than any of the guys commenting on him.

They love to sook about others, thats their podcast. Sooking harder than last time. Great response and valid points you made. Nippard is the worst example of training using science, because he doesn't train hard and doesn't even understand the "science" as he gets caught up in the minutia of the study, which often is poorly done or with noobie participants. Eugene Teo just did a great video on the science of studies and showed the videos of the participants in the study mentioned by Nippard/Wolf etc recently showed what a poor study it was. You teach great methods and I use your style often in training, ensuring Time under tension for longer, consistant and train to very close to failure/failure/beyond failure with partials and have great results. Thank you for being a great mentor.
