    We, my husband and I are thinking about living elsewhere for 6 months of the year. We are retired and came across a wonderful Norman Regust from the Walking Dead, who traveled to Paraguay and found it such a beautiful country both in culture and land. Could you give us a dollar price on rent for a decent neighborhood or condo. Can you drink the water from the tap or do you have to buy bottled? Do they have hospitals? Thank you for answering these questions for me. I really appreciate it.

    • @paradiseinparaguay7714
      @paradiseinparaguay7714  4 роки тому +13

      Hi Yvonne,
      In the suburbs, decent places to rent can be as low as about $200-400 per month (some places even lower) and of course some a lot higher, depending on the neighborhood. Countryside living is even more affordable. It's recommended to drink bottled or filtered water in general but I've cooked with the tap water before and I've drank it in minimal amounts and have not ever gotten sick. Our personal main source of water in our home is filtered though. And they absolutely have hospitals here, both public and private. I can't think of a single country that has zero hospitals...
      Anyways, I gave birth to my daughter here and actually had a better experience here than in the U.S. I made a video where we talked all about it. It's called "Yes, we had a baby here".
      Hope that helps, thanks for watching!!

    • @yvonnecreekbaum8918
      @yvonnecreekbaum8918 4 роки тому +4

      @@paradiseinparaguay7714 Thank you for that information regarding the hospitals. Both myself and my husband's health is not the greatest and we need to find doctor's in the area for our chronic needs. Also, I don't know if you will know this or not, but can we bring our dog? Will they have to quarentine him for 3 months or will his vet papers be proof enough that he is in good health and without illness. This is probably the most important question I need to ask. He is our furry child which I'm sure you all can relate to.

I stand corrected, if that is not the case. Seriously looking into Paraguay. I believe that Paraguay has the greatest potential for growth and have secured basic resources such as food, water and electricity. So even if cut off from everyone, it will continue to thrive. Now and forever♥

    • @paradiseinparaguay7714
      @paradiseinparaguay7714  Рік тому +2

      Hi Miguel, great! Because we chose to live in a city outside of Asunción, which saves us more money, we can't recommend a specific area to live in but in general, yes Asunción is safe, as is the whole country, especially compared to where we're from! You just have to exercise normal common sense caution, the same way you would anywhere, to not be a target of theft. And as far as violent crime, it's very low.

      Hi Faye! Thank you!😘🥰 And yes, its very hot and humid here most of the year, (90s and low 100s) although there's a little break from the heat during the winter months (70s, 80s...still warm then, I know, lol!) No, we haven't experienced any racism, that garbage isn't really here, if it is, we haven't seen it in our personal lives. In fact, people gravitate to us positively and tell us how beautiful we are, skin and hair wise in particular!! We absolutely love that!😍 As far as the negative side of being here, one of the quick answers is the lack of infrastructure in some, (not all) areas, but on the flip side, a lot of areas are very nice and the roads are pretty well kept, especially in Asunción...
      But if you want the FULL scope about everything you asked about and more, you can always request a consultation via our email at paradiseinparaguay@gmail.com. That's how we've helped a lot of people already!

    I will be visiting for a couple of months in feb and March... to check out the country/people/and general viability. I am an old fart and have my retirement, and while its not enough to "thrive" in places like N. Y. Cal. or trendy places like Seattle,Denver,etc........it is far more than adequate from what I gather to live comfortably there. Im born/raised in Houston(the Chicago of the South) so being shot at is "no big deal" .My ex wife is a Philippina and after my Viet Nam thing, I lived in the Phils for several years. As you likely know also, Houston has gators,tornadoes,torrential rains, lots of venomous snakes, and dont forget hurricanes, tons of carjackings, home invasions. Also, its hotter than a crotch and the Cops here have no "love" for us old white-boys. I think you kids made a good choice for your family. Very attractive family . This is just my intro message. Can I bend your ear in the future for more info? blessings amigos.....

      Hi Rob, thanks for your comment. We believe we made a great choice as well. We just wanted to be somewhere where the environment is generally calm, happy and safe.🤗 And yes, what you said about Houston is typical for a lot of big cities in the U.S. We definitely know about those types of crimes, especially being from the "D" (Detroit). That was yet another thing we were happy and thankful to get away from, as was mentioned in our video entitled "Why we moved out of the U.S.". Anyways, to answer your question, yes, questions can be left here in the comment section but as most people can tell, we're not on here as often as a lot of other UA-camrs, so we can't promise to always respond, but we'll try. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!☺️

    An excellent video. It is nice to see people having civic pride. America was more like that at one time. I do wish you would be a little more specific with regard to housing prices and other prices. Of course the prices will be lower, but roughly by how much? Also, how much money did you go down there with? In saw condo prices in Asuncion, and, while they weren’t NY or San Fran prices, they were still fairly expensive.
    EDIT: I posted this comment before the very end of the video.

      Thank you! Yes, America sure was this way a long time ago. Also, in the video, we did mention as well as put into text that the general costs of things here can be as low as a 1/3 of the cost of the same thing in the States (some things might even be 1/2 the cost). We specifically mentioned cable services when we spoke about the price of monthly bills and said that its around $20/month while in the States, similar service packages are about $100 or more per month. That was just a quick example just to put things into perspective.
      This was not a cost of living video so we purposely didn't expound on everything for this reason. As far as housing though, there is a HUGE price range on that and Asuncion is definitely not the only nor the best city to look for the lowest pricing. Its the most developed city so naturally, some condos or houses will be quite expensive. But on the other hand, there are also plenty of inexpensive housing choices both in and outside of the capital Asuncion. As we mentioned in the video though, we do plan to further discuss cost of living in the near future.

      All islands and coastal zones were automatically eliminated mainly due to very high risks of tropical storm devastation and any place with any seismic activity was also eliminated. The DR is comprised of both. Geographical safety was and is first and foremost to us before we looked at anything else.
      Now we'll VISIT a beautiful island and enjoy a beautiful resort any day, during the right season of course, lol! In fact, we already have visited several islands, including the DR more than once...but to choose to live there or any island for that matter? That was an easy no...for us.

      Hi there! We can speak some spanish...and my husband works in carpentry for himself here, he also works a job he has in the States whenever we visit there and I'm a proud homemaker as I no longer need to work outside of the home.🤗🤗🤗
      I would suggest visiting here at least once, especially in the summer, to make sure you can handle the heat.

      Hmmmm, let's see, lol...the drama with the drug trafficking pipeline for one!! We don't have time for that cartel mess! (If you know, you know!) Not to mention, too much American influence (in the cultures of many of those countries), the HIGH likely hood of hurricanes and ocean level rise (yes, a real thing!), and a lot of those countries are amongst the Pacific ring of fire!🔥 No thank you!!
      People, do your research in ALL aspects, not just cost of living! PEACE matters!💖👍

    Is there a lot of places to go hiking in Paraguay? I’m thinking like National Parks! 🏞🥾 I also like to go to the gym and lift weights. Is there any good gyms there in Asunción. I’m retired, could I live in Paraguay on $1,500 USD per month a single guy?. Is there English bookstore or libraries where you can get books in English. 📚 😊👍🏻👍🏻

      Hi Christopher! Absolutely YES to the first 3 questions! As far as the last question, we haven't seen or heard of any English bookstores or libraries so we're not sure. But I wouldn't count on it. Everything, for the most part, is in Spanish or Guarani (the other official language here.) Not to say it's impossible to come across any English literature, its just probably not an easy find.
