Initially raw denim does stain shoes, especially those made from suede. They've even stained my boxers before. Once they've been soaked once or twice, they won't stain as much. So you could consider soaking them at the beginning. Otherwise, I heard some people line the inside cuff with some tape. It sounds like that would help.
Very minimally. About 1/2inch in the waist even after 2 years. I would actually recommend sizing up for the UB101. They fit on the smaller side. I normally wear 32s, but I bought 33s and they're still snug. See my earlier Unbranded review.
How could anyone go buy 500 jeans after seeing the TOP QUALITY FADES THEM 88 DOLLAR jeans turned out wow..other Japanese brands are prob embarrassed, honestly those look better than SOME too price brands
Yeah, I understand. I think you'd want the Skinny guy. Leg opening is pretty small, my size 33 measures like 7.3 across. It depends on what size you wear though. Check out APC Petit Standards too!
Sorry for the late reply, I recommend either going 30 or 31. Urbanoutfitter has free returns, so I would order both, and return the one that doesn't fit. Yes, they are all the same length, so you choose just by size.
iv been wearing some of my jeans for over 10 years now and they still look brand new top notch not like your type of jeans just wear for 2 years and game over
true, i was thinking the same but i think that those raw denim jeans use mostly indigo paint and i guess that it will fade away faster compared to the "normal" jeans
The best way to check the quality of raw denim jeans is to put a cigarette out against them. If they are genuine raw denim it will not even leave a scorch mark. In the past, we always used our jeans as an ashtray when walking through dry grass or at a party where their were no ashtrays.
i have some 6oz selvedge naked and famous. i dont fit in them though. i wish i did because they are so awesome. perfect for summer or cali but yea, i generally look for sub 11oz denim and 11oz and above for winter.
Check out my previous review. (Link in description). I stopped wearing these though. I did a hot soak, and they're too tight now haha. (They were tight to begin with, plus, I put on a few pounds). What kind of fit do you usually like? (1. Skinny all around, or 2. Slim top with taper to cuffs)
Hmm. If this is your first pair, and you're unsure if you want to get into raw denim, or don't want to spend $150, then I would highly recommend Unbrandeds. If money isn't really an issue, get N&F. Quality is slightly better (made in Canada), and there's more variety.
No, never got mine hemmed. I normally wear 30-32", but these, I just let it stack. Try to get an exchange, UO should help you out since it's their fault. Let me know how it turns out.
I've never worn them with boots, but they never stained my Sperry or Wallabees. They'll stain canvas or suede though. You can do a pre-soak to lessen indigo transfer, or even tape the inside cuff. Btw, Volumes 8)
For the first pair, I would definitely recommend the Unbrandeds. The fit depends on what you're looking for. They have straight, skinny, or tapered. Awesome jeans, especially for $70.
I just bought a pair of the straight fit from the UO website. I love the fit but It seems like the wash may be a darker rinse the new pair you have in this video. I'm looking for more of a cobalt/indigo wash than a darker rinse. Do you think they changed their wash or is it just different lighting that makes them look "bluer" in your vid?
I'm 99% sure its the same wash, just a matter of lighting. They look much darker in real life than what the video shows. They'll lighten up over time. If you want to take a chance, a pre-soak should help it out a little.
Hey man and thanx ! How do I keep them looking super dark like they are when you’re first pull them outta the bag . How to keep them looking dark and new?????????
I picked up a pair of tapered unbranded jeans and yesterday was my 3 month point. I have been looking at before And after pictures of unbranded and almost all of them (like yours) are Amazing. Are there any tips on making them have nice fades or anything like that?
Hey recently got a pair of 101s for Christmas. Maybe wore them for 3 full days. I recently got them shortened 2 inches and they are now perfect length. They're still a little baggy though. Would you recommend getting them tapered?
i am in the same situation as you right now, i haven't worn them yet, but i got them shortened. Guess i'll just get them altered a little. your thoughts?
Thanks for the reply... I prefer jeans being skinny all around, especially near the calf area. I want jeans that have a small opening at the legs so they crunch well on my kicks. Which would you recommend? Also open to other brands
so i wear dark denim pants and normally a light denim jacket with that. I'm not very interested in getting jeans to fade( in order to avoid the canadian tuxedo look) but i think i want the quality of selvage denim. should i buy selvege or just get cheaper jeans instead
My Unbrandeds are size 33. I tried on the Petit Standards, and I would need a size 31. Hope that help. What I would recommend is to actually measure the waist of your Nudies and APCs.
Hi, I bought the UB301 and then exchanged them for the UB201 because they were too baggy. The UB201 is still kind of baggy; i am wondering if that will change after I wear them for a while or should I just exchange the UB201s for the 101s? Is there a big difference between the 201s and the 101s?
They're sized correctly? Personally, I have to size down 1 for UB201. If they're baggy already, size down, or get 101s. Denim tends to stretch after wear.
No, I don't think they do. I wear 30 inseam so I end up cuffing the bottom and letting it stack. Any local tailor can hem the jeans for you though, but you'd want to look for a denim specialist if you want a chainstitch hem. .
Hey man, wish I could help you out more, but it's just a Ralph Lauren belt that I bought a few years ago from my local TJMaxx for like $15. Check out Orion Leather Company though. I heard some really good things about them. www.orionleathercompany.com/1-1-2-Q-Tan-Bridle-Leather-Belt-Plain-p/40mmbqtandblloopl2686govblksnp.htm
How would you compare these to Levi's 510's? Similar in cut or no? I want the same exact skinny fit, but I never had a pair and can't really try these on, since there aren't any stores around my way that carries them!
Not really. 510's are skinny with a taper. These are more just skinny. You should check out Naked and Famous Super Skinny guy or APC New Cure. If you are in USA, you can buy from Urban Outfitters or Nordstrom. Since they have free returns, just buy 2-3 sizes and return the ones that don't fit. Hope that helps!
I want to cop a pair real bad but I am not sure about the sizing. The UO reviews are 50/50 on sizing up or staying true to size. The unbranded site says their 36 tag size has a waist size of 37.5 so I feel like i should be fine but im 36.5 with a muscular build. Would you suggest sizing up?
Yeah, sizing is pretty tricky. They changed sizing an year or 2 ago, which makes it even more confusion. When I got my pair 4 years ago, it was advised to size up 1. Now, I think you can go true to size. Best advice I can give you is to order from a website with free returns (eg. Nordstrom or UrbanOutfitters). Let me know how it turns out!
So how's the fit? What if ima bigger person but still want a fitting pair of jeans with a not so big or small leg opening how's the fit I usually wear a 36
Check out measurements (ie. on Unbranded's website, or retailer like Blue Owl). They fit skinny straight, so leg opening isn't too small. I did a more detailed review way back: Unbranded Selvedge Raw Indigo Skinny Denim UB101 Review and Fit @ 22 months
What size should I get if I'm a 30 waist and 32 in length? I don't understand the sizes on urban outfitters. Are these jeans all ones size in length and do I chose the size by my waist?
gwath42 i see no way near my area, even they don't have in hongkong, it's unfortunate for me, anyway i have to go to hongkong maybe ill try take5 jeans.
So the tags for the denim have really been confusing me on the UB website. I usually wear a 33 but according to the 33 tags, the waist is a 35. Im not sure if i follow the waist measurement or the tags. please help!
I'm looking for some tapered selvedge denim, i got the wierd guy fit but they aren't even that tapered, do you have any brands that may carry what I'm looking for? I know the apc kanye collaboration had some but their impossible to get! Please help!
Here's my detailed review: Unbranded Selvedge Raw Indigo Skinny Denim UB101 Review and Fit @ 22 months They were soaked 2x, and machine washed 2x (one hot water wash). Always hang dry.
I'm sick of all my pants getting holes when I do nothing to them! I have a pair of Hollister jeans that fit perfectly but the back pocket ripped for like no reason and a pair of urban pipeline (apparently some very cheap polo Ralph Lauren company) tore at both back pockets and the back 3 belt loops OUT OF NO WHERE!! so my question.. Do these hold up well? And do they face nicely? And what is the inseem because I wear a 30X32
They held up very well! I wore them like 4 days a week for over 14 months before they ripped at the crotch, which I had to get repaired. Definitely worth the investment. Unlike most jeans you find out there, raw denim will fade with wear, so you get something personalized. The inseam is fixed at 36". You'll need to get them hemmed, or wear them stacked or cuffed.
Andrew Chance : The reason why your back pocket on your Hollister jeans is because they suck! To be honest with you, selvedge denim is great, but you don't necessarily need to purchase selvedge denim to buy good denim that will fade nicely. I completely agree with the presenter of the video as far as Levi's 501's are concerned. It is absolutely true that Levi's 501 Shrink To Fit's are only 12.5 oz. denim. My best buy in denim was actually a pair of Wrangler 36 MWZ slim fit jeans (A newer model with lower deep front pockets and larger back pockets) in rigid, which translates to raw denim. I spent about $ 30.00 including shipping and handling for them on Shepler's website. Like the Naked & Famous, the 36 MWZ model jeans are also 14.5 oz denim, and like typical Wrangler jeans; have rivets showing on the back pockets. I kid you not! After 4 years of having those jeans and only wearing them on average about once a week, they have broken in and faded quite nicely. Very durable and sturdy as well (trademark broken twill). Having said that, the Unbranded denim selvedge jeans look very well put together. I also like that the back pockets sit high. I can't stand back pockets that are placed low.
Of course, I've only washed my Wrangler 36 MWZ's by hand with color safe liquid detergent, and have hung dried inside out. That makes a tremendous difference in appearance, durability and denim texture.
Lunatic4Bizcas thanks for the comment! I actually purchased a pair of N&F almost a month ago and I LOVE THEM! Best pair of pants I own. They fit me very well and feel like they could take a beating. I also like selvedge denim because I like cuffing my jeans and the selvedge makes it look cleaner.
Could u do an on person for the jeans? I'm unsure about the fits of the tapered and skinny. I was looking to get a pair but don't know which model to buy
Yes. The Skinny ones are 36", the Tapered ones are 34". They do this to keep production costs low, which keep prices lower for consumers. Many stores that sell them offer free hemming if you want them shortened (eg. Unbranded, Blue Owl Workshop... etc).
Making selvedge denim is a slower process, so they're not usually mass produced as quickly as the jeans you normally buy. Because of that, and to keep costs low, they keep them at 1 length. These Unbrandeds were 36". I'm only 5'8", so I end up cuffing once, and letting the rest stack. You could get them hemmed if you prefer.
I wouldn't size down at all. I actually went a size up. I believe they recently (ie. a few months ago) changed they're sizing. So I recommend finding measurements and figure your size out from there.
zetabyte99 Polo Ralph Lauren belt. I think I bought it at Marshalls a few years ago. I wear a Don't Mourn Organize belt now (www.dontmournorganize.com/)/
I wish their skinny jeans were actually skinny though. I like the fit of the Evisu 2021 but they are "stretch selvedge" and are only like 11oz. Anyone know how well they age?
James Benn Yeah, that's my main complaint with the Unbranded, wish they were a little more slim. They introduced a "Tight Fit" that might fit you better.
Making videos about chinese made jeans such as these is like shining shit and calling it gold. You can find the best handmade denim in the world in the good old u.s. of a for under a 100 dollars if you have any common sense at all
I'd recommend ordering true to size (for a skinny fit), or +1 (slim). They start out pretty stiff, but soften up after a few weeks.
Initially raw denim does stain shoes, especially those made from suede. They've even stained my boxers before. Once they've been soaked once or twice, they won't stain as much. No real tips, except wear them a lot lol. These were a 2 year commitment (except for hot summer days lol). I think you'll like the outcome.
I've never worn them with boots, but they never stained my Sperry or Wallabees. They'll stain canvas or suede though. You can do a pre-soak to lessen indigo transfer, or even tape the inside cuff. Btw, Volumes 8)

Awesome jeans, especially for $70.
You should check out the 21oz ones haha. They're only like $20 more.
Find a tape measurer, and actually measure your current jeans.
Your jeans crease behind your knees whenever your knees bend. The constant friction from creasing wears in your denim; therefore, fades are created.
Nice combs! I'm surprised that your stacks aren't more apparent though seeing that the inseam is a 36.

i am in the same situation as you right now, i haven't worn them yet, but i got them shortened. Guess i'll just get them altered a little. your thoughts?

I really want a pair of unbranded skinny's but i'm 5'7. do you think i could still cuff the jeans and get away with the 36" inseam?
For sure. I'm 5'8" and (I think) I got away with it 36". If it bothers you, just get them hemmed :)
Im 58 almost 59 and I cuff my jeans, keep doing things that make you look younger
I got a question about those selvedge jeans... did they dye over your sneakers? I'm scared that will happen if I buy one of 'em thanks.
Ive yet to try my fist pair of selvedge or raw denim jeans. Do you have any particular suggestions for me as i am quite interested in purchasing some.
Did you get yours hemmed? I got a pair from UO but instead of skinny's they sent me straights :(
do you know if urban can get these hemmed? i know that unbranded's website could hem them for you but they don't have the jeans in my size
So how's the fit? What if ima bigger person but still want a fitting pair of jeans with a not so big or small leg opening how's the fit I usually wear a 36

i've never ordered in sizes like this before, so what number do u think i am? and i love stiff raw denim. i want the stiffest i can get
So the tags for the denim have really been confusing me on the UB website. I usually wear a 33 but according to the 33 tags, the waist is a 35. Im not sure if i follow the waist measurement or the tags. please help!
Jchillin__ Measure the waist of your usual jeans and compare it to the measurements on UB website.
I prefer my jeans to have more of a carrot fit so they dont hang over my sneakers but still roomy in the thigh, which fit should i go for
+Longhorn4life32 look for the Tapered (201) or tight fit (401). The 101 skinny fit has a straight leg.
+Longhorn4life32 look for the Tapered (201) or tight fit (401). The 101 skinny fit has a straight leg.

I'm looking for some tapered selvedge denim, i got the wierd guy fit but they aren't even that tapered, do you have any brands that may carry what I'm looking for? I know the apc kanye collaboration had some but their impossible to get! Please help!
The APC Kanyes are very unique cut. I don't know any other brands with such an extreme taper. Your best option is to get them tapered at a tailor.
So if I have a 30 waist, I should get the 29's right?
Hey I wanted to know is you are supposed to machine wash them or hand wash them and in any particular way?
I'm really basic with my washing. I clean my denim in a washing machine, with cold water, gentle cycle, using regular Tide detergent.
Hi!
On your retired pair, did you wash them or soak them at all during their life time?
Here's my detailed review: Unbranded Selvedge Raw Indigo Skinny Denim UB101 Review and Fit @ 22 months
They were soaked 2x, and machine washed 2x (one hot water wash). Always hang dry.
Thank you!

beautiful jeans man I love that kind
hell yeah where did you get them
Could u do an on person for the jeans? I'm unsure about the fits of the tapered and skinny. I was looking to get a pair but don't know which model to buy
I was thinking about getting a pair of unbranded denim, I'm 6'2 and kinda skinny I was wondering should I go down a size from 32?
Size based on actual measurements. Use the ones on www.blueowl.us
thanks man
Who repairs your denim?
Dos a iPhone 6 plus fit in the front pocket...?
Those unbranded are cool (i got them) the only problem it´s the low rise , i can´t dress low rise jeans, they crush my balls.
what am i measuring the length or the waist
Do you know how these fit compared to the Obey modern denim?
price is?
So all the lengths are the same?
Yes. The Skinny ones are 36", the Tapered ones are 34". They do this to keep production costs low, which keep prices lower for consumers.
Many stores that sell them offer free hemming if you want them shortened (eg. Unbranded, Blue Owl Workshop... etc).
Did you presoak these?
hey man, why are all these raw demin jeans so long compared to others?
Making selvedge denim is a slower process, so they're not usually mass produced as quickly as the jeans you normally buy. Because of that, and to keep costs low, they keep them at 1 length.
These Unbrandeds were 36". I'm only 5'8", so I end up cuffing once, and letting the rest stack. You could get them hemmed if you prefer.
thy are longer because you can fold the seams to show off the selvage
Where did you bought this pant?
Purchased from Urban Outfitters. They can be found at Blue Owl Workshop as well.
Where are they made?
+leesandro C NVM saw it at 3:38 "Made in Macau"
20jeans.com has $25 raw denim just like the unbranded ones, no branding, no nothing, just plain.
how much should i size down?
I wouldn't size down at all. I actually went a size up. I believe they recently (ie. a few months ago) changed they're sizing. So I recommend finding measurements and figure your size out from there.
how do the honeycombs form?
How tall are you?
Dude where'd you get that belt?
zetabyte99 Polo Ralph Lauren belt.

They introduced a "Tight Fit" that might fit you better.
cheers
Stretch selvedge doesn't fade that well because you don't get the rigidity in the folds the denim makes with your body that is integral to fades
Where'd you get the belt? I'm looking for something just like that haha
Across the waist.
Gr8 vid
Is that made in Mexico . Cheap kaka.you need to do some learning . If not mede in Italy . They ain t no jeans
Making videos about chinese made jeans such as these is like shining shit and calling it gold. You can find the best handmade denim in the world in the good old u.s. of a for under a 100 dollars if you have any common sense at all
Fuck outta here.
Enjoy being stupid, don't let me stop you
Examples of brands?? 🤔 what's the point of talking shit?
Well make a video and name the brands bitch or shutup
then tell the brands, i need some good raw denim jeans.
