After this video I realize Jake is a terrible role model keep in mind I haven't watched the series in about three Forevers so my memory is kind of fuzzy
You forgot to mention that the show takes place about a thousand years after a giant nuclear war that destroyed civilization as we know it. Everything and anything is essentially the result of a mutation.

It's gets real fucking weird when you realize Princess Bubblegum, Ice King, and Marceline are all literally older than civilization. Espescially Ice King who've been around since the previous civilization. Also, every single inhabitant in the Candy Kingdom are PB's children in a way, she created them to populate the kingdom.
Also, there is a "deep" talk in between everysingle episode 'cuz finn is a little nervous about a dangerous mission, but to make up for these "deep" talks they put ing after random words like thonking, bonking, clonking, chonking, etc.

Duh. With a cow slammer. Patented by "War Crime Megrime" Seriously, I get the candy kingdom residents are kind of stupid but how is she still the leader of a kingdom?
Funny how it started off as a series where every girl character was attracted to Finn, and then somehow ended where the fan base only cares about the one lesbian relationship in the series.
Finn is left single at the end of the series. All that's left is specualtion and interpretation of how his love life will end up and that's kinda sad for me.
@@ChadetteIsDead Watch distant lands episode 2, they finally showed the end of their first time together. I like them as a couple, they really helped each other grow
Juuhazan I appreciate that. Just thought that Adventure Time never really had the same feel after she left in Season 5 But yeah, Steven Universe ain’t bad, just feels like nothing actually happens for long periods of time. It’s basically filler with occasional plot
LittleSween Nah that was just season one. It was setting up the basis for the rest of the show I think. They may be filler but all of the episodes have something important that they touch upon later.
This video forgot about the deep philosophical questions the show asks that leaves you feeling empty and in the constant state of existential crisis at the end of most episodes
@@laurenpeterson6625 hey, I started watching Adventure time when it first aired back in 2010 when I was like 6 and continued watching it till about 2016. I just rewatched it in 2020. My point is as a kid I liked it for it's bright colors and jokes but as a ”adult” I like it for it's deeper themes and plots. A good cartoon captivates both young and old audiences
@@laurenpeterson6625 Well the show handles it more mature way especially in later seasons. And most of all the show really grew up with us. I was 10 when it came out and actually aged with it while Finn did, the topics got heavier as I grew older to understand them. It's one of those things that was more of the experience of watching than actually the content.
@@thenurseinblack1810 terrible satire that completely misrepresented the show, I really like the "this is basically" series, but this is one of the worst, it is just slanderous to the show and the people who worked on it. It's even worst when in the end Jello tries to advertise another artist that worked on this episode while bashing AT's crew
It'd likely need to be majorly over-sought plot and character interaction-wise by Rebecca Sugar since she always had a hand in any episode involving said past and was the one who came up with the notion to make the Alzheimer allegory thing between them. That's actually likely why after she left we got little to nothing more about plot-lines like that up until around the time the Stakes miniseries (which Rebecca came back to help with) was released. Other Marcy and Simon or Simon and Betty episodes were produced around the same time as well.
Nope, Rebecca Sugar left when working on Adventure time and her own show (Steven Universe) become too hectic. And she had to make a choice. So naturally she chose to focus on her own show after it really picked up. She did return to A.T for the Merceline focused mini series "Stakes".
Rick Sanchez once again. Stated in-comment. And her going on to make SU is common knowledge. you just repeated what was already stated. You're not adding anything new, and my first comment was me literally saying if something like the OP's comment were to work it'd have to have Rebecca's hand in it since prior to leaving AT she was the one behind all of those episode plots and backstories.
Calling Adventure Time a trainwreck is unfair. Its more of a train where all the engineers are drunk, the brakes are broken, and Rebecca Sugar is the only one trying to put out the engine fire.
What's with people saying Rebecca Sugar being the only one who saved the show? She's definitely a writer to look out for but there are other writers who can do great episodes.
I never thought of rebecca being the only good writer her episodes never stood out to me or made an impactful impression and saying all the writers are idiots is a very unfair comparison hell they have already won 4 emmy's without her
Only sugar huh... Totally not the creators of bee and puppy cat and over the garden wall, objectively great shows, or pendleton ward who made another good show bravest warriors, nope, just rebecca song writin saviour sugar.
+HappyGreeny He said "escape and shit" Clearly you misunderstood. This show allows him to run away to the toilet to appropriately deal with his body's necessary functions.
icecream hero What do you mean "A thorn in your side"? Has it been haunting you or something? I hate a lot of TV shows, but none of them have been "a thorn in my side"...I just ignore it...like a normal person.
I was all "hmm, he doesn't like Adventure Time, dunno about this" then you pointed out that best episodes are the ones without Finn and Jake and, yeah you're right.
i was under the impression you made these videos about things you liked but still jokingly called out the bad qualities of. While i was laughing out loud at the beginning i was expecting some kind of "but as weird and dumb as this show is, i still love it" or something like that. Not just straight out calling it a bad show.
yeah but he at least had SOMETHING nice to say about all the other ones. I do agree with the points made I'm this video it's just that the "bad show" part is what bothered me a little bit.
Gigi Greco You know why? Because he thinks it is a bad show (an opinion I share with him). He doesn't have to offer both sides of the argument, particularly if it is an opinionated manner.
This video really feels like it’s made by someone who watches the first season and then read the rest on Wikipedia Cuz I think I can count on one hand how many fart jokes and vomit jokes are in the show And the idea that the lingo is there to be “hip” instead of literally just being a stylistic choice is just bad faith I get this is satire but it’s different from everything else it legit just feels like jello wanted to shit in the show To anyone out there thank you for listening to me complain about a satirical video from 7 years ago
Yeah I just watched this today and she either absolutely did not watch the show or he already had an opinion in mind and kept looking for things that fit his already formulated opinion. Because there are so many interesting character arcs in the show and the plot actually wraps itself up pretty well, honestly is one of the best animated shows of all time. Adventure time will always be a legendary classic
'Some people just can't take other people's opinions,' I don't see how *anyone* could take this as self righteous passive-agressiveness. I'm just sayin'
As much as I adore Total Drama to death, its pretty unlikely because TDD is coming out and if anything he would do that instead, plus the show is somewhat old and not very popular.
Most of us thought he was being ironic/tongue in cheek + the animation was cute. nowadays, it's a lot harder to laugh when you know he means it all 100% and is an asshole about it.
a come on, it wasnt that bad, i honestly was hoping for him to actually recover his arm, and i think no one get the thing of the episode, and it wasnt just nonsense that he recovered his arm, the flower was a remaining of the grass sword, the bee along with the magical queen bee thing just "awoke" the grass sword that grow a new arm that actually is nto even made o flesh, is grass, but it assumes a form similar to human skin so just he wouldnt walk around with a green arm. the only complain is that it had too much special effects for its return, the dream with bubblegum holding finnsword was a good foreshadow, but the sudden tree growing and then blowing up wa skinda weird, but we had seen worse
The show is sorta deep, but I can't remember one story line that wasn't either ended in a unsatisfying way or more commonly not ended at all. I'm guessing that we will either be left with a lot of loose threads or shitty ending 2 seasons from now.
I mean yeah, it's not nearly as consistent and cohesively written as Steven Universe. But it's still there. It's not all random nonsense with no continuity.
cubs2084 I'm probably going to finish Adventure Time (Hoping it doesn't get a Gravity Falls ending) which should indicate that I think it's fairly good, but I also think we have to critique it so future shows (If there are any) don't fall in the same pitfalls.
I love adventure time, but the last 30 seconds had me dying, even though I knew what the punchline was gonna be. Adventure Time is an amazing show imo but it absolutely has it's flaws.
Yeah I think it's even more funny if you are an adventure time fan, like me. I appreciate the show, but can still get a good laugh from it being made fun of because there are a lot of stupid things that happen in the show, and that's okay.
I thought so too, at first. From what I remember, they expanded, and even finished a lot of these things in season 6 and 7. I actually felt that this whole "typically cartoon-like independent episodes, but with an overarching story" ordeal was in full motion during these seasons. The worry people had instilled in me by saying "the show is going in a bad direction" washed away, and honestly I'm very satisfied with the show. You can still argue that it lacks in earlier seasons, but I think that when you look at it as a whole, it's been doing quite well.
The idea in the first and second season was that it was going to be a show with less plot and more filler episodes but they decided to add more plot than originally thigh which messed up the plot a bit
It wasn't a problem in the early episodes though as the plot was resolved and they just needed a note to end on. It's not until later on where arcs start getting convoluted and abortive that problems arise.
Honestly I love everything about this show. The world building and character growth is just spectacular. I consider Finn's poor handling of romance to be fundamental in maturing into a well balanced person. He's flawed and had realistically negative traits he had to work on. I think whenever the show is accused of a poorly written character, they're missing the nuance of them not being perfect. Bubblegum is genuinely good but IS a control freak. Finn WAS manipulative to Flame Princess. We're supposed to be bothered by these thing and hope the characters resolve their issues. You also can't deny that the in depth backstory reads like Elder Scrolls lore. It's all very well thought out and relatively consistent.
@@deviouspurrloindp8244 for me it's 5 and then 7-10 season 6 had too many episodes centered around LSP for me. I know LSP is supposed to not be likeable, but it makes the episodes about LSP really unenjoyable for me.
I've been catching up on the show for the finale in the last week and I need to disagree with the slang. I really like the show, but even though the dumb slang has gone down, it's still there a lot, especially with Marceline. I can't stand but literally cringe every time I hear one of them try to pass off something like "what the GLIB!? That was TOTES badoobies" as normal, relatable speech.
I liked it better when it was just a stupid cartoon. All of the plots are either stupid, drawn out too long, or don't have satisfying endings. It feels like they just do things just for the sake of doing it. It started out random and stupid in a good way and became random and stupid in a bad way. The show does comedy best and is terrible at everything else.
What do you mean, every new show they've pushed has to look as random and minimalist as AT now, just because Adult Swim shows are popular, we'll never see any Mooninites show up and swear and steal on Gumball or whatever.
And yet it remains one of the most influential animated shows of all time with mtiple spin-offs to accompany it. Crazy how misunderstanding a show can make you miss the point completely.
@@Not_Kritikal hasnt really influenced much anything. dont think it was even that popular outside of the states i think? only time i ever see it mentioned is online among english speaking crowds...
To all people interpreting criticism as hatred: You will not do well in demanding careers. It is better to try to accept opposing points of view than brew a reactionary bile in your belly.
"People always ask me, 'Jello, do you actually hate the shows you parody?' and until now I've always been able to say 'no.' " Author confirms he hates the show. Although your point is still valid, don't get me wrong
Squirtleawesome Of course it's still valid, your comment is hardly a rebuttal, I'd already seen that and more importantly someone who dislikes something is obviously going to still be able to give valid criticisms.
But this particular video HAD a lot of hate, and here's the reason: he actually does hate this show, and some of it made into the video. Compare it with his others vids, they're much more light hearted
Well, tell the truth to yourself then....the show that started off with Finn being a good character has made Finn into a TERRIBLE character! All of his growth has diminished. When Flame Princess dumped him, he fell off! Marceline and Ice King really carry the show now. The subtle dark tones and commentary of growing up and how human nature works in a land where there are no more humans....all of that, POOF! Gone! His criticism is not only relevant, it's valid right down to the t. Hell, they took the one piece of development that Jake had and made them super age into grown children in the most literal sense ever. The Lich is no longer relevant. Princess Bubblegum is barely relevant.
SPOILERS BOI Finn Sword and his arm (grass sword) become Fern, a pseudo Finn with his memories and is made entirely out of grass. His missing arm is replaced with a robotic one (remind you of anything?)
@@Videospiel-Man5730 But there are a few other dogs around his age that were much more mature than him, so I don’t think age has anything to do with it.
the best part of the vid is the last part abt finn's loss of his arm and how that's. actually what happens at the end. He loses his arm again and bc he's already dealt w the loss, he learns to accept it, and when at the end golb digests him to the "most essential part of himself" he still has no arm, and by the ending of the og series, he doesn't even have a robotic prosthesis. i get this criticism at that part of the show but, i actually rlly like this ending. The loss of his arm is such an essential part of finn's character that he literally isn't "allowed" by the narrative or the magic in the world to have it back. it's a really neat twist on the common ableist narrative that exist abt missing limbs
I just now realized that even the most enjoyable cartoons can´t be perfect since we live in a perpetual unperfect universe where we as humans aren´t even able to master such a simple task as typing the perfekt comment...
Adventure Time has some really intriguing development from each season to the next, turning insignificant little things from previous episodes into important plot devices later on. The way it builds on itself is nearly flawless, when you consider that the entire series is basically a long improv piece. It ventures into some pretty deep explorations of human nature, politics, and nature that no other cartoon does, that I know of. Besides this, the often philosophical subjects of the show are presented beautifully in a visually appealing, infinitely versatile setting through characters that the viewer can both relate with and admire for their realistic traits and behaviors. Even characters that show up for one to six episodes in the whole show have an intense personality about them, something hard to achieve without much character development. Adventure Time does a great job of simultaneously provoking thought while also being lighthearted and entertaining. It's extremely relaxing to watch because of this balance between philosophical themes and fun. It's not something you watch mindlessly, rather you're engaged with the show to catch all of the subtle gems it has to offer. But yeah, Finn does fuck a bee. So there's that.
IMMACYCLOPS well I forced myself to rewatch it and. -Pb is never depicted as psychotic ruler (Obsessive and controlling yes but not destructive) -Finn does have some emotional problems but not how jello displayed them -There was no intention for jake to be a serious mentor. Again a false depiction of the character -most conflicts come from an adventure not Pb’s machinations -The bee scene has deeper meaning that most brush off -the humor is not corporate. It’s jokes that the creators (who have strong creative liberty) think are funny. Sometime immature sometime slapstick etc. the way jello portrayed them as ZOMG LOL is so lazy and false. That part was especially offensive to hear (Seriously who thinks slam a cow is supposed to pander to a young audience? It’s just an energetic way Finn shows his character) -the lich seen at 3 season closers, not every season end. -the lich spends, at most, 2 seasons incased in amber -claiming plots have no resolution while the show is still being made. -“More interesting than what we’re supposed to care about” One off adventure provide short snippets of other stories, with the intention of asking question, spending as much time with one character as you do watching the show obviously would make a new situation more interesting then it would be on its own
Star Butterpie lives with her parents Lever and Loon in the "beautiful" castle of Meowth. But she blows it up right in the first episode and then gets grounded... litterally, she has to spend a while on Earth to learn to control her powers, because: To keep our own world safe, let's get our daughter to destroy some other one we don't care about... Yay... Star gets to live as a guest at the house of Macro Tortillaz and goes to school... full of characters which are so boring that they just get written out of the script some time later. But if the characters are lucky, they get some character development, like that weird beanie girl "Janna Banana". However, besides Star causing trouble with MAGIC, there's also that rejected Harvey Beaks character Lulo, who wants to steal her wand, for reasons he never explains. But then the new villain showed up, who is basically a crocodile version of Snape, who betrays Lulo and takes his castle for himself, and his monsters, which always had to fight for Lulo, because he couldn't do it himself.
I was not aware "flippin" was a word reserved exclusively for four year olds, Pixlepro. I don't normally respond to ridiculous comments such as yours, but I just couldn't help myself this time, seeing as this is about the adventure time fanbase. As you seem to be one of those rare moronic people who think that cartoons are something that can only be enjoyed by small children, I will try to make this as simple as possible. I flippin adore adventure time, and I can use whatever flippin words I damn please to express that adoration
I am wondering why you, someone who obviously does not like adventure time at all, have any business near Taslekia Taslekio's comment, or mine for that matter. But here you are. And here I am, replying to your useless, hateful, ignorant comment for the sole reason of satisfying my own spite, and to see what kind of rude reply you can come up with, because its just too fun to make strangers on the internet pissed off at you over a cartoon. Also, you spelled "You're" wrong.
i did. Because I loved what how show reinvented itself and wasn't dumb enough to believe that Rebecca Sugar was the only writer, which on it's face is so disrespectful to actual creator and people who wrote some genuine good stuff, like Tom Herpich.
you'd have Lincoln going on the verge of insanity with a bunch of girls who don't act nearly as mature and rounded as he does, and he's the MIDDLE child. Probably in part due to all the incest fanfics and pictures of him with ALL the sisters, but lynn jr. and lucy in particular. Hell, the Lynn/Lincoln thing has gotten to a point where there's a well known fan character who's a love child of the two.
Loud House is actually pretty good. There aren't any fart jokes and it really is basically what it's like to live with 2 or more siblings of the opposite gender (not to be sexist) but I like it

+jory habab the first season of a show is never as good as the others (Avatar The Last Airbender, and Moral Oerl come to mind) but you need that first season to build up the world abd characters and arches.
Watch out for SU, its good, but damn does it have some hangups. Mostly its just the fandom though. Also you don't have to watch until season 2. Hes getting season 1B confused with season 2.
jory habab yo i actually love Steven universe too. it show how far cartoons can progress and relate to an audience. but the reason I love adverture time more is because I feel finn is more relatable to me a person more than Steven. also because to me, adverture time lore is more developed and is expanding our understanding of their characters and explaining the long history of the world. although Steven universe is faster then them.
The fact that he downplays ice king and then moments later says that his episodes are more enjoyable then the main characters is so telling he doesn't care what this show is really trying to tell. Do you like ice king or not jello?
You should do a "So this is basically So this is basically" episode. Roast yourself so bad I don't even want to watch the video, just like you did with adventure time.
The Otaku Dragon Slayer Yeah actually pretty much. He wrote this a while ago since it takes time to ya know.. animate. I actually stopped watching adventure time for the reasons he brought up but I caught up and I have to say it got way better
Did anyone else see the elements mini series? The candy people are scary and perpetually happy, the slime world is f***ed up, the flame people are at war, and everyone in ice world is depressed!
I was in high school when the UA-cam short came out. Everyone thought it was hilarious. I didn't watch the actual show until after college. I find it to be very creative and intelligent. It incorporates so many different ideas, concepts, and philosophies. I think it does a great job developing character arcs, and I like the fact that we never dwell on any one character for too long. It feels more realistic in that sense. The show's themes and storytelling has matured over the years, and I love how the show's universe only keeps expanding. It's constantly playing around with realism and fantasy, but the show always remains down to Earth in time despite all the nutty, magical, and futuristic qualities that make it so fun in the first place. It's a show that isn't afraid to comment on itself and use that introspection to explore and evolve.
Islands, absolutely. Elementals, less so. I still watch the show religiously and think it's one one the best cartoons from its era (amongst the likes of Regular Show, Amazing World of Gumball etc.), but I was honestly a little disappointed by how underwhelming the entire mini-series was. +YarrBr0 I agree totally with everything you said.
yeah i hate how his videos (this one and cowboy bebop piss me off the most) just completely write off everything he doesn't understand as just random and dumb
it points them out and exaggerates them (sometimes) depending on the ep. Dont get me wrong i really enjoy this and the other vids he makes about other shows i enjoy but he does exaggerates some parts for comedy otherwise yea its the flaws.
I swear, you should TOTALLY make a "So This Is Basically Teen Titans Go!" That ridiculous disturbingly overpopular show needs to be pounded by one of these.
@@MrXsunxweaselx self-aware or not, that's like saying the faces of evil is a good Zelda game because it's Zelda. just because it's aware that it's garbage doesn't make it good or get a pass from people saying it's a bad show.
Even with all of its flaws, _Adventure Time_ is still one of the best on-going series on television. There's going to be so many more weird, existential humanitarians in the world because of it.
M. Woller I can't really speak for Steven Universe (I haven't really watched it), yet Adventure Time is all about breaking up the typical "children's show" mentality of clear/ simple life lessons, that good characters always get rewarded, and the bad are punished. The world is much more ambiguous, as bad things happen to good people-- and as bleak and cynical the show can be at times (they are post-apocalyptic after all), it pervades with optimism. I like to think even the younger viewers will learn the good examples or at least examine their own behavior from watching the show.
+Paul Keefer I'd seriously recommend Steven Universe. It's overseen by Rebecca Sugar, who, in my eyes, is one of the best writers in the animation industry. I won't say anything, but watch it all the way through. Once you get halfway through Season 1 it really kicks off.
+M. Woller I mean, SU does have flaws, (because all things and people do) but you're only looking at the negative point of view. If you got a chance to actually watch all episodes so far, some things you said aren't actually true. For example, if you watched the episode were Smoky Quartz is introduced (I forgot what it was called), you would know that it isn't meant to be sexualized. It is only meant to represent syncronized relationships. Another example, Connie ISN'T Steven's girlfriend. Maybe you would've realized that if you payed attention to the episodes. I mean, you may not like it, and I totally respect that, but don't go saying untrue things about it.
+Jade Mack rule 34. doesn't matter, it'll happen. and of course there's nooooo such thing happening with SU fandom /s/. just get over it. when ppl connect with characters, there's a chance they connect too much, so that's gunna happen. no fandom is without this.
All fandoms have shit in them. Sure some of the SU community drove someone to commit suicide, but that doesn't reflect the quality of the show. Those fans are just overly sensitive people obsessed with shipping that when they see a ship they don't like they go batshit crazy. But just those people...hopefully. And then you have all the fandoms with their personas or their own "original" characters, even though they're just reskins of already established characters and said "original" characters are just OP as all hell.
You seriously need to watch the newer episodes like Skyhooks 2 (obviously don't skip ahead). It gets deep and SPOILER Jake is turned back into his original form (turns into a monster basically) because his dad got bit in the head by a monster (which is what he looks like now) which is seen in another episode
I personally really enjoyed Adventure Time and am eagerly waiting on new distant lands episodes. Look my opinion on it is that it started as a strictly for 8 year olds show, no plot, no character development just nonsense but the show matured. I recommend simply skipping first 2 seasons, you won't miss out on anything of any importance, even what you miss on is simply kind of ruined by bad execution so ignore it. Then the show just gets very good with world building and character arcs, it's no longer about oh look Finn goes slicing some guy or whatever, it's about Finn growing up and realising the world really doesn't revolve around him as we discover how pb's politics and external forces like the lich and prismo dictate reality on a whim. And I absolutely love how the show starts by showing pb as a flawless graceful princess but slowly tearing that image and exposing her as a tyrant and slowly allowing her to see it for herself as well but not in the oops she evil generic way but by building her up and showing that this tyranny wasn't born of evil but of over protectiveness and her giant ego. We get to explore Simon and the effect of his Alzheimer on poor Marcy. The extremely well done back stories of the candy Kingdom, the fall on men and what happened to the last survivors. We even get world building details about things the characters don't necessarily know like why is Finn wearing that weird bunny hat (which as it turns out used to be for vampire protection from the time before Marcy destroyed them) There's deep history dives that set huge plots like elements, and yes there's romantic plots which also evolve with the age of the characters. I love it. I don't think you are expected to care about what Finn and Jake are doing this week but rather how other characters see them, their effect on their lives and character growth, so yes those great one off adventures which build the world are absolutely the crown gems. Shout out to Jake being the worst father he can be. 10/10 will skip the first 2 seasons again.
Weird how that goes. I have the opposite opinion. I liked the first two seasons, as it was a fun wacky adventure. Then it started getting serious, which in my opinion, made the show way too unrecognizable. You can have serious moments and good character arcs while still retaining the spirit of the show, just look at Regular Show.
seriously, this is what you are basing your opinion on? the show becoming unrecognizable? very poor judgement, in my opinion, since the show maturing with its audience was probably the best bit. also, not everything was as serious and depressing as you describe it; you either gave up on the show way too early, or you always had a preference for another.
@@olympusgolemoflight7198 Regular show was fine, but to me it's not remotely on par, but look that's exactly the thing, you like shows like regular show, I don't really see the appeal (adventure time had tons of fun and funny moments, the humor grew as well it wasn't the same type of humor which you seem to enjoy) But look that's fine we both agree that this show had an early part that's appealing to one audience and then season 3 and up were meant for a different more mature audience. And that's ok, I praise the part I enjoyed and it's a huge shame imo that they didn't just reboot and give it a different name. It's much harder for a show to get fans if (as you said yourself) it simply changed into a completely different show after 2 seasons. Imagine game of thrones having 2 seasons of regular show style episodes and then bang the actual seasons of GOT, it would be so much less successful and it's such a shame because the later part would have been way more popular if it simply wasn't for the early part.

@@MrPF I mean if it's his opinion on the show I don't really see the problem. And I can't really argue on your opinion either.
If we got an entire series based on Marceline and the Ice King's past, I'd totally be down for that.

I mean, Adventure Time is sometimes deeper than you give it credit for here.
But I can't argue with the arm thing. That was bullshit.
the arm thing isn't over
a come on, it wasnt that bad, i honestly was hoping for him to actually recover his arm, and i think no one get the thing of the episode, and it wasnt just nonsense that he recovered his arm, the flower was a remaining of the grass sword, the bee along with the magical queen bee thing just "awoke" the grass sword that grow a new arm that actually is nto even made o flesh, is grass, but it assumes a form similar to human skin so just he wouldnt walk around with a green arm. the only complain is that it had too much special effects for its return, the dream with bubblegum holding finnsword was a good foreshadow, but the sudden tree growing and then blowing up wa skinda weird, but we had seen worse

I really like the show, but the fact that they never finish introduced plots really irritated me.
How about the fact that most episodes don't have an ending, just something "lol randem XD" then cuts to the credits.
Or when they DO conclude, it's usually dissapointing
Lol even though I love Adventure Time this was hilarious.

But... but... doesn't his very _relevant_ rebuttal show that there is some bias behind these points :/
The Lich is no longer relevant. the best part of the vid is the last part abt finn's loss of his arm and how that's. actually what happens at the end.

James Rae this comment is not appreciated enough
He did not fuck the bee though. Lol. It was LSP.
He definitely did fuck lsp. Strange episode, that
Wasn't there an entire episode about Jake pissing off a witch with no lesson beyond "Jake is lazy, isn't that so funny?"
That was an awful episode, Finn was pretty much just prostituting himself, and he just kissed all the princesses, then fucks LSP for no reason.
am i the only one who finds it ironic that there is a writer who looks like Luffy from One Piece and says how do we make an ending?
maybe its because... Its not as ironic as you think ?
Justin the Salamander because it's not Ironic. It's a coincidence. Not a very good one too.
Justin the Salamander LMAO I was thinking the same 😂
Proudblackjynx has it exactly right, you really stretched it to connect.
bro watched adventure time without even trying to analyze or pay attention. he watched it just like a little kid would lol
I actually was sad when this cartoon ended...and then this came into my reccomended
If I’m understanding this comment correctly, it would be a shame that a video with so many factual errors caused you to not enjoy the show.
What factual errors are you talking about?
No I still love the show but that bee thing was kinda fucked
@@fredrickbanks1966 What factual errors?
IMMACYCLOPS well I forced myself to rewatch it and.
-Pb is never depicted as psychotic ruler (Obsessive and controlling yes but not destructive)
-Finn does have some emotional problems but not how jello displayed them
-There was no intention for jake to be a serious mentor. Again a false depiction of the character
-most conflicts come from an adventure not Pb’s machinations
-The bee scene has deeper meaning that most brush off
-the humor is not corporate. It’s just an energetic way Finn shows his character)
-the lich seen at 3 season closers, not every season end.
-the lich spends, at most, 2 seasons incased in amber
-claiming plots have no resolution while the show is still being made.
-“More interesting than what we’re supposed to care about” One off adventure provide short snippets of other stories, with the intention of asking question, spending as much time with one character as you do watching the show obviously would make a new situation more interesting then it would be on its own

Can you pleeeeease make a So This is Basically Star vs the Forces of Evil :3
Star Butterpie lives with her parents Lever and Loon in the "beautiful" castle of Meowth. But she blows it up right in the first episode and then gets grounded... litterally, she has to spend a while on Earth to learn to control her powers, because:
To keep our own world safe, let's get our daughter to destroy some other one we don't care about...
But then the new villain showed up, who is basically a crocodile version of Snape, who betrays Lulo and takes his castle for himself, and his monsters, which always had to fight for Lulo, because he couldn't do it himself.

rewatching this again after years and I am left wondering what the hell I just watched or how the hell did I enjoy this the first time I watched it
This is accurate up to the first 15 episodes.
So true. It gets so much better. I flippin love Adventure Time now and forever and I am *not* mentally prepared for the finale.
At last!! Sensible comments! Thank you.
You unironically say "flippin", Your most likely a 4 year old.

Of all the youtube videos to age like milk, I was not expecting this to be one of them.
Yeah cause this guy has a fart delish surprised he didn’t like that shit
i did. Because I loved what how show reinvented itself and wasn't dumb enough to believe that Rebecca Sugar was the only writer, which on it's face is so disrespectful to actual creator and people who wrote some genuine good stuff, like Tom Herpich.
"So basicly this is the loud house". Do it now.
Caleb Patrick no
you'd have Lincoln going on the verge of insanity with a bunch of girls who don't act nearly as mature and rounded as he does, and he's the MIDDLE child. Probably in part due to all the incest fanfics and pictures of him with ALL the sisters, but lynn jr. and lucy in particular. Hell, the Lynn/Lincoln thing has gotten to a point where there's a well known fan character who's a love child of the two.
Caleb Patrick NOW
Loud House is actually pretty good. There aren't any fart jokes and it really is basically what it's like to live with 2 or more siblings of the opposite gender (not to be sexist) but I like it
TheGamingKitten27 KittyCatPlatt no fart jokes? there is and I hate... cough cough the baby cough cough
adventure time will always be my favorite kids show. great laughs and eventual character building or explanation, or whatever. good show.
i am pretty sure your gonna like Steven universe, try watching until season 2 i only liked show after season 1 :P
it's your choice though i just recommend it :)
+jory habab the first season of a show is never as good as the others (Avatar The Last Airbender, and Moral Oerl come to mind) but you need that first season to build up the world abd characters and arches.
sam robacker Your right.
I love Adventure Time, it's one of my favorite animated shows but the bee shit was terrible, very true.
Wait that actually happened?
Wait that actually happened?
Yes, exactly like the description
The breezy episode?
Nelson Thomas It was a weird episode
The fact that he downplays ice king and then moments later says that his episodes are more enjoyable then the main characters is so telling he doesn't care what this show is really trying to tell. Do you like ice king or not jello?
People in the comments are actually getting angry over a cartoon featuring a tube shaped child with noodle arms and a silly hat.
The Internet is for arguments. And cats.
People are passionate about the things they love, so I don't see what you're getting at.
TheMarshyMallow Passionate to the point in which they would get angry over someone else not loving it.

Love this comment! Are you caught up? Islands and Elementals was amazing.
It points out the flaws of adventure time.
No rants needed.
it points them out and exaggerates them (sometimes) depending on the ep. Dont get me wrong i really enjoy this and the other vids he makes about other shows i enjoy but he does exaggerates some parts for comedy otherwise yea its the flaws.
Jello: "'Fin' is a character who likes maths and screaming."
In the first 10 eps only!
Hmm, interesting ramblings, Mr. lunatic. Now allow me a rebuttal:
Finn and Jake are inherently charming, you pompous dork muffin.
I swear, you should TOTALLY make a "So This Is Basically Teen Titans Go!" That ridiculous disturbingly overpopular show needs to be pounded by one of these.
wait it's popular oh god oh no
I like how this comment treats these episode like dodgeballs to throw wherever is needed.
if you can make a good show look bad, then what about a cancerous tumor like teen titans
@@cucumberjoe4260 The problem is that Go! is self-aware. They know they are bad, that's their main draw and the basis of an entire movie.
+Paul Keefer
I'd seriously recommend Steven Universe.
It's overseen by Rebecca Sugar, who, in my eyes, is one of the best writers in the animation industry.
I won't say anything, but watch it all the way through.
Once you get halfway through Season 1 it really kicks off.
+GoopHug I suppose I will-- I saw the first 3 episodes as they premiered, and I thought Steven was really, really annoying.
+M. Woller
I mean, SU does have flaws, (because all things and people do) but you're only looking at the negative point of view.
Steven Universe: teaching kids to fight rocks since 2013.
At least the AT fans didn't drive someone to commit suicide.
YASSS GIRL DRAG THE SU FANS
Fans in general are inherently retarded.
Steven Universe fans also just drove one of the storyboard artists off of twitter over a "shipping war". #ProudToBeHuman
He actually eventually lived without his arm and becomes a more rounded character. Jolly good show.
The description makes me sad. I thought the show was just weird and dumb, until I realized how much backstory it had. I’ve loved the show ever since.
I kind of agree with this video, though. Can’t really argue any of it.
Tbh I used to love Adventure Time but now I kinda went off it... however I still think Marceline was a very well developed character :)
Elliedragon MCSM, Pokémon And More agreed about Marcy. She was one of the most interesting aspects of the show.
Now watch Adventure Time again. Finn has matured, The plot got serious..... Jake sucks for some odd reasons.
Elliedragon MCSM, Pokémon And More Me too. I don't like Adventure Time anymore.
the show is kinda in a heavy plot area, so right now its better than ever
Butthurt people who are mad that he hates your favorite show- See IHE's "How to deal with criticism."
We even get world building details about things the characters don't necessarily know like why is Finn wearing that weird bunny hat (which as it turns out used to be for vampire protection from the time before Marcy destroyed them)
There's deep history dives that set huge plots like elements, and yes there's romantic plots which also evolve with the age of the characters.
@@olympusgolemoflight7198 Regular show was fine, but to me it's not remotely on par, but look that's exactly the thing, you like shows like regular show, I don't really see the appeal (adventure time had tons of fun and funny moments, the humor grew as well it wasn't the same type of humor which you seem to enjoy)
But look that's fine we both agree that this show had an early part that's appealing to one audience and then season 3 and up were meant for a different more mature audience.
@@blueplayer6197 Agreed. After all, just because one person does not like a show, that doesn’t mean that it is a bad show.
