Had the idea/opportunity to do something fun and unique, so I took it. Screwdriver could be knife-carved from the same nail I used for soldering, it would just take a very long time.
To be fair I of course took this apart at home before the trip so I already knew what the problems were. I knew the button would be pretty straight forward but was far from confident that I could get the soldering to work (and was super happy that it did!); I even brought my own nail in preparation but never had to bust it out since we found that old one in the tree. Basically I wanted the whole thing to be as genuine as possible, but also didn't want it to be a complete failure, so there was some planning ahead of time to make sure that didn't happen. Bit of behind the scenes info for you.. maybe I should add it to the vid description as well.. Cheers!
Very beautiful workshop
Couldn't agree more
Damn you did it even with a makeshift sodering iron.
Gotta use what you have handy!
Good shit this quack is fantastic

Thanks for watching!
Damn, that was quite different from your normal videos. LOL
I wonder if it's possible to make a screwdriver from something out in the woods.

now all you need is a solar panel and mod it to play with solar energy!
That would be cool!
It's kind of hilarious that the problems with this device were specifically ones that could be fixed with those makeshift tools...

who needs IPA when you have the STICK
Always in my tool belt now
I could have "fixed" it with one simple chop from that hatchet.
This game boy has seen enough abuse!
