I didn’t have to grow older to want peace and tranquillity. It has been a desire for as long as I can remember. Maybe because I was raised by a mother who thrived on drama until her dying day at 92. She couldn’t stand to be around “old people “. Even though she was older than they were. RIP MOM finally resting and probably hating it.
Darling Roberta,
I truly hope you find peace, go for it! Seize the day💌
Psalm 34 worked for me today. Take care.
You were wise even in your youth; that's priceless. You didn't take it all for granted, you knew the enduring values, peace + tranquility.
There's only one word, lovely and two lovely people. Cheers
"An old tin church and you're not religious anyway." That's a sarcastic comment! I LOVE the finished result! And the furniture is perfect and the view looking through the windows is gorgeous! Paul and Margaret get an A plus!
Midgie
nice fun sarcasm though
Anything George says is excellent.
Yep!
And its MOrgoret, the show host kept calling her by!!!!
It’s funny how as you get older - you long for tranquility, peace and quiet.
and good looking men
You are right. For us, in our mid-50’s, We are focusing on the home we’ve been in for 15 years that we’ve taken for granted and really has great potential. The improvements We are looking at designed to ad to our peace and tranquillity. Maybe because We stay home so much more as we get older and not on the go to Weekends in Chicago or Wisconsin. More of a focus on relaxing in our nest here on the Shore of a beautiful river.
Ha ha 😂
Its too close to death for me!! I like a shop and a cafe.
A shame most can only afford the expense of their dreams when older.
Much respect and admiration for these two. May they live a long and happy life.
Such a cool couple, I love their vision, their work ethic and aesthetic in restoring this chapel- converting it into their home. Their relationship is so cool, their humour and steadfast love shines through. So impressed and inspired.
Love their attitude, hard work and dry humor. Hope everything worked out and they are living happily ever after. Absolutely gorgeous views, would love, love, love to see for myself but then I might never want to come home.
And that kitchen is out of this world. I'm amazed.
I really love this couple. Chill and upbeat.
They only need a lot of palm plants to really finish the art deco decor. The 30's used a ton of sweeping palm plants in every room. It was quite a jungle look.
The loveliest couple and the episode that I've most enjoyed watching! Such a beautiful place they've chosen to live!
They sold it. 2022 Trip Advor has terrible reviews, it is dirty, and owner is rude.
That is one beautiful kitchen and really captures that 50's feeling. I was born in 1951.
I think a great parallel can be made between the work on the house and the couple's teamwork to get their dog unstuck from under the fence (33:09)! That moment touched me as the most heartwarming and hilarious scene from this whole episode. It made me smile as I thought, "They've got this."
Love the attitude and simplicity of the couple. What there were after and are very close to achieving is very commendable.
Of all your presentation, I have to say this one is, by far, a total favorite. Would that I have the funds to ring them up, schedule a long weekend and absorb the elegant simplicity of this amazing location. Well done.
Having a dream then going for it within reason . Still taking time to enjoy life. Best of luck to you.
The second Church looked like a Fairytale 🥰😍
Any couple that owns a Boxer is my kind of people! Lol They truly are a lovely couple, with or without their dog!
They did a great job. I would've liked to see the upstairs after they completed it.
can't love this enough. such peace and sweat combined. blessed for sure.
Amazing couple. This is how we build homes in Africa. Without loans and we build slowly when we get funds
I can relate to this couple. So glad they got what they wanted
The Hansel & Gretel house at 8:42 is amazing
Great project -- but a bit of an "Oops" in making a reference to "the altar area". The building was one of a standard design used by the United Free Church of Scotland from 1906-1929 (a point which wasn't brought out clearly) and the old photo actually showed in print that that's what it was. In which case it would most certainly NOT have had an altar. Need to do research a bit more carefully on that one, especially when most episodes of the show place an emphasis on historical research.
How fortunate that you have a skill that allows you to earn the funds to complete the project as you go along. Delayed although it is, you have the means to stop, earn, then continue. GOD Bless you.
These people are so endearing, I really enjoyed this immensely, and think I actually learned some life lessons:) Not to mention their build, omg, absolutely stunning style...that kitchen, smack me twice!
What a lovely couple and a lovely dream come true, but their attitudes, it makes it real...a never ending holiday...cheers and best of luck...!
I think it’s awesome and they have worked hard on it.
This place is so beautiful right decision to move here. I wish I can move too. admire there optimism and hard work which have given them this beautiful home😍
Hats off to them. I absolutely fell in love with the islands of the west coast of Scotland (Hebrides). Hopefully they are enjoying the fruits of their labor!
They sold it years ago. 2022 Trip Advisor has BAD reviews, it is unkempt, dirty, smelly, unclean. Rude owner.
@@jeanetteshawredden5643 They sold it and left the art deco collection? Shame :/
I'm not a big fan of Artdeco decor but this IS AMAZING. PERFECTLY DONE !!! Beautiful collection theyve done !
I would like to wake up to George Clarke.
📢👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹Excellent hardwork done perfectly blessed turning abandoned into very nice inspiration and achievement never wasted indeed🏆🌎🥇💖🕊💐🥰
16:40 most amazing cloud formation...
I do believe this is my favorite couple of all....they absolutely have the right attitude, understanding and patience. Therefore they have created the perfect peace for themselves.....and I absolutely love what they have created ❤
I loved the "Hansel + Gretel" reno, as well. Loved it.
This is going on all over America. Its wonderful!!
What a great couple. They're so relaxed but got on with the mammoth task on the Church. I'd love to see it completely finished. I love Margaret's window. Well done to them.
They sold it. You can see finished photos on Trip Advisor. In 2022 it is dirty, unkempt, rundown, rude owner - very bad reviews now.
A very beautiful transformation of the tin shed to a Art Deco Beauty, well done Paul & Margaret it is wonderful, just love it.
I wish these shows were still going, I love them.
I love your choices of decorating. Historic and peaceful at the same time.
Dearest, dearest Margaret and Paul, what a taste! what a courage ! your lovely home is 100 times more beautiful and classy than the ugly, shiny, nouveau riche pent house of Trump and those like him! What this world needs is CLASS !!!
I found the art deco style with the glass blocks and furniture unique in the atmosphere of an older church. Typically, the style would be a play upon Gothic style. So they have made the place truly their own.
I admire their work ethic.
Fantastic episode. What a great couple; they did an excellent job and true to their dream.
They should be congradulated for doing a fine job.
vincent fiore
It's lovely alright
I have a couple long time friends who's mother and father descended from Scotland. I didn't realize how stunning Scotland countryside looked like. God, its breathtaking beautiful. What a beautiful home they simple nailed it right on the head. Love their art deco 1930's furniture its suites the home perfectly not only that the kitchen is amazing! I love it.
Beautiful people, beautiful build.
beau projet ! beau couple ! magnifique travail et détermination ; une des meilleures émissions...
oui
Wow! Beautiful stoics. Beautiful place. Beautiful project. Well done!
At this age they managed to rennovate the home by themselves is a v remarkable thing. Awesome job hats off to u both. God bless u both with health happiness n loooooooooong life
WOW, simply WOW.
WHAT a fantastic show this was; just love the couple and they're results.
Hats off to this couple...Inspiring, fortifying....beautifully done, and the style of Art Deco is refreshing as everybody these days wants hard straight modern lines. Instead they brought their existing tastes and installed them perfectly. I am really pleased for them and hope that in 2022 they still live there safe and sound and run their B&B with success.Bravo & Brava.
2022 Trip Advisor says it was sold, and is now run down and dirty.
I looked up The Tin Church B&B (2021) and apparently the couple hasn’t lived there in a number of years, now. For some reason I get disappointed when I see that the people who turned these properties into their dream homes no longer live there.
2022 Trip advisor reviews are terrible. Place was dirty, floors dirty with paw prints, animal hair on beds, no hot water, owner unreliable unfriendly rude and smelled strongly of alcohol. People who stayed there said the pictures looked nice, but when they got there it wasn't like the photos at all.
They would be old now.
Amazing renovation
I'm officially fallen in love with art deco style. They've done a fantastic job at keeping the theme and style consistent throughout.
corrugated metal is not art deco, the whole thing is random
@@emmalouie1663 ok Karen lol
I've always loved Scotland and a Scottish Island would be perfect
I love what they've done with this old church, but I noticed that last scene they didn't have their sweet dog. I hope he was just resting
it's lovely to see some people find an alternative way to live that works for them.
i would not live on a remote Scottish island, but i can see what they see and it sure as heck works for them.
Surely requires a very balanced solid mind to pull this off.
I would if they had Talk Talk internet which is great and not expensive.
Fiona Gregory
What part of world do you live in these days ?
Great couple, great renovation, lovely dog, FABULOUS furniture!!! (Finally, a couple with style!!) Very low key and just getting on with it. Bravo! This was one of my favourites.
Building ALWAYS takes twice as long as you think it will. (And cost more).
I AM tired of George's constant harping on how slow it's going and how whomever-it-is hasn't enough money. Can you please learn another song?
What a spectacular transformation!! Simply beautiful. The work on the building is amazing, and their Art Deco finishes and furniture are absolutely stunning!! The clean lines and beautiful woods play off against the carpenter gothic of the building to perfection. There is no praise too high for what they achieved. To be honest, I even prefer the timber for the windows. That far north, metal window frames are no fun at all. The metal has no thermal break, so the cold will come right through.
I hope the covid19 situation resolves in time for the next holiday season.
The wooden windows turned out really well! Good call on going for them. Lovely couple. Thanks for the upload.
Love the Art Deco styling and furniture!! My favorite style.
Great job!
Hello there, Henry Wilson here from Clitheroe Lancashire England. I love what you are doing. What a beautiful place. I stopped at Ardmady Castle witch is on the main land. Where we Stopped it over looked that lovely place. I Love that Bridge.
The nature views are so stunning out those windows!
I love the kitchen-especially the cabinets!!
Beautiful, I have furniture envy.
It's just really a couple of people building all that - it's not disappointing at all but it's their own journey - don't rush them when they need breaks or to go to work
All that Art Deco just makes my heart race. It is jus so beautifull . Amazing.
George that's what you need to learn to do...enjoy the journey, not just the destination...forget deadline, they just give you stress, grey hair and heart attacks. Lovely hard working couple creating their dream in a beautiful setting...Do all UK people go on holidays at the same time? that's a bit of a bugger. In Oz people go when they want to. I mean, why would you want to go to a beautiful secluded space along with thousands of others? Wouldn't you want to wait until things quieten down, especially if you had no kids, so hopefully the prices would be lower too - surely there's a market for tourist all year long. Offer Artist retreats, Writers Retreats etc etc you have glorious countryside around you....I wish this lovely couple all the best from Western Australia
Wow scotlamd beautifull place.
How beautiful. I would love to meet a wonderful Scottish man and live the same way. I would be so happy. I must be able to have a horse. I am a horse girl ❤
What a beautiful landscape. As an artist, I'd be in 7th heaven.
Love this show!
My dream of visiting Scotland and staying on a remote intimate island will sadly be put on hold as well as millions of others in the world seeking to explore far off destinations...thank you for rekindling HOPE in the middle of the present CHAOS we live in Savannah Georgia and pray for all that one day borders will once again be open to all...once the politics are gone and the world realizes peace instead of opposition will make the world right once more, thanking you for you time and effort in this travel around the globe ,stay blessed and hopeful...
I am so proud of all of you. You create such beautiful and magical living spaces. Thank you very much for such experiences. Lots of love to all of you.
MOrgoret!!
Lovely couple.
Health n many happy years enjoying life xx
Wow! Beautiful!!
Views to die for! Congratulations on your grit and determination!
What a beautiful place. By far my favorite.
I think this is amazing.A fantastic dream that they both made happen👍☘️ I note 61 thumbs down for this wonderful video. Guess all of you stay in bed everyday with no vision, no passion,no desire. How could you not be happy fo 2 people who have worked hard to make their dream a reality. BRAVO☘️👍
Oh my Barb the dog is such a character 🥰
Would make sense to complete the holiday let first, gain the extra income to finish the rest of the build while still living in the caravan.
The building, both old and new, is hideous. Their Deco furniture, china etc. is absolutely spectacular!!
GOD BLESS OUR EVERY ENDEAVOR.
I absolutely luv it. Art Deco is so amazing. Well done. Xx
Wonderful!! Thats what retirement is going on holiday and not having to go home!
There is another bridge across the Atlantic: it’s on the Faroe Islands. Wonderful place to visit. 🇫🇴🇩🇰
what an amazing couple. beautiful home, too.
Gorgeous George has no neck on the thumbnail😩! Love George!
Wow what a masterpiece just love what you have done the furniture is amazing. ❤️🇦🇺❤️🇦🇺👍👍👍👍
On my past travels my heart broke here in Australia . Truth is we're supposed to have , Church & family's spending as much of the days praying & worshipping our God. to see a husband & his wife retiring Church I believe is doing good
I come from an area just a bit down the coast and around the corner from here. Our childhood church also has one of these church halls. Very similar in look and construction. We used it for Sunday school, church dances and in the winters, badminton. I'm guessing there were quite a few of them constructed around the same time period. The fish farm that their friend Tony spoke of, is really near my home town.
Loved it!!!!
Fab show! Hapness to the couple ,♡ from 🇧🇷!
Gorgeous....
Beautiful art deco furniture!
We really do have some beautiful parts on this little island the uk has some gorgeous landscapes
They did a beautiful job. Only thing I didn’t like was the glass block wall but that’s because I work in a hospital and it’s everywhere.
lovely inside and a brave project
Amazing transformation , LOVEEEEEEEEE the kitchen . Loved everything but kitchen was the icing on the cake , well done from Carrickfergus Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
