Oh wow....those books are so very special!! Imagine reading those to your children !!! Such a great idea of gifting dated and signed books as gifts!! Great find with the dark wooden chopping board. I think the brown pillow goes well with the green blanket. Thanks for sharing with us.
A lovely sage green would be nice
Pillow and blanket look great together
I love the pillow and blanket - looks lovely. I also wouldn't say no to a mirror above the mantlepiece? The old books from your grandmother are utterly gorgeous. Such a lovely touch.
Also I like the picture in the kitchen in the first spot you tried it.
Great video Ellen. I think a big clock would go great on the big wall in your kitchen and over your fireplace a mirror would be a great statement piece. Finding your style is so exciting and I’m looking forward to seeing yours and Cameron’s ideas coming together. The advice I always give to friends and family is to take your time ❤
Hi Ellen, great home vlog! Love the cushion cover with the blanket. What about a large mirror over the fireplace in your sitting room? xx
Lovely video Ellen, I love the idea of a lovely deep farrow and ball green colour for the lounge! The cushion covers go beautifully with your throw too! I was very moved by your little book section of the video! Have a lovely week xx 🍂
A large wall clock or large mirror above the fireplace would look nice, too! I like the chocolate brown pillow cover & I love the green throw. It's so cool your have your grandma's antique books. What an awesome family heirloom to pass on. I like the brown bottle your got at the antique fair too! I think textures as well as color help make a house a home. You're doing a great job with it!
Oh my goodness, Katherine by Anya Seton is amazing. I read it first when I was about 18 & recently re-read it on audio - you should add it to your tbr & reading your grandma's copy 🥺
I love our antique mirror above our fire place book ended with a few ceramic pieces from our travels
Those old books of your grandmothers are amazing! To think, she got those while WWII was going on in Europe. I find history fascinating.
Another great video Ellen. I look forward to these on Wednesday and Sunday ❤
Lovely video, as always Ellen! Agree with you on the paint colour around the fireplace, it should not be dark as there is not much light so a lighter stone colour is definitely an excellent idea. For the pillows, I am not a fan of the brown corduroy appearance, would say that both the material and colour do not go well there with the throw - you could consider a mustard colour for the pillows and a smoother material so the throw can still have its moment with the pillows complementing it rather than competing with it (and also the lovely view into the garden). Wish you a great Sunday 😊
I would definitely put the oils in a cupboard-they oxidize in light- and then put the spice thing where the oils were and the lovely painting above it. The spice thing crowds your preferred space. If you can't open all the drawers easily without moving something in front of it (salt bowl) it's in the wrong place. Let the oils go!!! Love your channel x
Love this wooden storage for spices however … my first thought was „I’d use it for jewellery cause spices will not be properly closed and can lose the taste” 😁
I’d paint the sides of your fireplace where the shelves are in…olive green and the rest some really nice warm beige ☺️
Let’s cross fingers for more autumnal days in the UK 🥰
Lovely vlog! I would go for a light warm colour for lounge, as it hasn’t lots of light, so maybe a warm cream? You can use colours in your accents - cushions etc in earthy tones, as they would suit your taste I feel. Exciting and you are so patient, I’m the opposite, once I want to do something I go all steam ahead lol!
Have a great week and I loved your grandmas books, how lovely ❤️
The colour of cushion is not the problem… its the texture/material, get something not so suede velvet looking xx
What a lovely sitting room you have! I 'd keep it light and maybe opt for a warm off white like F&B "pointing"xx
Have you thought about a pale yellow for that room? It would really made the dark wood pop
Sorry don't think the brown works..
A deep velvet olive green cushion cover would look stunning..
Great vlog xx
Beautiful pieces from the antique fair, esp loved you reading and talking about your grandmas love of books and being gifted them by her dad ❤. A rich Green would be gorgeous in your living room. Really like the painting for the kitchen option 1 but would the sun come in and fade it? Otherwise it also looked great by the oils also x
Lovely Vlog Ellen! Loving all you videos currently. Just wanted to share on paint colours we've been super pleased with Lick paints and in our lounge which also doesn't get loads of light we have Greige 01 it is the perfect grey beige with a hint of green and warmth to it too. Xx
It was such an beautiful incredible vlog Ellen♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️!!! I enjoyed it alot... thank you for making my day😀.. lots of love to you✨✨
I like the painting next to the oils. I'd be worried about the sunlight damaging it by the sink? Loving living vicariously through you now I've found your channel.
What a lovely video! Thank you! Love the sofas wondering the name of them as they look cozy! Do you like them? Thank you again for the Cozy talk by the fire!❤
Morning, have a look at farrow and ball Drop Cloth its such a lovely colour.Great video, love the books, very special to have.Have a nice week ahead x🍂🍁
Try Farrow and Ball Cord, warm, cosy ideal for lounge
I'd prefer the painting next to the sink, to be honest, but at the same time, it sees a lot of light there. I would still place it there, and then, if it's not too expensive, you can always change the picture when it starts to fade.
Ellen, the painting in the kitchen needs to go In the first place you showed us :') it looked amazing there. Some great finds too xx
Hi, Ellen! Lovvve your vlogs so much!❤ thank you for your work! Sorry if you already answered this question somewhere in other blogs, but could you please share what camera you’re vlogging with? Thank you in advance! And have a nice evening!
Farrow and ball do any amazing colour called french grey ...its actually turns our a light muddy colour liked you described and it captures the light beautifully. Grace from Belfast.
Have a look at Farrow and Ball Orangery, swatch it. It’s lovely
Your burgendy jumper looks so cozy, where did you purchase it from? X
Oops forgot to put French grey turns to a muddy GREEN colour as you described 😅 again Grace from Belfast.
