The rest of the Dystopia trilogy begun by Scream are the songs Boca and Odd Eye. It's not a story plot, they're related by the theme of how people use language to harm each other represented by the Tree of Language. Dreamcatcher's debut Chase Me and Good Night is a traditional 2-parter and should be watched in order. There are 7 members but one was in China during the Scream and Boca eras so you haven't met her yet. A good introduction to Handong can be made through the Poison Love MV. The fans, called Insomnia because we're the only ones not sleeping on Dreamcatcher, generally enjoy the members' personalities even more than the music so guides to Dreamcatcher tend to quickly go over the music and spend the great majority of time helping you get to know each member in a format begun by the OG Dreamcatcher creator, Insomnicsy (pronounced in-sahm-nik-she). Getting to know the group will require a stop at the This Is... series by Insomnicsy, seven minute videos about each member (i.e. This is JiU, This Is SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, Gahyeon). There are four annual editions 2020-2023 with a fifth edition for 2024 coming later this year so there is plenty to watch on your own and still have some to react to if you like. Last part of the intro: names. Siyeon (pronounced she-yawn) is the one everyone gets wrong because of the spelling in English alphabet. If you get the SHE part right the first time you say her name in a video you'll be a hero. JiU jee-yoo, SuA soo-ah, Handong hahn-dong, Dami dah-mee, Yoohyeon yoo-hyawn and Gahyeon gah-hyawn are like saying yawn with a small, casual breath in front, it only sounds weird when people work hard to spotlight an H sound.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
Their new song and album are only 2 weeks old and quite impressive. The Justice MV is great, this no effects just live vocals with live band version of Justice ua-cam.com/video/ZeXZ_ixi58I/v-deo.htmlsi=Ot05x9NPHxNsndNo REALLY highlights how amazing their vocals are in an industry often more focused on appearances and dancing. (Edit: they are NOT lacking in looks or dancing ability either. A computer algorithm measured them as one of the most synchronized groups in kpop). Dreamcatcher genre fuses rock or metal sounds with any other genre they feel like for that song, and top shelf vocals alternating power and softness to convey the feeling of their message. The other half of their discography are mid-tempo vibe songs in any genre you can think of and sensitive ballads that make people tear up before they even know the lyrics.
I got to know Dreamcatcher about 5 years ago. I regret nothing. They are phenomenal. I recommend the latest release from the 10th mini album released on July 10, 2024: “Justice”. To see the development. After that, basically everything. Especially live.
I realize this is a re-upload to a new channel since I remember when you checked these out the first time but if you're still doing reactions, you should check out Dreamcatcher's new release Justice.
Thank u for reacting to Dreamcatcher!! Hopefully you can react to more of them. Scream is the 1st part of a trilogy, next videos would be BOCA and Odd Eye but i highly recommend their whole discography
