One Punch Man - Saitama vs Subterraneans 60fps FI - sub ESP & ENG

- One of the first battles in which animation talent behind OPM really truly shines, thank Madhouse Studio for getting such an incredible animator rooster to participate on this project.
Make sure to watch it at least on 720p quality as it is rendered with SVP frame interpolation to achieve 60fps. Due to this, there are some minor graphical glitches.
This is my educational attempt in order to make the format more popular, which in my opinion works great in a lot of media, being anime one of the main ones.
I subtitled it in rioplatense Spanish and English, I hope you like it. - Фільми й анімація
when you're so strong, you dream of being weak.
So that you can have a good fight lel.
So that the manga about you will not finish in 1 panel.
i don't think he nerf him self, to me i think he just buff his enemy in his dream
@105931502612093651496 To be precise he is much weaker in his dream, we see an almost serious Saitama in the last chapter and he is far more powerful than this dream of his.
In his dream, his fist hardly generate any shockwave while a normal Saitama when fighting Seaking make a punch that rain dare not return.

Boros vs Saitam was close too. But yeah this was insane.
@@alonelyperson6031 I mean yeah it was a good fight, but what I'm saying is that you can tell Saitama was having more fun fighting the subterraneans, because they were crazy strong, they even made him bleed.
@@TheDankShrimp They were not closely strong as boros. But saitama was very nerfed in his dream to get this fight exciting
@@TheDankShrimp As of the latest chapter of the manga, I could see God making clones about the same power as Saitamas current power in order to recreate a similar scenario as the one shown in this dream. And the final person in the dream Saitama fought would be God himself. Like what if his dream was a vision given by god himself? That’d be mindblowing
@@Blackpill149 Saitama is the absolute opposite of normal people. Normal people dream of being super rich of being super strong but Saitama dreams of being a million times weaker lol
I like how he doesn’t even care that the world basically ended, he’s only here for the fight

I think we’ve all experienced that. We are dreaming about something amazing then you wake up to the monotony of every day life.
Lol
spoiler it is not a dream
At 5:44 you can see Saitama’s heartbeat. If you have seen the last episode of S1, Lord Boros has the same EXACT heartbeat right before he launches his finishing move “Collapsing star, roaring cannon.” Boros finally got what he wanted: the thrill of a tough battle. Saitama on the other hand, is still stuck with that craving. It really shows how much thought the creators put into the series!
Hey you commented the same shit in boros fight video
*creator
Only one guy made this lol
Good catch!
exactly, they have clearly shown that in truth, it was Boros who had won in this fight ,his reason to live is over he finally got what he always dreamed he can rest in peace while saitama is stuck forever in this hell easy world ♾ this is sad 😢
David Lee and before his death hes realized how much Saitama was powerful and unbeatable, and that he had no interest, he complained him ,he was like in his mind : « what would I become if I were in his place ..."
This clip is so good it can even be a short film by itself.
fr tho, the amount of animators who worked on this one scene alone is kinda insane
This fight at 5:04 is especially intense, I don't care if it's a shounen parody or a dream sequence, I get a huge kick out of seeing the roads collapse, with the red apocalyptic skies and the attacks from Saitama burst back the subterranean's. It's got a great tone and obviously animation too. Of course, that amazing OST.

@@raggedyexynos9487 probably not, both run in a similar fashion but the angles and running speed is completely different, while Saitama's hands slightly Jerks when he runs but in Boros' case his hands are sparatically Jerking and Saitama's angle was a side angle while Boros' was a Back angle.

4:06 is also awesome
Single Handedly one of the best scenes of One Punch Man, if not all of shonen anime in regard to the fantastic animation, the revelation, and details that are shown all within just in Saitama’s Dream. All the action sequences are beautifully crafted and smooth, really flowing together to create this masterpiece. The voice acting is also pretty decent, but even more so the actual dialogue. The Subterraneans have a very well thoughtful and rational reason for invading the surface world. Rather than boasting of their strength, the Subterraneans recognize Saitimas strength. During the fight, Saitiama also comes to realize he is actually enjoying the fight, the one thing that he lost on his path to becoming strong. Overall, greatly executed scene and couldn’t be any better.

We never did get to finish our battle, since I woke up before we could find out who was stronger.

this fight scene is probably as close to perfect as you can get it to be. most shows kinda suffer from the same lack of challenge that saitama does, bc you know nothing will happen to the main character. here he gets punched out of his house, makes a scream of struggling for the first time, gives mini-heart attack with his first punch if it didn't work, and much more.
5:45 The same heartbeat that boros had when he found the fight he was looking for.. Just realised that
Holy f*cking Sh*t dude!! Boros was enjoying it! He thought he finally find someone match for him! But in reality saitama wasn't even trying.. Man, that makes it even more sad ;_;
The moment he finally saw someone worthy to fight him..but realized that is too Overpowered for him...sad lmao
+Darth Maul ahaha indeed😂😂😂
Not only the heartbeat, the way he run towards the subterranean king is the same way Boros run against saitama. The whole point of those two shoots is to show (Imo) that Boros found what he wanted, a real fight, Boros won that day because he found what he wanted.
Just imagine how much joy both Saitama AND Borus would have felt if they had been more similar in terms of power. Both of them fighting with all they got, against an opponent that they know are also forced to give it everything he has got. It would have been such a joyous moment... @@Kcimor78 i think thats why this anime is so compeling, most of us cant felt identified with being so overly powerful in a way that we cant destroy monsters with a single punch, but to many of us we can feel the boredom of the Daily life

Yeah man even boros can't make him smile
I don't see many people pointing this out, but Saitama actually fights seriously here, for once. Not one serious punch, not some serious sideways hops, but full on serious, with leg sweeps, dodges, precise punches and kicks, etc. Doesn't this imply that there was a period when Saitama was strong, but not overpowered? When he had to use proper moves for once? Correct me if I'm wrong (I only watched the anime season 1, no manga or web comics, and a long time ago at that), but I remember Saitama stating somewhere that he lost his hair only 1½ years through training, yet he also says he didn't stop training for 3 years straight. I have a theory that this is how he fought in that period, when he was powerful but not OP
he sure had a time where he was just strong and not OP, when he saved king, he was not OP that time cuz he's still bleeding.

0:22 This scene is adorable honestly
I bet nobody understood the importance of that scene at 5:46
If not it's ok, i'll just explain the significance ;)
The fight at the season end between Saitama & Boros is my most favorite fight scene of all time. The reason i love that fight is cause of Boros. Boros is actually from a story the creator made 20 years ago called Taiyo man, The final villain was Boros, he became so powerful that he became bored (like saitama) and yearned for a true battle. The creator, One, could not think of a way to have him lose at the end in a realistic way,(since he was the final boss bad guy) so the story just ended abruptly.
Now after 20 years of actual *REAL* world time, One Punch Man came out. so he decide to have Boros travel for 20 years across the universe just to have him fight Saitama. If you noticed the heartbeat before the final move at the end, it was not Saitama's heart, it was Boros.
Saitamas heart *ONLY* did that when he fought the Subterraneans in his dream when he was finally re-living the thrill of an exhilarating battle after so long as depicted in 5:46. So, this means that after 20 years Boros finally got the exhilarating battle he wanted. And for some reason that makes me really happy for him. Sure he died, but he died doing what he loved one last time. He truly got to go wild on a worthy opponent. I really like Boros for this reason.
Jenson Philip yeah I figured that out too
Jensonsational yes , i fought it too

Even if it's just a dream, the fact that he experienced what he want to feel even for a moment, that dream is probably what keeps him going everytime.

I find Saitama to be a very unique charcter, despite him being intended as a parody of overpowered superheroes like, say Superman or Goku for instance. Saitama represents the very pinacle of strength, what all heroes eventually dream of becoming. But let's say someone like Superman eventually becomes so strong that no one in the universe can hold a candle to his sun, and he becomes bored, what would happen? Would he create his own calamity to have something to do? Would he settle down? Would he too become like Saitama and just let his days pass, ever wanting a new oponent to test his power against?
Like that, what I love the most about the show isn't just Saitama being overpowered (that too, though. It's hilarious) but also the complexity of his character and that, despite him being so strong he has no one to call his equal, he is lonely. Lonely and terribly terribly bored. This kind of proves the point that becoming the most powerful being ever, even becoming a god, in the traditional sense, which so many bad guys in so many comic wants, would be horribly boring because humans aren't bulit for it. We are social creatures who need others who are like us in order to survive and we seek it out constantly, even those of us who are loners and introverts (speaking from perspective and experience here).
So yeah, that's my take on it.
Great take on it, and I agree with pretty much all of it.
However, I believe you are projecting your own persona onto Saitama, and indirectly describing yourself as a "loner and introvert", this is probably why the character resonates in such a way with you.
The unbeatable hero himself says he can't feel Fear, Tension or Joy any more. He probably had those before, and a great deal of motivation as well for doing the training he did everyday. I know I couldn't follow up with that if he means 'every day' literally.
So maybe becoming OP really did bore him out of this human part of himself.
Yet I can't help but think that ultimately, Saitama lacks ambition, which is a fundamental potential of growth for a human individual. (See famous examples such as Elon Musk)
If he actually used his incredible powers with a goal in mind, Saitama could help accomplish much more than what he is currently doing on Earth : basically being the Deus Ex Machina to new threats.
I'd love to see him struggle with a problem he can't punch his way out of, such as a biological epidemic wiping out humanity. It's not in the spirit of the manga, and we will probably never see him do such a thing.
Superman answered this dilemma at one point, where he used his super speed to basically learn everything there is to know about human medicine in a split second, and then using his laser eyes in order to surgically save a dying human in a hospital (Couldn't for the life of me tell you more about the specific issue).
So yeah, I still love One Punch Man, and Saitama, and your analysis of the repercussions of unlimited power on an individual, but if you ever found yourself bored, ask yourself how different your perception would be if you simply had a different mindset. Project yourself as one of those "bad guys in so many comics". I'm personally thinking of Emperor Palpatine, who used his own powers to slowly conquer the entire galaxy. He was ultimately defeated, but what if truly had had "UNLIMITED POOOOOWEEER"?
So yeah, that's my take on it.
that is beautifuly said
true
Quadraxis , I too believe that's the best part of the show. But the reason why Saitama is like this is just as facinating. The artist of the original manga: ONE, is not that good at drawing. He was going to give up at a time. He looks at these great artists and thinks "I want to be the best" looks at his art and wishes he didn't have to keep failing, etc. He probably then thought what it would be like to be "The Best" and Saitama is it. It's more like therapy so he could keep working hard despite his lack of artistic ability. The reason i think this might be true is I've thought the same things, and I also came to the same conclusion, and my situation fits ONE's really closely. Although thats probably just my mind making patterns between different experiences.
True or not, the plot really says something about the author. That's probably why the show and manga are loved so much, because its " human"
it took me like 5 minutes to beat you
I keep coming back to this and every single time i am so impressed and just... just speechles as to what this fight makes me feel, the visuals, the writting, the close ups the whole thing about him finally being able to let loose... It all just builds up to this epic fight and god forbid he has another dream. Yes Ive seen what happens in the manga. But until that point, this is seriously fighting for the best fight in opm, the opponent for the first place being the fight vs boros.
This is without a doubt my favourite fight in the series becouse we get to see what Saitama truly wants. We get to see his joy and exhilaration at a good fight.
Great story
Great animation
Reliable studio
Reliable mangaka
I love opm
Season 2 ruined it
this comment didnt age well lmao
@@vieyen3198 Honestly, one of the problems of OPM (including the manga and webcomic) is that, although its main premise is quite original, funny and cool at first, it can quickly overstay its welcome if not handled properly. I think that is what happens after a certain point in the story. Everything just becomes too pointless and predictable because you know that, no matter what happens, Saitama will come in the last minute and instantly save the day.
Even if he is OP on purpose he should have some kind of handicap or internal struggle more than "I'm so bored because I can't find a decent challenge" to keep things interesting.
Sextus70 Sextus70 im having this kind of problem with opm too. it couldve been a masterpiece if it ended in season 1 where everything is on point. now it doesnt matter which path they choose to take, be it the same formula over and over again or give the MC more compelling challenge against his strength to spice things up, fans are going to hate it eventually.
@@vieyen3198 Not sure if ending it altogether in season 1 was the way to go with all those subplots the story left open, but definitely the approach it has followed to continue it has been a mistake IMO.
While the series tries to keep itself fresh by giving spotlight to its secondary characters, it ends up being just a distraction which fails to address the fundamental issue: that Saitama formula you point out. It was hilarious at first watching how he fixed everything so anticlimactically, but it quickly becomes old and it undermines the rest of the narrative the series attempts to offer. I find it unfortunate, because some characters of the series are actually pretty interesting.
The moment I saw Saitama bleed, All this subterranean are 10x stronger than Borus.
Nope, Dream Saitama is just 400x weaker.
Yeah, I was really surprised to see him bleeding
+Shane Haris makes no sense
Noctis Strife Dream Saitama's "series punch" merely caused a small crater on a wall, whereas his actual serious punch parted clouds on a global scale and evaporated part of an extremely durable spaceship, for example.
+Shane Haris the fact that it was just a dream makes everything you say irrelevant
Saitama finding his excitement for battle, is signalled through his heartbeat at 5:47
You can notice the exactly same heartbeat and the same shot, just on blue heart when Boros is about to shoot his ultimate at Saitama.
Saitama here is finally happy regaining the spirit of battle, while Boros in his battle with Saitama before his demise finally felt happy and excited.
5:47 esa sensación es la misma que boros sintió en su pelea con Saitama, es lo que ambos deseaban y solo uno consiguió, en esa pelea gano boros
It doesn’t matter how many times I see it, every single time the theme song kicks in I get shivers. That’s how I got into reading manga, I’d play songs from the anime as I read.
its ironic how saitama was supposed to be a parody character of overpowered/superpowered characters but the cancerous fanbase still compare him with goku and superman.
It's the internet. It was bound to happen.
+Ghost Assassin lol yep
Saitama Sonic is looking for you. Punch him in the balls again.
Edit: Just read the Manga. Never mind, you already did it.
Its annoying as hell too. Especially since before the anime came out, whenever someone brought him up, it was common knowledge that Saitama wins simply because he is a parody character.
I parody you
"Men only want one thing and its fucking disgusting"
Men : We want Saitama to have his emotions back!
Saitama said he didn't feel emotions but the second he forgets about the bargain mart he explodes
Man,i still remember when the first episode went viral with this part and everyone was losing their mind, can't say i blame them, this part still gives me chills
No anime in my book nailed a first episode in a season like this one.
Attack on Titan?
@@rickosiagian5006 the first episode sucked
@@hectorborrero4672 first episode of attack on titan blew up whole anime community back then. You must be fuckin crazy to think it sucked.
Steins Gate
@@Nik-md4to i saw it and i think it sucked
Nothing to keep me interested in continuing watching it
Chapter 167 finally shows a serious Saitama, it’s amazing.
That last pause, is him contemplating it was just a dream
Whenever i watch One Punch i wanna run the stairs and hit the gym, i feel so powerful and heroic
Driver7 like how we do after watching Bruce Lee 😂
Lmao 😂
I come here just to remember how glorious season 1 was.
Season 2 isn't bad but it's so bland compared to this :(
They used up the budget for season 1 and only had scraps for season 2.
@@finnheisenheim8274 Nah not budget, but a bunch of talented animators (checkout myanimelist and other sites) and a good enough schedule to produce something high quality.
Season 1 set the bar high for season 2. Too bad they switched animators
@@negan5991 Rather switching studios and replacing directors, the animators were just freelancers.
@@MrJerkdude1 oh i see
There's just something so deep, unique, and genius about the idea of a character suffering from lack of suffering.
やっぱり1期って作画も演出もbgmも声優も全部イカれてんな
Saitama is a pretty unique character. He's the only person I know of whose dream version is weaker than his real self.
He isn't weak he just dreams of stronger opponent xd
LMNTRIX yes he is. Look at 2:16 not even boros final attack which had a planet destructing power could do that
@@lmntrix898 strong opponents + weaker self
I mean boros punched him to the moon and didnt even shred a single blood ._.
Man everytime i watched this scene it never gets boring its always exhilarating
Exhilarating you say? *lettuce hair intensifies*
This scene and the one before it genuinely made me cry
which episode this is
First
5:08
SUBTERRANEAN FLIP
The greatest fight in all of One Punch Man and it was only a dream LOL
This may be the 3rd best fight in this season and Its just a dream
1st boros vs saitama
2nd hero's vs Deep sea king
@@poundtownforever6126 no
@@poundtownforever6126 Saitama vs Genos is also really cool
When this fight was going on, I was thinking "this is the coolest anime ever!". Then as soon as that alarm clock started, it graduated to one of my most favourite animes of all time
Fun fact: at 5:46 the heartbeat that plays, plays again for Boros near the end of his fight for Saitama. Although, for saitama, his was only in a dream. Whereas boros was able to achieve his actually. Just a fun little detail. The writers of this anime sure know how to write and provide emotions through little details as such!
the fact that Saitama dreamed about this lol even in his dream he’s still as powerful irl
He nerf himself in the dream to make it looks exciting fight
