That said, saitama's serious punch most likely isn't even close to his potential strength, so Garou will probably be defeated with ease... After a couple months it seems like I got it right, even though saitama was angry to give a more serious atmosphere, he still bested him with little effort I guess the only enemy that'll give saitama real trouble is God, which I expect to be on par with Saitama

A more subjective reason would be how the narration shifts away from saitama without giving the viewer much reasons to care for all the other characters on their own (imo) this is an aspect of the OPM story that people wont like in the anime if they didnt like it in the manga, there is not much that can be done about it.
Its not about the studio, the story general feels bad. It focuses on the villain and saitama really being NPC. At least thats for the remake, the OG by ONE are much better storywise. Though fightwise the remake are better.

When I watch S2 compilations with just saitama, it suddenly feels way better for me.

Other than that I don't know why people say, "Well they made Saitama a side character", that wasn't the studio's fault, that's genuinely how it is in the Manga AND the Webcomic. Look at it this way, one my main problems with Season 1, was that there was a lot of badass, strong villains that we have no comparison to because Saitama just one shots em. Even Genos and the other characters didn't have any screentime till the very end. So by making Saitama a side character instead of killing the entire cast, we allow the side characters to grow, and the villains for that matter; so that it's all the more satisfying to watch them be clapped by Saitama.

The reason I find the manga so good is because they actually have good side characters, and you get some amazing fights with them. And you have Saitama come I'm towards the end of the arcs as the punchline. Would be pretty boring if we followed him most of the time.
I still get chills from "Serious Punch." My favorite part about that scene, is it throws the entire rest of season one into perspective. It makes it so that he truly is "One Punch Man" in the sense that he went through an entire seasons worth of baddies and only had to throw ONE actual punch. Everything else he did in this show was the equivalent of playfighting with a toddler for him. The only time he actually had to throw a punch was against Boros, and even then, it only took one, one punch that didn't even directly hit his target. Incredible show.
A lot of people get a few details on Saitama's fight with Boros wrong, to list a few; Saitama punches Boros a total of 4 times throughout the fight, (with his basic effort) the first one is the armor, the second is Boros's arm (not the parrying thing), third time is when he gets back from space and punches Boros away from him, fourth time is consecutive NORMAL punches (the equivalent of a punch of strong NORMAL people punching, you'll notice his first afterwards, only one has moved as a result). The second misconception is that his heart beats from a real fight like in his fight, but it's actually Boros's heart from finally finding the prophesized "worthy opponent". And the last misconception is that there is a fifth punch aka Saitama's Serious Punch, which if you pay close attention, he punched Boros's beam, not him physically, if you look at right after the beam splits, you can clearly see it was the FORCE of his punch that vaporized Boros; and Boros is fully regenerated by this point.
Such a gem of a season. Don't know how to describe it, but this show manages to feel like an anime straight out of the mid 2000s, like the Death Note/Code Geass era. Could be the character designs, fact that it's made by Madhouse, the almost complete reliance on 2D, etc. Here's hoping a Season 3 gets a different director/sound designer cause I feel those issues harmed Season 2 far more than the animation did (although that wasn't consistently great either).

The last episode, when the opening starts during the fight with Boros, that moment stole my heart. Such a masterpiece, literally get goosebumps every time I watch that moment. The fight animation just blew my mind.
If you really want to do a smash analogy, it would be more like doing the old black hole glitch in smash melee, jumping in the black hole, instantly getting over 999% damage and flying off screen to your death.
It's honestly incredible how the writers are able to make anime fights that conclude with a single punch from one side both engaging and entertaining. Saitama's character and plight are truly compelling. Really hope we get a season 3 one day 🙏

He says he always reach the place at the end, but even when he reach the place early, he just gives them a chance to prove that, along which they destroys half other people. But that's the only difference between Saitama and other shounen op mcs. He could have destroyed meteor from anywhere he say it, but still chose to stay back until Genos was going to get killed.
He was never given the right coordinate or in the monster association arc Case he didnt even know the existence of the stronger monster which causing death of hundreds of civilians.this is why he praised garou and king for something that he called a heroic instinct

What I think is neat is that the force from his fist and Boros's blast is what killed Boros. It's not the initial power from Saitama's fist, but the declining force that's traveling at Boros.
I still love how the end of season 1 is that Saitama grew so strong that not even the supposed stronger fighter in the universe was a match for him. Is a sad note that I really liked.

The first season has the better fighting scenes and having one boss like character at the end where he just rammed through the ship to find the boss which was funny. The 2nd season isn't bad but lacks more fighting scenes with Saitama which the fighting scene I liked was Sonic getting his ass kicked by Saitama again with Blizzard watching how strong Saitama really is.

I absolutely loved this show. The way it pokes fun at all anime stories in one is so well done. From the shit talk on how he has no backstory or development really, everyone's got these crazy complicated names and plans in motion but he's just way to strong and bored to care.

Saitama doesn't care about people. He says he always reach the place at the end, but even when he reach the place early, he just gives them a chance to prove that, along which they destroys half other people.
But that's the only difference between Saitama and other shounen op mcs. He could have destroyed meteor from anywhere he say it, but still chose to stay back until Genos was going to get killed.

@@Zathren ikr. I was late into the opm fandom so i watched season 2 right after i finished season 1, and it wasn't that different for me. Both are great and pleasing to watch. I was surprised when i opened the internet looking for people talking about opm but there's just too much insults to the 2nd season. Like, it's great that we got more anime adaptation, a good one at that, when many anime don't even get a 2nd season. What else they're hoping for? 🤷♂ I just don't understand them critics wannabe.
Madhouse did a great job that's why Season 1 was masterpiece and I hope Season 3 to be animated by Madhouse
Nah, season 1 is good because they have good director then recruited a lot of talented freelancer animator and a bunch of veteran such as Yutaka Nakamura for the Boros fight
Season 1 is basically a dream team, Even with the same studio i doubt they can achieve the same result unless they bring back the old staff

The editing is superb. Every punch is in context. We see everything relevant. Geno's gets fucked constantly. They even label the enemies. Including the one we all know. Well done
What I think is neat is that the force from his fist and Boros's blast is what killed Boros. It's not the initial power from Saitama's fist, but the declining force that's traveling at Boros.
I still love how the end of season 1 is that Saitama grew so strong that not even the supposed stronger fighter in the universe was a match for him. Is a sad note that I really liked.

The first season has the better fighting scenes and having one boss like character at the end where he just rammed through the ship to find the boss which was funny.
The 2nd season isn't bad but lacks more fighting scenes with Saitama which the fighting scene I liked was Sonic getting his ass kicked by Saitama again with Blizzard watching how strong Saitama really is.
