It was night and I was walking with my mom home from shopping and then I saw this man under the dim street light .To this day that scene has a big influnce on me and I really don't know why .I think all of us can find some chunks of our childhood in tom waits music...

The man is an absolute genius! This very short, simple tune packs a tremendous punch to your gut and you're left sitting there with your mouth hanging open and wondering "What the hell was that?" Which is pretty much how I feel about all his music!

Tom Waits is a mate of The Great Man, Keith Richards. If he's good enough for Keef, he's good enough for me. Beautiful song. Says it all in two short verses. Any more would have been unnecessarily indulgent.
