  • Jesse and Mike got the news that sled 1 of 3 has arrived and they head down to Team Vincent Motorsports to build the sled with them. What a great time unboxing this beauty of a machine, and also going through the build and PDI process. It was also cool to see how Smart Shox get calibrated for the sled. Huge thank you to our dealer TVM, for continuing to provide us with the opportunity to get involved with the build process. We had a blast as always!

    NIce to see Ski-Doo screwing crates together. I was a setup guy as a kid I always swore the shippers at the factory were paid by the nail. It was easier to smash the crate to pieces then pull them apart.

    Why didn’t you get a 4 stroke for all those long trails? You must add more than 5,000klm per season?

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  10 місяців тому +2

      It depends. Now that I am back in school I have less time to ride. Last year I only rode about 4000 kms. The season before I rode 13,000 kms. I'm much more of a two stroke guy. I like the snappiness and lightness when putting on 450+ km days plus I also love backcountry riding. I usually trade and get a new sled every season so the kms of a 2 stroke don't concern me. Cheers, Jesse

    • @shperax
      @shperax 10 місяців тому

      @@sledaddicz wow. In 1 season you took a 2 stroke straight into a top end rebuild amount of km. That's amazing. I'm lucky enough to get out nearly every day in the winter and I haven't come close to over 10,000 in a season.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  10 місяців тому +1

      @shperax thx buddy. I rode as much as I could that year that's forsure. The sled still lasted all of last season tho and blew up on the last day at 16,800 kms! Still was able to run it back to the hotel on one cylinder. Cheers, Jesse

    You’re right on the screen not sure why it’s not a proper gps. I had to get a new screen after last season under warranty. Same issue Mike was having how it would just black out in a ride.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  10 місяців тому

      Yup! That issue was happening on older model sleds too. Our understanding was it had something to do with bad connections and snow dust getting in. Cheers, Jesse

    I wonder if youd be able to use the Budds suspention travel for the smart shocks to be able to balance out the weight transfer of the sled with you on it. Would be so much easier then throwing it on scales and doing it that way

  • @Upracefan
    @Upracefan 9 місяців тому

    Hopefully you are not going with a Ice Storm track, as I had that combo last season on my 23 Renegade XRS, and it didn’t go particularly well, the inboard idler in the skid is not spaced properly for the drivers on that track, and drivers on the outside are also very tight to the outboard idlers on the axle. The inboard idler was resolved by using a G4 generation wheel, the offset or profile is slightly different, couldn’t do anything with the rear, and anyone that followed would say they could smell like a rubber or plastic melting smell, and it wasn’t the hyfax, it was the wheels rubbing on the drivers of the track, you couldn’t track it either direction.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  9 місяців тому

      No ice storm for me. That's great to know though! It was on my list as I had heard lots of positive things about it with the shorter outer lugs. Cheers, Jesse

    Too much smart stuff for my liking for the amount of snow/ riding I do in a year I'd be more than happy with the regular shocks and guages. Less to go wrong that way in my opinion. Still a nice sled though

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  9 місяців тому

      Thats definitely one way to look at it! Nothing wrong with regular shocks and gauges. But at the end of the day as technology progresses it gets incorporated into modern sleds. The new gauges have not let be down once and let me do so much more then I could have done before with the analog gauge. Cheers, Jesse

    So what did you build? Id be impressed if they just sent the parts not together.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  10 місяців тому +1

      Hey Mike. I'm not sure I really get the point of your comment. All consumer sleds come from the factory like this and have to be "built" - which means put some parts on, check track tension, etc. and PDI the sled. Obviously we aren't building a consumer sled from scratch. Cheers, Jesse

    • @mikeh4053
      @mikeh4053 10 місяців тому +1

      @@sledaddicz If "build" is the proper word for it, then there is clearly many levels to this. Bought many sleds from the race dept in crates. Never felt like I "built" something. Not even when we trail converted them. Just my opinion.

    • @sledaddicz

      Thanks for the comment! Actually if you watch the channel, Jesse is coming off of a 2022 Renegade XRS 850 that blew up the last day of our Cochrane ride after 16,500 kms. He was due for an upgrade anyways so not sure why you think it's a waste of money. This is precisely the right sled for him to replace his old one with. Thanks! Cheers, Mike

      @@sledaddicz o thought you guys shared sleds. I’m guessing you are the one that had the 23 XRS silver and red one then? I was wondering because you have the exact sled to the same color lol..

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  9 місяців тому

      We do share sleds. Mike had the 23 XRS yes. However, Mike is upgrading his 2 sleds as well. It is not abnormal for us to upgrade from one year to the next, even if the sled hasn't changed much if at all. We put 6000kms + on each sled every season and with only two years of manufacturers warranty, we usually sell our sleds yearly. We upgraded our 21 xrs's to our 22 xrs's and they were the exact same minus the colour change. The 2024 MXZ XRS is also not the same colour as last years xrs. Last years was a darker grey this year is more of a metallic silver. The sleds do not look the same at all. There is also the new adjustable brake lever on the 24s. Cheers, Jesse
