Imo the bulls had the best run in the league’s history, but I think the best team ever is the 67-15 warriors from 2017. It might be recency bias, but that team got so incredibly lucky with the salary cap and Curry’s contract that I don’t think it can ever be repeated.
@@cgs20 the 96 Bulls woidl beat the 2017 warriors 5-2 that Warriors bench is thin and there is no better perimeter defense the league has ever seen since the Bulls. You have 3 of the best defensive players of all time and Harper probably was the 3rd best defensive PG by position that year behind Payton and Stockton. Harper would shutdown Curry by denying him the ball. Guard can easily shutdown Klay and Pip would use his length against KD. Rodman disrupts Greens play making. Offensively, GSW has no one who can guard Jordan, Klay isn't athletic enough, maybe Iggy but can't see him doing it the whole game and he isn't strong enough. Kerr as a coach would know the triangle but there's just no one stopping Jordan and most likely would majority of GSW in foul trouble. Green is maybe strong enough but too slow for Jordan, same as KD if theh want to add length but that leaves Pip havign a mismatch.
Wow, what a video. Wish it would be longer, but he said everything that needed to be said, but still... Wish it was longer, cause that's how much I enjoyed it.
One thing you failed to mention is that not only it was Jordan's revenge season, it was also the season when Pippen got matured due to his leadership role 2 years prior. Also, it was Rodman's revenge season for the reason that the media were saying that after his Spurs stint, he was done. So it was Rodman's opportunity to prove them wrong. And that he did.
Two of those losses they were robbed. One a ref called a foul n Jordan with 0.5 seconds on the clock and it wasn’t a shooting foul just after the 5 th foul
Rodman's offensive rebounding was vital for the Bulls in the 96 Finals. Countless second chance opportunities. MJ shot only 41.5% from the field in the 96 Finals.
@@markomilivojevic4810 Bulls would lock them down really well. Scottie could do a better job locking up KD than anyone in this era (he would still score but not as much). I feel that a hypothetical matchup would come down to defense, and let's be real...we know how it would turn out. Bulls' 1-4 are really good to great on defense VS Curry, Klay and KD on offense. Not to mention the versatility of Harper, Jordan, Pippen and Rodman being able to switch on defense. Bulls in 6, although I'm a little biased since I'm a bulls fan. Although this is the year before I started watching basketball (hearing my dad praise the "winningest team ever" got me interested and I never looked back).
This team hands down is the greatest in NBA history. They could compete with any team in any era. That is, if they were allowed to play their style of defense. Nowadays, touch a player like LeBron's aura as he drives to the hoop and it's a foul.
Actually that would give Pippen and Jordan a HUGE advantage. NOT being able to hand check or rough up Pippen or Jordan - or even KuKoc? Man the Bulls would COOK the best team in the league right now.
@@Hahaa99 Yeah, I don’t think the Bulls could have beaten that Celtics team. Bird routinely torched Pippen and Rodman and nobody on the Bulls could stop McHale or DJ. Then there was the Chief. Those Bulls teams never had an effective center. That’s one of the reasons that MJ feared Olajuwon. He knew that they couldn’t stop him. While he was never as good as Olajuwon, Parrish would have dominated any of the Bulls centers.
@@MS-ns2pj I love DJ but I don’t think he could’ve stopped Jordan at both ends of the coutt. Bird would maybe do well against Pippen but keep in mind this was a Pippens greatest season as a defender and he nearly won the DPOY in 1996 and was a much mature player than he was in the 80s. Either way this match up is the Best offensive SF vs the Best defensive SF. Mchale with his freakish arms would score well against Rodmann but I m unsure since Rodman frustrated Shaq in the playoffs. Parish would easily destroy Longley. and the Bull’s had a way better bench offensively than the Celtics. I don’t think there is a definite winner in this one but imagine this Celtic team with Len Bias in the lineup 😯
Not to mention Pippen miss 35 games because of a back injury. Jordan at 35 was the only one to play all 105 games playoffs included and still won league MVP, All Star MVP, Finals MVP and his 6 title while being all NBA first team and had Chicago as #1 seed in the east with a 62-20 record. One amazing thing I hadn't thought of before - They had the best offense in the league, with three starters who were really just there for defensive purposes. Harper, Rodman, and Longley were barely offensive threats (Harper was in his younger days, but not with the Bulls). That leaves Jordan and Pippen, and Pippen was never a dominant scorer. They did have Kukoc and Kert off the bench, but Kukoc was the only one who could even come close to creating his own offense. Kerr was just a great spot-up shooter. That's pretty incredible.
How good was chauncey billups, chris bosh, elvin hayes, wes unsled, bill Walton, mark Eaton, mitch Richmond, paul pierce, ben wallace, tony parker, bob mcadoo
I forgot they had Ron Harper. I'm sure fans today don't remember him much, but he was a really good player. Solid offense and excellent defense; he was a mid level star with the Clippers, on the general level of, say, Gordon Hayward or Brandon Ingram today (very different style, just that sort of fame and success).
Although Mr. Arnett already made a video on this, the '83 76ers is a top 5 team of all time. I wanna see the warriors try and take on that team. Show-time and early 2000s lakers also make top 5 for me as well.
It wasn't just Phil Jackson that helped keep Rodman in check, but also MJ. Whenever you see Rodman getting into a heated exchange with somebody, MJ was almost always the first person there to get between Rodman and whoever it was and pull him back.
I really think the '96 Bulls are the greatest team of all time. Sure the Warriors broke that win record by one but in the end they did not win the championship like the Bulls did. I really think the '96 Bulls would beat any team if the games were played with the rules of 95-96 season. Meaning tougher defense would be allowed. MJ, Pippen and Rodman would be able to stop and outrebound anyone. MJ would score his 35 and Pippen his 20 with relative ease. Then add 15 from Kukoc, 8-9 from Longley, 7 from Harper and another 7-8 from Kerr.
@@munoken They beat the 17 Cavs in 5 which were literally a deeper version of the defending champs, that team is much better than any team the Bulls ever beat. Better offense>better defense, and they were still elite defensively with DPOY Draymond, KD, Klay &Iggy.
Phil sat back and mike was like i got this phil, when they say mike didn't play anyone, they were the ones, had they beat that bulls team, yea you good, but no one did.
Ron Harpers nickname is THE STRAIGHT JACKET. No backcourt is having a great series against he and Jordan. The there’s PIPPEN. Then RODMAN. Bro. Then the6 had three varied bigs in the middle and a GREAT bench.with Kerr and Kukoc 🐐
I hate when people call this team a superteam. They aren't a superteam, they're the defintion of TEAM. They had their leader in MJ, #2 in Scottie, and a good collection of role players who played their role perfectly.
I'm just glad Wilt Chamberlain didn't live long enough to hear Dennis Rodman called the greatest rebounder of all time. Russ is probably pissed though.
I prefaced it with the word “possibly”. I also would go with Wilt, but Rodman certainly has an argument. I’ve talked about this in previous videos, but Rebounds as a whole were crazy inflated in the 60s and 70s. There were more possessions, faster pace of play, and worse field goal percentages league wide, getting as low as 40% league average. When Rodman was putting up his amazing rebounding numbers, the average was slightly above 80 rebounds a game. When Wilt was doing his thing, there was between 130 to 145 Rebounds A GAME. That’s an insane advantage, and it’s why plenty of guys were averaging over 15 Rebounds a game a season in the 60s, while Rodman was basically the only guy exceeding that number in the 90s. Point is that if Rodman played in the 60s, there’s a good chance he’s rivaling Wilt Chamberlain rebounding numbers. At the VERY LEAST, Rodman has an argument.
@@jonnyarnett I’d say the fact that the only person anyone can bring up as possibly being a better rebounder than Rodman is wilt is a pretty good indication of how dominant he was
Charles Barkley once said: "In 96, Michael Jordan was the greatest player in the NBA. In 93, Michael Jordan was the greatest who ever played." I always preferred the original 3-peat Bulls to the second 3-peat team.
I have been wanting to say this on a public forum about this team for a long time. I don't get why this team isn't talked about in the "small ball" discussion. Technically this team is a small ball team. Their best players or best starting 5 are all 6'6 - 6'10 They are all basically position-less and they can all shoot, minus Rodman. This team is literally playing small ball with their starting line up. They have two very decent bigs with Luke Longly and Bill Winnington, and smaller players like Kerr and Randy Brown (Ron if you are a NBA Storyteller fan); so they can play a traditional position style game if necessary but their best line up is position-less and is technically "small ball"
Watching these 3 suffocate opponents on defense and then start a fast break most of the time was so much fun!!! That triangle offense let’s the 🏀 ball find the open shooter #defensewinschampionships
I think the 82-83 76ers could've given them a series. They had 4 All Stars that season. MVP, Coach of the year and Defensive Player of the year. They went 12-1 in the playoffs and swept Magic's Lakers in the Finals.
This is the greatest team in NBA history. It's not only the fact that this team has the greatest player and coach of all-time, they were also the mentally toughest teams of all-time. Michael, Pippen, and Rodman would psychologically destroy their opponents which Phil Jackson would be outcoaching the opposing team's coach.
Want your mind blown some more? Of the 10 losses, only 2 occurred with a full starting roster: 1 w/o Harper, 3 w/o Rodman, 3 w/o Longley, and 1 w/o Longley AND Rodman. THREE of these short-handed losses occurred by ONE point. ONE. To the Pacers, Raptors, and Hornets. 75-7 was extremely possible, and it could have been higher. One of the loses in the finals was a game where Harper played 1min. The other Sonics win, that The Glove takes credit for, saw Scottie shoot 20 times and make 5. Their one playoff loss prior to that, to the Knicks, featured Scottie and Harper shooting 37 combined shots and making 11. If you gave them wins in place of the one point losses, one more out of the remaining 8 factoring rest, and a healthy Harper in that finals game that they lost by a small margin, and you’re looking at a record of 92-8 by the time they hoist the trophy. It’s just a hypothetical. But I think it’s an idea that’s fun to play with.
People don't realize how athletic Jordan and Pippen were. They both didn't have to rely on fancy dribbling broke people down. They both had a quick first step. Plus they used their athleticism combined with their ball handling to catch people off balance. So who is going to guard them from scoring. Plus, in the 90s when they played, they really didn't hand check. They quick enough to stay front of their opponents. Both their numbers would up across the board, but they were also more then likely be on different teams.
In my opinion this is the best team of all time only because when you say that is the very first team to come to mind. 2013 Heat, 2017 Warriors, 1983 Sixers and 2001 Lakers also can go to the conversation
The one thing that makes them vulnerable is that Jordan was not at his peak for the second threepeat. He was still the best player on Earth, but he wasn't as efficient, quick, or explosive as he was during the first threepeat.
If there’s one team who could beat these Bulls in a 7 game series, who would it be?
The 71 bucks
The 86-87 Lakers
16-17 Warriors
Probably the 2000-01 lakers and the 2017 warriors

Imo the bulls had the best run in the league’s history, but I think the best team ever is the 67-15 warriors from 2017. It might be recency bias, but that team got so incredibly lucky with the salary cap and Curry’s contract that I don’t think it can ever be repeated.
Those bulls years were boring because they were expected to win every single game and when they did nobody was surprised
@@SiamHomeSource no they werent... like the 98 bulls
86 Celtics and 88 Lakers were much fun to watch

I've noticed! I seriously appreciate it :)
@@jonnyarnett You're Welcome, there are only a few people left on yt, who want to upload quality content, you are one of them!
Best team ever. I did see them lose at MSG by like 30 though.
They only lost 10 games and a few of those games were 2 points or less.
I remember that game, Derek Harper was on fire for the knicks that night.
It was those damn black pinstripe jerseys. Whenever they wore those, I swear they were due for a loss.
Greatest player EVER on The Greatest Team EVER!
17 warriors just because of spacing in this era
@@markomilivojevic4810 get off the crack
@@markomilivojevic4810 Bulls would lock them down really well. Scottie could do a better job locking up KD than anyone in this era (he would still score but not as much). Having 3 of the best defenders in history on the same team is mental, 96 Bulls vs KD Warriors is a really tough one especially since they match up so well.
Would love to see Green crying in the corner "But i am the best Rebounder" while Rodman just smiles at him
still taking the bulls...kd steph and klay are all great on offense but curry is a liability of defense..96 bulls has no weakness...jonny even forgot to pooint out in his summary that they have that years 6th man of the yr
Dude it’s not tough. Bulls in 6. They would bully those string beans.
If the Houston Rockets can take them to7 games with CP3 and Harden, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind the Bulls would beat them in 4 or 5 games.
Cant wait for the showtime lakers
This team hands down is the greatest in NBA history. They could compete with any team in any era. That is, if they were allowed to play their style of defense. Nowadays, touch a player like LeBron's aura as he drives to the hoop and it's a foul.
Actually that would give Pippen and Jordan a HUGE advantage. NOT being able to hand check or rough up Pippen or Jordan - or even KuKoc? Man the Bulls would COOK the best team in the league right now.
The 1985-86 Celtics would have beaten the 1995-96 Bulls.
@@MS-ns2pj
Thats a tough match up.
Rodman Vs Mchale.
DJ Vs Michael
Pippen vs Bird
@@Hahaa99 Yeah, I don’t think the Bulls could have beaten that Celtics team. Bird routinely torched Pippen and Rodman and nobody on the Bulls could stop McHale or DJ. Then there was the Chief. Those Bulls teams never had an effective center. That’s one of the reasons that MJ feared Olajuwon. He knew that they couldn’t stop him. While he was never as good as Olajuwon, Parrish would have dominated any of the Bulls centers.
@@MS-ns2pj
I love DJ but I don’t think he could’ve stopped Jordan at both ends of the coutt.
Absolutely YES. NO TEAM IN THE NBA TODAY CAN COMPETE WITH THOSE BULLS.

This dude deserves 1mil subscribers he has awesome on point content
I personally prefer the 98 Bulls because of how gritty they were and how that season was the perfect storybook ending for that dynasty.
He basically carry the Bulls in that season for their 6th title. Factor in if Pippen and Rodman didn't miss any specific playing time. the 98 Bulls possibly finish with 69 to 70 wins.
@@supratrd900 Exactly that team would've played on as good of a level as the 96 Bulls if everyone had been healthy and they were still excellent regardless. Definition of greatness for sure.
Both Pippen and Rodman were starting to become washed in 98.

But if they had been healthy in 98 they would have had a similar if not identical record. Talent wise they were the same, and they were basically unstoppable because it was the most veteran Bulls team of the entire dynasty.

@Mou khles. Warriors would lose in 6. Two of those Bulls wins wouldn't even be close. I'll give the Splash Bros two games on sheer talent and having a Hot Night. Two games of the Bulls defense just squeaking out a 5 pt or less win. Then one games they just blow GS state out. One amazing thing I hadn't thought of before -
They had the best offense in the league, with three starters who were really just there for defensive purposes.
2014 spurs good enough to be a goat team?
Hello Jonny. I really enjoy your videos. I was wondering if you could do a video on how good Robert Parish was.

One things for sure, two things for certain. Got the realest channel here, you all ready know. Won best bball channel 4 times in a row....

I hate when people call this team a superteam. They aren't a superteam, they're the defintion of TEAM. They had their leader in MJ, #2 in Scottie, and a good collection of role players who played their role perfectly.
I’ve been waiting for this one
I'm just glad Wilt Chamberlain didn't live long enough to hear Dennis Rodman called the greatest rebounder of all time. Russ is probably pissed though.
when you consider their positions 4 and 5 and the era theyve played in. no doubt rodman is the best rebounder of all time
I prefaced it with the word “possibly”.
@@jonnyarnett I’d say the fact that the only person anyone can bring up as possibly being a better rebounder than Rodman is wilt is a pretty good indication of how dominant he was
@@Davpo2973 I brought up Bill Russell too.
@@oconnorkevin if your only arguments of players that are better are legendary players like those 2 I’d say he was pretty good at his job
Charles Barkley once said: "In 96, Michael Jordan was the greatest player in the NBA. In 93, Michael Jordan was the greatest who ever played."
I always preferred the original 3-peat Bulls to the second 3-peat team.
Thats not how that works
this is what i`m talking about the power trio.
Either 90s Bulls or 80s Celtics that would be amazing
91/93 was bliss, that is just boooom
8:00 Lets have a 1minute silence for that guy 🤣🤣🤣
The mixtape by NBA is EPIC!
Soooo good. One of the UA-cam videos I've watched countless
"Would Jordan even let it go 7 games?"
Even the most objective of analysts wouldn't be able to resist a wry comment like that one^
You should check out Bill Simon's episode he did talking about how he thinks the Bulls that beat the Lakers in 91 were their best squad.
Watching these 3 suffocate opponents on defense and then start a fast break most of the time was so much fun!!! That triangle offense let’s the 🏀 ball find the open shooter #defensewinschampionships
Definitely the greatest team of all time!
I think the 82-83 76ers could've given them a series. They had 4 All Stars that season. MVP, Coach of the year and Defensive Player of the year. They went 12-1 in the playoffs and swept Magic's Lakers in the Finals.
Imagine the 1st team all defense being three guys from the same team. You're not scoring on them.
Unless you have Chamberlain or Jabbar, LOL!
Pls continue this series 1987 Lakers and 2008 Celtics
Definitely my pick for GOAT team. 87-13? Come on! That's ridiculous.
'96 Bulls & '86 Celtics with the '16 Warriors would be my 15 man team. (All starting line-ups)
I am waiting for the bull team. Tq jonny
The best intro ever
In my opinion this is the best team of all time only because when you say that is the very first team to come to mind. 2013 Heat, 2017 Warriors, 1983 Sixers and 2001 Lakers also can go to the conversation
The one thing that makes them vulnerable is that Jordan was not at his peak for the second threepeat. He was still the best player on Earth, but he wasn't as efficient, quick, or explosive as he was during the first threepeat.
Don't know if they are undisputably the greatest, but they were the best I have ever seen.
