Good job on your rig! I appreciate your video! I have the same motor, prop and esc. First run I smoked my dean plugs, will upgrade to the bullets also like how you can run batt in series, less wires more efficient. One thing I did do was upgrade the water tubing to a bigger size, it has larger flow but still got hot, I will go to dual. Thanks!
Thanks, my Turnigy 180 ESC did go bad, not sure what caused it. I think it just can't handle 6S Lipo power for too long. Just got Swordfish Pro+ 300A ESC in, hopefully to test and run it with my Leopard 4082 / 1600KV this weekend.
thanks, I was having too much fun but my Turnigy ESC quit before I could record a speed run. Sent it back to Hobbyking and still awaiting credit. In the mean time I bought another same ESC and it just arrived today. I applied more sealant around the new ESC just in case. Hopefully, it won't quit too like last one or I will have to try Castle Hydra.
ok.I wrote to you because I want to buy a genesis on hobbyking, but I was undecided whether to use the engine as a leopard 4082 1600 kv or the leopard 4082 2200kv I would use both on 6s . so i'm waiting for your video to see which configuration is best. thanks for writing me
guazzoa1 From my testing - 2200KV just don't have enough torque to push bigger prop like M445 or Y547. It maxed out about 54mph with 42mm prop and slower when I tried bigger prop. I'm waiting for 1600KV to arrive.
Tim, I don't have enough experience about 24" size boat to recommend good motor for you. I would check out Miss Geico 24" boat video and go from there. By the way, Im interested in all that Free Energy motor too. My house is already on solar power. Good luck.
Thanks a lot and I have the 58 in King of shaves with the Venom engine in it I bought it from a guy so I'm trying to rebuild it but the motor is not trying to crank for me he let it sit up for a while so I'm trying to find a motor I can replace it with that will fit and I'm having trouble finding a rudder
Great idea with the lid! I don't know why they don't factory make lids easier instead of tape? Cheap RTR boats have easy clip on lids that seal great. Anyway's I just got my Genesis and Princess Boat today and love your video to help me. I can't find that M642 prop though.
Thanks, so far the same seal is working very well. After many runs and flipped over out there, hardly any water got in. By the way, the L bracket for my offset rudder was catching a lot of water from the rear of the boat. I ended up taking it off and went back to having the rudder behind the prop. Good Luck
F Krailert Thanks. Quick question. I connected two hoses to one side of the ESC but the other side also has to nipples for connection but I dont have any more hoses. Is that for adding more cooling lines as a option?
+bigrimyukon No, you can just connect a short hose and make a U turn. So one line water goes in, make a u turn and go out. get it? The rudder pickes up cool water, feeds it to ESC then to the motor then goes out the side of the boat. Some people run 2 water pick up line and 2 outlets so the ESC use one line and motor use the other line.
Hi Freddy, I am looking into the Hobbyking Genesis catamaran and I want to run the setup you have on 6s. The only problem is that I don't know how to solder, I will have my local hobby shop help me. But what is the name of the connector I need to buy to be soldered to the turnigy esc if i'm running 2 of the Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 3S 65~130C Lipo's? And where online could Buy a set of those connectors? Thanks in advance! Patrick F Krailert
nice video, where did u buy ur leopard motor from ? im planning to go for 2000kv leopard but its not coming with water jacket. btw wat is water jacket ? no expert thnks
Dean plugs can handle about 60-75 amps. If you are pushing more than that it will melt. I recommend 5.5 bullet plugs - better safe than to have your boat on fire.
What battery strap length/width did you use to mount the batteries? Also what foam spacer is that which separates the middle and the battery to have wire clearance?
+Anthony Abelardo Hi, I went to Home Deport and bought a roll of self sticking velcro. It's the kind that one side of the tape will stick to its own back side. You simply cut the size you need. They lock quite well. I'm away from home but may be I'll put up a video later.
F Krailert Did you glue the velco to the trays? Have you had any problems with breaking 4mm shaft? I have 4092 2080kv on 6S with m645 on 180A esc. If I have a throttle delay feature that makes it take time to actually give 100% input I should be ok w/ not breaking anything? I think the reason is people accelerating from a stop to 100% is what breaks shafts. Is it still possible to break a shaft at 50% speed than 100%?
No glue, my velcro strap wrap around the Lipo, the tray, and stick to itself like a tape. Anything is possible depend on your driving style and prop size combination. I upgraded mine to 3/16 shaft since most props sizes are made to fit that and I tend to push my boat to the limit.
F Krailert that's the thing, I just ran a 4mm to 3/16" shaft sleeve because I don't feel like redoing the whole bottom section what is ur motor, esc, and prop size?
I up my boat to 8S so 3/16 shaft is a must. I'm using 2 - 4S 6000mah 65C ESC is Swordfish PRO 300A getting speed about 70 MPH. Been away and haven't play few months, forgot what motor size and prop I last installed. But I'll be home next week and will let you know.
Sid Young - I'm not sure the size of your boat but I know Zenoah gas engine are quite popular. Here are some sites on top of my head that you can check out for parts RCboatcompany.com. Electricoffshores.com RCboatbitz.com. Good luck!
I use as esc a seaking 180A esc 2s-6s and as batteries a _turnigy nano tech 5A 65/130c from 6s. As engine a leopard 4082 1600kv and propeller y547. I would like to ask you a favor, if you could put a video of the genesis with the new engine and propeller (1600kv leopard and y547) or at least tell me what is the maximum speed that you have reached. Thank you very much.
guazzoa1 By the way, my Turnigy 180 ESC quit on me. Not sure if it can handle the load of 6S Lipo as they claimed on a good run. I was going to try Castle Hydra Ice 240 but found out it's discontinued - too many warranty returns. So I just ordered Swordfish Pro+ 300 AMP. Pricey but I had enough with cheaper ESC. Just want an ESC that will last. The Swordfish Pro+ can handle up to 15S Lipo so should have no problems. Mo speed = Mo money.....
hello I would like to ask you a question. I would like to buy the speedboat genesis on hobbyking but I read that a person sent him the genesis on 900mm, while hobbyking are written these specifications: Length: 1045mm Width: 245mm Height: 115mm What size has your Boat ? Those indicated on hobbyking.? if I buy it on hobbyking is the same as buy on another site like this one for example: www.elymania.it/modelli/genesis-offshore-brushless-rc-twin-hull-1045mm-/2547.php thank you very much
Anything is possible. Dual engines one on each side may work but I'm afraid single engine in the middle won't work. The engine would sit too high and high center of gravity is no good in turns.
Good job on your rig! I appreciate your video! I have the same motor, prop and esc. i'm waiting for your next video to wacth how speed reaches your beautiful genesis.
I can't wait
I'm still not sure which prop is best yet for this motor. I ordered a GPS logger and hopefully will get to test soon.
ok.I wrote to you because I want to buy a genesis on hobbyking, but I was undecided whether to use the engine as a leopard 4082 1600 kv or the leopard 4082 2200kv I would use both on 6s . so i'm waiting for your video to see which configuration is best.

guazzoa1 I just did a quick test run with 1600KV motor with Y547 prop. I like it, it is faster and got longer run time. Will post new video next time.

Nice video
and where to buy such a curved tube for the screw?
Thanks a lot and I have the 58 in King of shaves with the Venom engine in it I bought it from a guy so I'm trying to rebuild it but the motor is not trying to crank for me he let it sit up for a while so I'm trying to find a motor I can replace it with that will fit and I'm having trouble finding a rudder

Gotcha. Thanks.
Do you think the octura brass 440 and that sleeve adapter would be a good combo or would I have to get the 3/16 drive line?
.it veeeery nice upgrades.. I have one but stock.. wires make problem to me.. but it nice.. prop is 442
The stock motor can go pretty fast but just wish it comes with bigger wires.
where du you buy the rubber band that you use for closure
what size motor would you recommend for a 24" cat ?
Is it ok to use 6mm bullet on leopard 4082 2000kv, 6s and seaking 180a v3
Hello, where did you get those drain plugs? I've been looking for a solution to emptying the water from my Genesis. Thanks
I forgot but try aeromarinercboats.com or offshoreelectrics.com
freeddy, where did you get those hatch screws, I WENT to 3 home depots ,NO ONE HAS THEM!!!!!!!!! help
thanks,STEVE
I got mine from Home Depot sometime ago. Special drawers in the nuts and bolt section. Try McFaden-Dale Hardware store?

Water jacket is included.
+F Krailert ...thanks , what do u think 2000kv leo and 180a seaking on blackjack 29?
That should be fine. How may cell will you be running? Be careful running 6S. I ran my hard and the ESC went out.
+F Krailert ...i will use 2 of 5000mAh 3s 50c? is it ok
Hey guys I jus got my genesis also but I was wondering, will the dean ultra connectors melt if I'm using it for the battery connection?
Dean plugs can handle about 60-75 amps. If you are pushing more than that it will melt. I recommend 5.5 bullet plugs - better safe than to have your boat on fire.

Just posted test run video Freddy's Genesis 6S test run
I use as esc a seaking 180A esc 2s-6s and as batteries a _turnigy nano tech 5A 65/130c from 6s. As engine a leopard 4082 1600kv and propeller y547.
I would like to ask you a favor, if you could put a video of the genesis with the new engine and propeller (1600kv leopard and y547) or at least tell me what is the maximum speed that you have reached.

so you are gonig to use 6s on your new esc?
6s at lease. May go to 8s later if everything holds up. 100+ mph is the ultimate goal.

Same boat, I believed 900mm is the hull, if you includes the rear hardware, it would be 1045mm.
perfect, thank you very much
can you convert it to Nitro?
Anything is possible. Dual engines one on each side may work but I'm afraid single engine in the middle won't work. The engine would sit too high and high center of gravity is no good in turns.
Where did you get the auto bailer drain plugs?
you can try Ebay or go to Offshoreelectrics.com
