Beth and Viv have very rapidly gained all of my interest because the candour with which they talk about their relationship just makes my non-hetero heart flutter. Every detail we have, every cute moment we know about, was given to us willingly. This is such a monumental change and I think they are aware of it. I am very excited to read Beth's book because every single one of her press outings just makes me love her a little bit more. Regarding Viv, I think this break is more than necessary for her and I command her for her maturity. It takes one HECK of a person and one HECK of an athlete to know when to step back. Props to Arsenal and the Netherlands National Team for allowing her this leave of absence as well. Hopefully she will come back recharged, both physically and mentally.

Some people who get Covid just get the sniffles,looks like Viv got it much worse,where it effects your lungs This is no joke,and for a top 5 player,to not get playing time,you know her cardio is nowhere near where it needs to be She's not on the wrong side of a career,shes on the upside,so it has to be a long term effect Feel for her, this isn't an injury where you just rehab and can come back stronger(Beths 2022)
I listened to the podcast and i could listen to Beth talk all day! She is so down to earth! I think her and Viv are great for eachother. Hope she recovers and is back soon.
Have so much respect and affection for Viv as a person and a player. Hoping this is not the dreaded Long Covid which is everywhere now, especially in our previously healthy young folk. Hoping nurturing time with nearest and dearest in the Netherlands will help Viv convalesce and get a break from the stress of playing at the highest levels in UK and EU. i think viv’s break might be a mix of needing physical and mental rest. it’s likely she still not back at 100% from getting covid but there’s probably also a sense of frustration and upset that she doesn’t have much control over her (potential) side effects from covid. the rest is deffo well deserved and she’ll come back stronger ps, still haven’t forgiven parsons for not taking viv off during the euros when she was clearly struggling, no matter how much it would’ve upset her. i really believe that it would’ve been better for the team and her if she’d come in around the 70th minute and played a strong 20 rather than starting and not being able to have the impact she wanted to have and knew she could have if she hadn’t been sick
Fatigue, heavy feet, getting less air are known as some of the long CoVid symptoms. It's hard to say whether Viv has long CoVid effects or just feeling the preesured after very successful seasons in the past few years. Sometimes you just have to take a break for different (mental) health issues just like Simone Biles did. Great to see how supportive Arsenal is. And she’s still young and has had this pressure on her since she was fourteen and so maybe she just had another snap where she almost quits like in 2015.
I had covid last year and went to the physio not for covid but the physio put me right on the covid training after testing my condition. I didn't even realize that my condition had deteriorated so much. it took me 8 months for my heart rate to return to normal during training. I can't imagine what it must be like for a top athlete where condition and fitness are everything. this not only does things to you physically but also mentally health, hope she gets back to her old self soon 🍀

Just want to call out my bias I’m a Viv fan thru and thru as a player and aperson she is humble talented competitive Love Beth got to know her thru the we play strong vids she is a real character and she deserves all the success she has achieved over the last 6 months What has worried me about Viv is she has lost her mojo even before Covid and Euros Viv said a couple of things in previous vids that stuck in my mind she doesn’t like to be alone and she sleeps with a light on which surprised me given her public persona she is clearly a sensitive and complex person She jumped into a new relationship straight after a 6-7 year relationship. OK, I've noted a gap in my understanding before when hearing young queers talk and I need some education from any of my younger sisters out there. (I'm 53 and I've been married for over 18 years, and before that in another long term relationship so I haven't really "dated" since 1996). What does it mean to ask someone to be your girlfriend? Does it mean being exclusive? Beth said they'd already kissed and said I love you. (Unsaid but assumed, they've already slept together). It's the "I love you" part that feels out of order, I guess. I would usually have described someone as my girlfriend almost as soon as we were dating, long before I would have used the term partner, and before the "I love you" statements. So it means something different than it did. Please help!!!
