- Andre Fowles of Miss Lily’s in NYC is in the Munchies Test Kitchen making an ideal Jamaican breakfast: ackee and saltfish, paired steamed callaloo, crispy Johnnycakes, and fried plantain. This famous Jamaican dish is prepared with salted cod and ackee, a fruit found abundantly in Jamaica. Andre includes sides of steamed callaloo (Jamaican leafy greens), crispy Johnnycakes, and sweet fried plantain.

Caribbean food is the best. Best spices, best flavors, great for your health. We got to come together and promote and protect our dishes, sauces etc because a lot of people are stealing our stuff. They stealing our food, our music, our dance and making big money. The governments need to get patent from united nations to protect our creativity. Jamaica did get a patent from UN to protect Reggae music. We got to do it for everything because all they doing now is stealing from the Caribbean.

Ackee and Callaloo are real vegan vegetables. I had 4 ackee trees growing in my yard in Jamaica when i lived there. Great stuff
