As a mum of 3 boys I can't relate 🤷🏻♀️. My oldest is 21, 6 foot and a good looking lad, that's as far as it goes. I've taught him how to bake and cook so he can look after himself AND others. This is just vile 🤢

It's weird as hell, I actually know a few people with mothers like that. Buddy of mine is a grown man in his 30s and is talking to his mother 5 times a day and she tells him stuff like "You are the most important man in my life"

My mom got a hummingbird for my great great grandma who passed away in 2022. it just means something to someone. But I do agree,he probably shouldn't have done that. My mom was a prototype of this sort of mom. If you want an update on what happened: I ended up moving away and transitioning, and now we aren't on speaking terms. But hey, at least my mom doesn't find me attractive anymore. So that's a win in my book.
What's really tragic is, most of these kids will end up needing extensive mental health care later on down the road, and a majority of them will not receive adequate care. These parents are just pushing their problems onto their children instead of going to therapy, shifting the burden of seeking treatment onto the child. It's so fucked

And as a dad, I'm doing everything I can to make my little boy as independent as he can be ready to face life with anybody, how he chooses, and then be there for him if he needs me when that time comes. It's the most basic concept of parenting
Am soo glad im not like these boy moms. I take pride in loving my son but also knowing when there's a boundary that doesn't need to be crossed. I will say that I have looked at my kiddos, and that they are going to grow up gorgeous... my thoughts were only "there is going to be a lot of broken hearts and with heartbreak comes drama. The teen years are going to be looooong" LOL. I'm speaking light heartedly of course. The thought of looking at your children, and seeing them as anything OTHER than your CHILDREN is beyond weird to me!!

I have a father who said I deserved the s*ual abuse I got from a man 10 years older than me because of what I was wearing. I was 15-16 and being S*ually abused by a 25-26 year old man for over a year. Only time I've talked to him is when it has to do with my nephews and I've not been around him in private since. This is coming from a man who threw me out of a moving vehicle going 55MPH on an interstate here. (PS. His friend is the one who SA'd me) My mom wasn't much better for context because she walked hand in hand into a courtroom where she called her three year old a liar on the stand when the child was testifying about being CSA'd and physically abused by her and her husband. I'm lucky.. because in both cases both my stepfather and the friend of my dad's were put in prison because they proved it was true and my mom spent 6 years in the pen before being released to a home because of a terminal genetic disease that she has (I inherited it).. Many survivors don't get lucky enough to ever see any kind of justice...

My husband gave his mom a key to our house after we got married and she showed up the DAY AFTER WE GOT BACK FROM OUR HONEYMOON!!!!! I took that key right away because I didn't know he had given it to her......also his mom and step-dad own a condo in FL and we pay a very small discounted rate but guess who has to come down and need to spend the day or spend a night or two with us!!!!! I had to put a stop to that last year but of course they just had to come down to the condo for whatever reason the day after we arrived and we had to go hang out and she kept making passive aggressive comments about me not letting her stay

Also, I do have to disagree with the Sigmund Freud reference 9:26. I only say this because I'm generally curious about things, so I started reading about the meaning of dreams. Freud was a pioneer in this subject, however his take on the meaning of dreams was seriously twisted. He DEFINITELY had some mommy issues. In just about everything you dreamed, Freud's definition of it meant that you secretly wanted to have sex with your mom (if you were a guy, your dad if you were a girl). So either his mom was a "boy mom" or he wished that she was..... yuck anyway you look at it.

Obviously not the same but my MIL had 6 girls when my husband was like 12 and we moved in together at like 22 and the way she acted like he was their dad not spending enough time with them was fucking WEIRD. She was super jealous and those are the same vibes I get. We lived like two hours away and they were mad that we didn’t visit enough. I have crippling social anxiety and his mom is VERY abrasive and gaslights everywhere and it was always just ‘I’m too sensitive or looking too much into things’. I don’t talk to them in an attempt to allow my husband and daughter to have a better relationship with her without me involved. Now me and his dad (they’ve not been together since my husband was a baby) talk shit whenever we get the chance cause she kinda hated us both 😂 possessive parents need therapy. Those boundaries and the jealousy needs help, it’s so unhealthy.
