A lot of people criticising these guys but they’re not working in a main dealership air conditioned workshop and they need to turn these trucks round to earn, yes they’ll be back in for more repairs but that’s the way their world works, I’d say they were good mechanics working with what they have and improvising to get by with what they’ve not got.
No criticism here. I have a great deal of respect for the gamut of tradespeople seen across many areas of expertise. Some are sitting on their heels on a dirt floor near an open doorway for adequate light! Much respect!

@@TobenyChen What product line are you referring to? You can’t compare cv shafts and drivelines that are on Toyotas in north America to parts that are sold to auto parts distributors. There’s different product tiers for quality, OEM being the highest. I’ve never seen Dana CV shafts sold at any auto parts store anyways. The info would be good nevertheless 👍🏻
@@nordicpride9708 Dongfeng Motor Corporation Group has a joint venture with Dana. All the front/drive/tag axles used on Dongfeng-brand trucks are from Dongfeng-Dana JV. That dude implies that someone is "stealing technology from American firms", and that really makes me sick.
There's bound to be dirt all over that input seal after everything was handled that way, and yet the cover and input yoke go on without any cleaning being done. Seeing the whole process makes me think it's possible that dirt also may have been transferred to the inside that cover during handling. Any grit that finds its way inside will most likely cause damage later on. Crappy workmanship like this is the result when management demands speed and not attention to detail, or when the mechanic himself either doesn't care ("hey, it's not MY truck") or just doesn't know any better.
Spot on. Also given this transfer case has no internal filter, all that dirt will remain inside and keep doing damage until something wears out again and the same guy starts the same process all over.
There is a drain plug for a reason, pretty sure not gonna drain the whole thing, but is not gonna make that big of a mess. And even before starting the job, clean up the the differential before tearing in a part, all the dirt will find it's way inside the case, and as we know, cleaning is one of the most important things in these types of jobs.
Looks like reason for failure was somebody thought hydraulic fluid good enough, quite often black.. and isn't it's too thin, overheat to lose tempering of the metal.. needs the 90 wt. Thick oil to deal with the heat.. so metals don't lose tempering and overheat.. that's like hydraulic fluid thinness..
Mirando detenidamente. El diseño de esos diferenciales está mal calculado ya que tiene demasiadas piezas inesesarias y están muy expuestas al desgaste. Nada de comparación con las marcas Eaton. Rockwell. O hendrixon
Some dude claims that "American technology" is once stolen. That is pure ignorance. This is the inter-axle differential from a rear-front axle on a Dongfeng truck. And Dongfeng CV buys axles from Dana, not Meritor. Would you claim Dana steals design.from Meritor?
pero éso tiene que ser del diferencial de un camión o autobús ambos de gran tonelaje porque que yo sepa ningún coche tiene las piezas tan grandes ni de ése tamaño
Next time drain the differential properly via the drain plug it much easier..that way the oil makes it into the pan not all over the ground ya hackers...beatin on the pinion shaft after the housing is loose...smashing the housing and the gears...wouldn't let you work on my kids bicycle

Famous last words.."oh no..that drain pan is plenty big enough!"
I never criticize these people. I've had to work overseas. You work with what you have period. Do the best you can. Get it going
Love how it sounds it's the Minions fixing that thing!!
The design of that rear is a direct rip-off from Meritor. That's what the Chinese do....
Yeah but they can’t copy QUALITY as evidenced by this Grenaded POS 🤣🤣
Dude, Dongfeng CV has a joint venture with Dana.

Maybe in that part of the world sand is a lubricant.
You forgot to fill in lubricant

Or simply, the customer is cheap
The squirrels doing the commentary in the video make it so much better.
Man !! I bet that gear oil stinks !!😊😊😊😊😊
If I worked on that, there would be a few extra parts laying around after I got it back together. 😂
This guys name is Steve or Chen ?
Epa OSHA and the city regulations dept would go crazy seeing this

After all that work, I just didn't have the heart to tell him about the zip tie on the drive shaft.

I prefer this guys over the primadona's😂 from the trucks dealer shops who perform the soda pop machine every 10 min on my expense......

Shouldn't fail again then.. be back reliable..
He forgot to fill the gearbox with new lubrication oil 💁♂️
My issue is that he went fron dissassembly to installing a new gear set. He skipped the part that required the real skills.
Ese engranaje hubiese vivido más con un regular cambio de aceite.
The dam oil ! Yoy got put it back, and a new one the old looked dirty as hell.
Did I miss something? Did he put a new pinion seal in it?
Don't think so!
