Awesome Ben. I am Hispanic. And i really don’t like to listen “I am poor because my great great great grandparents were treated bad”. Go to school or get a job! Amen 🙏. You live in America🇺🇸
Permanent resident, single parent for over 15 yrs and able to raise my kids and see on a High School teacher, another about to earn her bachelor degree in business administration and the other an associates in construction mgmt...My point? I am A Mexi "can" not a Mexi "can't"..and this more than amazing county has given me the opportunities!! They are out there and one has to take them!!
I grew up in a "culture" of poverty, divorce, no high school education, misogyny, abuse, etc. My mother and father split when I was nine. Both parents did not graduate high school, neither did my older sister nor my younger brother. I, however, graduated high school. I went on and completed my undergrad degree and completed a graduate certificate program. And while I struggled with being a womanizer in my early 20s, I realized the error in my ways and I changed. I grew up. I'm a well ajusted husband (of 10 years) and a father of two and my kids don't have to worry about where the next meal is coming from like I did as a child. My wife doesn't have to worry if the mortgage will be paid. But I grew up in a "culture," how did I ever overcome my historical plight? 1. I started a relationship with Christ 2. I took responsibility for MY life I'm convinced that anyone could do the same.
But... But.... Muh racism..... For real though. Good job homie. I fit a lot of what you said and even though I didnt graduate high school or go to college I plan on getting my certifications in plumbing/electrician to be able to provide that life for for my wife and three children. My oldest is not even four just yet and life has been a little tough but they are wonderful and smart and good kids that couldnt hurt eachother (I was going to say a fly but that would be a lie, mama has taught them to comment bug genocide) (I feel like that could have been a kids rap lyric lol) or others. And I feel like thats because they have a mama and dad who work their butts off to teach them about God and good things and work hard to make sure they arent spoiled but have all they need. God bless you brother. Never give up and never surrender
And this is the MAIN reason why I hate victim mentality. It negates your sacrifice, struggle, discipline, your achievement. You faced adversity and overcame. Well done, bro!
Boom!!! Thank you!!! As a Hispanic American I'm am soooooooo tired of the victim card. Sure there have been historical injustices but we are perfectly capable and free to aspire to be anything we set our mind to nowadays. To be told anything different undermines our intelligence and capabilities.
@f you that's right The problem for anyone who thinks that way lies in that blaming others for issues stops when you are running out of people to blame except for themselves.
@f you that's right Black women as a demographic actually led the nation in entrepreneurship very recently. For 30 years? "Blacks" have accomplished many things that society (especially liberal demons) want to keep on the hush because it doesn't feed their agendas . Please don't generalize blacks. It's extremely insulting.
I am also a Hispanic American and compared to my family I have so many privileges that my parents worked hard to give me. they worked are and created a better life. however, due to systematic and institutional racism, it can definitely hold people back or just growing up and poverty can hold you back. and that isn't to say you should play the victim cars but we must realize the inequalities in America, though we are working to correct them. This also doesn't mean you can't have goals and can't achieve them but one might not always be successful. We must look at it in a micro and macro level
"We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. Individuals are responsible for their own actions" - Ronald Reagan.
Yes I agree. I do night security at a downtown professional building (PRIVATE PROPERTY- NOT PUBLIC). We are plagued with drug addicted street people. People start the journey towards adulthood when they finally grasp the concept that everything they say and do has a CONSEQUENCE. I find that many of the street people seem to be as oblivious to the concept of consequence as very small children are. It seems to serve them poorly and they don't seem to notice, creating an endless loop of behavior that thwarts their own forward momentum FROM WITHIN not from without. Nobody is "holding them down or back"...quite the opposite really. They are provided constant opportunity to choose better the next day but stubbornly refuse. Oportunities to express defiance and disrespect seems to be their biggest daily thing. Most are also busy playing the blame game, blaming everyone else.

Let's be real, being a victim is easy. People are too lazy to take control of their life. Its easier to do nothing and sit back and blame the past actions against your race or culture for your personal misfortune rather than help yourself.
What's more important, whoever you are, you will always have a characteristic that belongs to a minority of people. The fact that they chose being black, gay, woman, transgender or whatever doesn't mean that's the actual division of humanity, and you can use being a minority as an excuse for being a victim of anything, for not getting a job when you didn't try to earn it, for loosing a race when you simply didn't run fast....of course if you genuinely play the victim I doubt you would even get in a race to begin with

Chris Cabrera it only does nothing for those who don't understand the purpose of history. They who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. This new movement is calling for every political philosophy that has failed in the past hundred years to be implemented in America, namely socialism.
That's the million dollar question isn't it, This is one of the reasons I hate black history month. I get it, for the sake of learning history and not repeating the sins of the past it is important that we learn about things like slavery but to me, it seems that every year every black person has a huge orgy and gets off to how they get a free pass to beat white people over the head with something a majority of us didn't do and/or only are presumed guilty of because we happen to have a similar amount of melanin to some dead people that participated in these atrocities long before we were even born.
@@patrickmelton8347 Ben is being realistic. What the hell is even the point of talking about the past over and over. Go build me a time travel machine and we can talk about it. I go to a mixed race high school. I've noticed that a majority of people that are failing school are those that looove to blame the teachers and the principals and anything other than themselves. Same thing applies to these people in these left or right debates. Don’t be fcking lazy and just push blame on everyone else for something that you can fix; you're not in fcking highschool anymore. EVEN IF YOU ACTED UPON IT AND IT DIDN'T WORK, you at least fcking tried. No one can be successful 100% of the time. You have to understand that just because you were held back by a certain type of person either it be the left or the right, don't fcking blame the entire ass community. People make it as if left and right are a type of personality. They built their entire self around those ideals but they fail to see reality. In these types of issues, you should use logic and not emotion. If truth is spoken to you, then just accept it. The truth is the truth. The only difference is if the person appreciates the truth or not. It is on that person to either accept or deny plain truth. The point is that just because in the past a lot of white people ruined black lives doesn't mean most of them don't see the injustice in this day and age. In every race, there will ALWAYS be fucking degenerate groups (extremists) in the outlier. Just view those people as an entirely different group. Don't confuse them with a particular race or a normal community. They are just completely different humans. Their brains are just so hardwired in their way of thinking that they cannot be open-minded about new ideas. Just don't start blaming a particular race or ethnicity for some of their past actions. Not the entire group did it. Extremists coordinate terrorist shit together. That's why they are EXTREMists. White people didn't all plan to keep slaves and ruin black lives. It's those particularly extreme people or groups that do this shit. They have no empathy. Just like all the fucking karens out there calling for their managers. Those people are entirely different from normal society.

The last sentence is so true “I dont think that the rules are holding you back”. If anything some people hold themselves back with their constant excuses. Life is what you make of it.
In a way they are though. Throughout all your schooling you were likely given homework right? Even something as simple as homework assumes a level of privilege, it assumes you have the time to do it, it assumes you have a stable household or a safe space to do it, it assumes you're well nourished and able to focus enough to do it. Often times people dont have those privileges, and they fail out of school because of it. Its not innately tied to race in this instance, but due to their past blacks and hispanics have much higher tendencies to have such positions of disadvantage. So rules and institutions still do hold people back, not innately, or necessarily racistly, but they do nonetheless.
I disagree , would you say that about the WORTHY people's who have missed out on University placements , jobs ,careers, not because of lack of grades, skills experience ,or qualifications but because of affirmative action, and diversity hiring all based on their race, people DO get held back because of institutional racism and the cancer of wokeism , prove me wrong .

But living in the past means free stuff and maybe even more free money if the libs get in charge and force white people to give money to black people because of something that happened hundreds of years before they were born. To improve their own position would mean they would have to put in an effort and actually work to improve things, easier to sit back and let the libs give them free stuff in exchange for votes.
That brings up an interesting thought: We say very often how our ancestors and ancestry, more specifically, the actions of our ancestors (not to be confused with anything biologically hereditary) impacts our lives. But how? It gives us a sense of identity, but besides that, our life and the life of our great great grandmother are not very much related. Society has changed since then, genetics have changed since then, laws and regulations have changed since then, so many things have changed since then. Unless their actions have specifically put us in a specific spot, why do we constantly refer to the actions of our ancestors to justify the current standing of our lives today?
jon nuanez Past wrongs will always be the present when there’s no reconciliation. There has been “band-aid” approaches to reconciliation but nothing that truly addresses the psychological damages of those time periods (debilitation of Native Americans & slavery). That’s why there’s still some contention between the ancestors off those groups & the ancestors of their oppressors. Granted, some people are inherently miserable and will look for a reason to hate & invoke discord BUT a higher level of harmony can exist and outweigh those who choose to live otherwise. So, I wouldn’t liken the issues of racial divide to driving a car and it’s rear view mirror...it’s more like a formerly abusive spouse wanting to reconcile their marriage, what do they do?

I worked a part time job at a grocery store during my final 2 years of high school. I joined the Marines and did my 4 and when I got out I went back to my part time job which turned into full time job and than a management position with the company. 7 years later I became a home owner. Imagine being forced to build this country and getting nothing in rreturn. Imagine getting a loan and getting interest rates higher than any other race of people. That exists ..
I'm so impressed with the unbridled knowledge that you exhibit in every video I watch. Your approach to issues/problems seems always to be to turn from the excuses we use for the decisions we make & instead apply common sense positive energies to overcome them. It's been my experiences in life that people who fight for what they want (meaning work towards their goals) are the people who actually achieve success. This country & past governments are full of stories of suppression, etc, but we can't change what's happened in the past. We can, however, change the future, be a beacon of light for those around us & those who are coming behind us. Yes there are lots of bad people dedicated to destroying minorities, but I am not one of them. I think the first step to getting what you want out of life is to recognize "life sucks & then you die" & then stepping on that boulder & building better, creating a world that you are excited about & using the strength you get from your own accomplishments to help others.
The greatness of man lies in his ability to overcome the circumstances of his birth. We all come kicking, screaming, and crying, into an imperfect world. It is only the beliefs that we form, and, the choices we make that define who we are or what we can become.

He treats everyone he comes into contact with respect; he lets people ask their questions completely, he doesn't call them names or constantly interrupts them...if someone verbally attacks him, he responds to it - who wouldn't? You expect him to bend over and just take insults and mischaracterizations? That's not being a man in my book! The thing about Ben is, he never STARTS anything with people; he tunes his responses to how he's treated himself; and, as he's said many times, if you treat him with respect, he will treat you the same way! In terms of him being "arrogant," I think people mistake that for his awesome intelligence and the bushels of common sense he clearly has. The guy does his research, knows how his opposition thinks, and conducts his talks like a chess game! If you think being intelligent is the same thing as being "arrogant," well...I don't know what to do with that. I wish I had his level of clear intellect; but I don't begrudge him anything, either! More power to him! I've yet to see anyone catch him in a lie, or start an argument, or show disdain to anyone he talks to! I've seen him behave the same way whether he's talking to a student, a professor, or before Congress in testimony! I'm not saying everyone has to love the guy....but "overbearing" and "arrogant"? Nope! I'd apply those labels to Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton, or Mark Zuckerberg, or Alyssa Milano - but not Ben Shapiro.

I've talked about this before with friends, those in doctors waiting room, which we all know can be an hour or more wait. I worked for 20 years at a state university answering phones and looking up info for admissions and financial aid etc. I've even gotten called on the carpet about it at work. But, I'm retired now, so I have free speech again. So many times I've heard people say that they would like to change this world (or state or parish) but nobody cares what they think or say. I say, change you. If all the people who are stuck in a way of life or even a neighborhood where it's just assumed that you will never be anything more than what you believe right now, thinking that there's nothing you can do because you're just one person. You're wrong. That is a defeatist attitude and a victim mentality. You have to start with you, your little world of you. If even 10% of people stopped living as if nothing will ever be different, then you will see a world of difference. A question that I hate to hear (from any culture) is "What are you going to do for my people?" My question is always, "What are you doing for your people?" Holding up signs, stopping traffic, tearing down businesses does nothing for any cause. I didn't want to get political but I will say this one thing. The left is more than happy to support you in these endeavors. Mainly because they know it's not going to change anything. But, they want you busy so you don't notice that nothing substantial is changing. So, look around you in your world. Instead of seeing the big changes that need to be made. Find the little changes that you can make. Because when enough little changes are made, that's when it affects the world.

Past wrongs will always be the present when there’s no reconciliation.

Great point!
Because there are cultural differences.
They don't all excel. But your point still stands, because if you look at the brutal injustice of the internment camps that Japanese Americans were forced into, and what they've made of themselves now, and even how men from that community *still* volunteered to fight for a country that had betrayed them and accused them of being alien fifth columnists - you see an excellent example of overcoming oppression. America is really fortunate to have the Japanese Americans.

Stay in school, get a job, keep the job and take care of ur kids and chances are u will be successful and ur kids will be to.

@@pixelpatron he didn't say go to college. Alot of people are successful without college. There are trade schools, there is the military, there is also possible advancement in stores such as Wal-Mart and Target.
Stay in school means get your High School Diploma. Getting that piece of paper is far more important than people realize.
I was born into generational poverty. My path out of it was to do my best in school and get my high school diploma. I worked a part time job at a grocery store during my final 2 years of high school. I joined the Marines and did my 4 and when I got out I went back to my part time job which turned into full time job and than a management position with the company. 7 years later I became a home owner. Shortly after that I became a father. Am I wealthy? No. Am I living in poverty? Nope. I broke the cycle. I have money in the stock market and plan to hand wealth to both of my kids when I die.

Some people are in love with the color of their skin, and they see everything in context of their "color."
Ha ha ha ha ha
Racism doesn’t even care about skin color. It’s based on what advantages one race had over others in the past.
For example, Africans and Asians were primitive compared to the Europeans after a certain point in history. Looking down on them as inferior therefore made sense. Skin color was irrelevant but useful for distinguishing who was who.
@@midgetydeath it was, but not anymore
Exactly. You can't control the environment you are born into but you can decide what you do from that point forward. Some people are born into good scenarios and others into not so good scenarios. That is not racism that is just life.

I really don't understand why someone would think Ben Shapiro's "overbearing" or "arrogant"! Don't we want all people to live that way? What's "overbearing" about that?

I'm white, second generation "out of the coal mines", both my parents grew up born in coal country, first generation to college, precisely because "they both chose deliberately not to raise a family in coal country", and worked, went to college, and left. Both my sisters went to college, worked, retired, I've spent two decades a Marine, worked in and now run a machine shop, don't know how to not work. Some of my childhood heroes were slaves who made themselves a life, George Washington Carver, I recruited out of a University he founded, thirty years ago. a host of others who chose to be someone by learning. I live in a 90 percent black farming community, because I fix old machines, and this is where I fit. Most of the folks around here work pretty hard, and enjoy their lives well and fully. Semper Fidelis.
Bristling with brilliance. Ben Shapiro should run for president.

Nishant Gaurav - Actually, the Indian government banned PewDiePie’s diss tracks, “B**** Lasagna” and “Congratulations.” Makes you think, no?
Majority of new generation does not believe in caste system anymore I'm 25 nd i dont know any guy of my age who believes in it... This is our dharma(literal meaning law)...have debate nd discussion in every generation and adopt the dharma which helps us grow and eleminate the evils in society.. caste system was on the basis of work but later it got corrupted and became on basis of birth... But we are fighting our evils
Btw this is coming from a so called 'upper caste'.
@@WiiAgent007 I don't think u have any correct information about that....it's not banned...I can still access PewDiePie UA-cam channel in India.
Every time I see a college Liberal reading their "thoughts" from a script, I die a little inside.
Amen.......
I don't, I appreciate their efforts to ask a rational and well structured question, not everyone has the intellectual capabilities of Ben, and this allows him to give these wonderful replies.
What I hate is when they just read a paragraph of the last leftist article they have found instead of thinking and asking by themselves like this respectful young man.
They usually embarrass themselves, because they believe the crap the progressive Prof. are teaching them.
Can I just say...
I love this comment section. Don't get me wrong, people have the right to be negative/cynical/pessimistic, but most people here chose to be very inspirational. I've read several comments and I already feel like I can accomplish anything. Some people are very appreciative of external motivation. You guys are great...
