Town: Lowell, IN (Lake County)
Location: Liberty St. and Main St.
Test Time: 1st Saturday 12 PM CST every month
Cycle: 3 minutes of alert
Other notes: While Burnoie and Clavin were getting blasted by an STH-10, I hung around Lowell to get this DC. Funnily enough, this is my 3rd January in a row going to Lowell, and I've been working my way from east to west through the town. I swear that wasn't intentional.
The county had several fire and medic calls, including one for a "rubbish" fire, so the test was over 10 minutes late. You hear the 130 on the west side of town before this winds up.
Unfortunately, it seems the county is back to doing alert, unless this was a fluke, but at least it still went for 3 minutes.
A resident came up to me at the end wondering what I was doing. He said this siren used to do fire calls before the county took over siren testing.
Lowell has two 2001-130s, an analog 4004, and this DC.

I’m honestly thinking that they tested Attack all of last year to see if it did anything different than Alert. Who knows, maybe they’ll continue Attack.
Those 2001s definitely seem carry better than the 4004. I was at the 4004 and could hear the 2001s from there, doesn't seem like the 4004 was heard from where you were at.

Sirens of NE Ohio Ah, gotcha. I’m going to be out of school tomorrow. I am going to visit the University of Toledo and I’ll try to photograph some of their sirens although that’s not the main purpose of why I’m going there lol.
So who the hell was that at the end that asked you what you were doing Tommy? I can't tell what he said after you told him you were recording the siren, but it sounded like something weird.. people like him aura screw off & leave you ALONE.
