Some say that if you pay less than total amount you have to pay interest on the total amount and not just the unpaid amount, because the free credit period is withdrawn in such cases.
That's partially correct. When you pay less than the total amount due, the interest is charged on the outstanding balance, but the key point is that the 'interest-free' period gets revoked. This means that from the date the payment was due, interest will be calculated on the remaining balance. It’s always best to pay the full amount to avoid any interest charges and maintain the benefits of the interest-free period.
If I upgrade my 5 year old credit card to a new credit card, will my credit history be impacted by this? Since the 5 year old credit card is being closed and a new upgraded credit card account is being opened, how will that impact the credit account age and CIBIL?
Just upgraded my 4 year old card, i was thinking the same but to my surprise when i upgraded and checked my credit score after a month, my credit score was unchanged. And my old card was replaced with the new one with no sign of existence of the old card. Also the re payment history of the card is shown from the date of activation of the old card. It is shown that my new card is 4 years old. Hope that answers your question.
According to you we shoul not close the oldest credit card, but what if my 1st credit card is a FD based secured credit card then am bound to close it because i want my FD money back ????? please tell me your thought on this.
I've been applying for credit card and have been rejected all the time without any reason, even though I meet all their eligibility criteria by long margin. Me holding single name, can this be the possibility for rejection? I've talked to bank staff one of them did mention this can be the case, although vaguely.
It's not so but only for some banks like standard charter and Au Does not provide the card to single name person.otherwise you can take the card from most of the banks even if you have a single name
es, it was announced that CIBIL score updates would happen every 15 days starting in January. However, the apps you’re using might still be showing the next update after 30 days because they may be following the previous update cycle or might take time to integrate the new system.

2 credit cards band karne aur nayi card utni hi limit ke sath lene se aapke credit score par thoda short-term impact ho sakta hai. Ye is wajah se hota hai kyunki purane accounts band karne se aapki credit history ka length kam ho sakti hai aur credit utilization ratio temporarily badh sakta hai. Lekin, agar aap apni nayi card ko responsibly manage karte hain, time par payment karte hain aur utilization low rakhte hain, toh impact minimal hoga. Apna credit score monitor karte rahiye taki wo healthy rahe!

if you are utilising >30 % of your credit limit then it is better to Pay before bill is generated. and if credit utilisatioln is very less then there not much diffenece of paying before and after bill ganaration ............but always pay total amount before due date.
Hi I need help for applying axis Bank credit card. I have multiple credit card with limit above 6 lakh, but I don't have any card of axis Bank. Ma'am agr hmm apne credit card ka bill generate hone se pehle hi payment krde toh kya hoga...like mera bill month ke 1st ko generate hota h or main 30th ko hi payment krdu toh
Agar aap apne credit card ka bill generate hone se pehle payment karte hain, toh aapke bill par koi effect nahi hoga, lekin aapka outstanding balance zero ho jayega aur aapka utilization ratio bhi low rahega. Jo data reporting hota hai, wo aapki payment date ke according update hota hai. Agar ab data do baar report ho raha hai, toh aapki payment ka impact 1st aur 15th ko dono hi samay reflect ho sakta hai, depending on the reporting cycle. Ye aapke credit score ko positive impact de sakta hai agar aap regularly apne payments time pe karte hain.

70% ka use karne par us ka 50% toh 35% of card hoga na, 20% of card nahi. Aur haan, utilization utni hi aayegi jitni bill generation mein dikhegi. Main bhi aise hi karta hoon jab kabhi badi purchase ki hoti hai kisi aur ne mere card se, so that instant increase na dikhe
