I think the Thunder are much better than people realize. There’s a lot of young talent on this team and coach Mark is so good at holding people accountable and building a good culture. SGA is a superstar in the making. Dort is still showing improvements. Wiggins is looking good. Jalen Williams was someone I was begging for us to draft because I think he’s gonna be a star
It's true, the thunder are flying under the radar for now but if all our guys stay healthy the league is gonna notice real quick. Too much talent for them not too!
I agree with everything except the Lu take. He hasn't shown any real improvement this season. Im curious as to what you mean. I mean I love the guy but he's not playing better than last season.
@@quintanroo3367 Lu is a really tough player to evaluate because at the moment the Thunder is asking him to play a role that he isn't necessarily going to shine in. His usage is way too high and he takes too many shots (Mark Daigneault has said that's be design). He's also a streaky player, he goes through decent, sometimes good offensive stretches but also bad ones. His defense is his most impressive skill, he played great D on Luka Doncic who is about 3 inches taller, and even Paolo Banchero, who is 5 inches taller. He has a very physical defense which can be useful. Luka praised him a couple days ago, said he's a top 3 defender. My hope is that when the team settles, Chet comes back, and JDub develops, Dort will take a much more specialized 3 and D role, probably off the bench. And what he's learning now while make him more effective in the long run. If not, his contract ain't too terrible!
@@HustleOnDThunderD I mean that could be said about him last season. How has he improved? The comment I replied to said he's still improving but he's doing about the same as last year.
Man OKC are competitive and the best tanking team. I love it when we lose but it’s very close in the 4th quarter. Next year we’re getting basically 2 TOP 10 picks 😁
If the Clippers continue to have a rough season OKC are going to have some quality draft picks. OKC this season are really competitive and fighting to the last second. Win or lose, OKC won! Our draft stocks go up and next season we’ll have basically 2 top 10 picks! I’m excited to see what we can do next season!
Loaded! Incredibly young but long, skilled and extremely well coached. Right now many are thin but so was Baze a year ago and he’s suddenly gigantic and physical. Poke, Ouse and Chet fit that physique and are all 20 or younger. They will be much improved shooters after working with Chip for a year and instead of overpaying on the market Sam’s plan is to try to lock his roster up for 7-9 years. Watch this team on defense even at this stage and envision how dominant they will be in a year or two, with Chet as the backstop.
That 7 to 9 year continuity will end up being one of the X factors, so many "competing" teams tried to press the fast forward button on their championship run and I don't think it's going to end up working out for them.
@@HustleOnDThunderD Of course that’s theoretical as it’s never been done. I go way back to pre Bill Russell when Red Auerbach changed the game by drafting a 22 year-old kid who couldn’t shoot but was, and still is the greatest defensive center who ever lived. It was a radical approach but then the Celtics became the greatest dynasty ever in sports. Sam also has a different vision and it is turning into reality. It must be scary for the opponents to come into the fourth quarter looking forward to a swarming bunch of long and athletic kids with fresh legs contesting every pass and shot, and zooming up court attacking. Thanks
If not Wemby, the next frontcourt option would be with the second round pick at #35 Zach Edey, Chet, Poku, SGA, Giddey, off the bench JDub, I. Joe, Ousmane Dieng, JWill, and trade up if at twelve, trade down a few spots if lotto luck puts at three or four pick.Taylor Hendricks goes #6 to OKC.
I believe they can, right now it's still clunky, but they've played less than a full season's worth of games together, and Giddey and SGA are both REALLY smart players. I'm sure they're going to figure it out.
He's looking solid! If he's a trade piece I think his value is still increasing, and if he get's to the point where he is a great role player for us, he could be worth keeping for sure
Are we even sure mark daigneault is the right guy for the job? Like could he even get us to a conference finals or farther? I just have my doubts about him. I feel like we rushed to find a new coach when Donovan left.
I think Coach Diagonal is better than Billy Donovan. Time will tell but it’s hard to judge his performance on a team not built to win. Hopefully the staff and players can grow together
He was the g league coach for awhile so it just made sense to bring him up to work with all the young guys. Of course that means there isn't much to gauge in the playoff realm but that's just to be seen when it happens
I think it's fair to have doubts, I had them for a while too, I couldn't say for certain if he's the coach of the future, but I'm really happy with what he's done so far as a developmental coach. Thunder last season had a surprisingly good defense for most of the season, and so far our defense has been top 10 in this season. I think that's a huge sign, as well as it seems the players respect Daigneault, like Tre Mann saying he knew he had to get better on defense because Coach just he simply wouldn't play if he didn't. He's an interesting guy too, guys that cover the thunder say he's beyond his years (he's 37) and Presti seems to like him too which is always a good sign!
I legit couldn’t believe what I was watching last night, the future is way too bright

Next season hype levels will be unreal, and I also don't hate close losses xp
I dont think were actively tanking. We can actually compete barring any major injuries. Were doing great so far.
Great Video!
Thank you guys!!

Would the thunder, for ANY reason, trade Chet and their draft pick this year, to go get the number one pick to get Wemby. Any thoughts👀👀
1st no team would accept that trade IMO and 2nd presti very much likes chet and there are other promising bigs in the draft so it ain't worth it
