hi, can i transfer to USC for my spring semester (freshman year). i currently go to a private non-profit (so basically not a community college) is that possible?
Yesss fellow transfer here! I graduated last year but transferring was one of the best decisions I made for myself in college (and maybe my life lol). I made a my college experience vid that touches on my transfer experience but probably should make a more informative one since this was super helpful... 🤔
Hi! Loved the video. I got accepted to CPP but I feel as though I’m going to regret not going to a uc for the experience and the challenge. My other option is cc if I want to really commit to transferring to a uc. My question to you was how to were able to transfer after freshman year and go to a uc as a sophomore, what was the route you took? I hear that cc students get first priority so I’m worried I will not be able to transfer successfully if I go to CPP first and then transfer.
Hi Laura! Congrats on CPP! I actually transferred to USC, not a UC. USC accepts sophomore and junior transfers while UCs only accept junior transfers. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi! Your video was really helpful in getting a sense of the type of atmosphere there. I’m still a senior in HS but the school that I am committed to a state school in NY. I really want to transfer to USC and I was wondering how the financial aid was for you. Was the majority of your tuition covered?
I decided to go to a state school because everyone was telling me the scholarship I had gotten was something I shouldn’t give up, but I really wanted to go to UMich. I’m thinking of transferring and applying to multiple schools, but I’m afraid the financial aid won’t be as good as if I were an incoming freshman. How was the aid for you?
The fiancial aid isn't as good but that's primarliy because only incoming freshman could potentially get free tution if their family makes less than 80k a year. However, in my expirence USC is pretty generous in terms of grants as the grant they gave me was over half of the gift aid I recieved at all.
heyy i ma senior in high school and i was planning to go go csuf but i don’t see myself there and usc has been my dream. can you talk about your grades and sat and requirements that go you into usc and more details on the process.
Definitely goto CC and transfer if you want to goto usc. CC classes are stupid easy and all you have to do is maintain a 3.7+ gpa (avg gpa for usc transfers), complete the course requirements and write a decent essay, and you’ll most likely have a good chance of getting in.
hey girl! I just transferred to Marshall after a year at CC. Any tips? Also, I've been thinking of switching to the IRGB major. Do you know anything about it/ have any advice? Loved the video btw!
Hi Juliet! Congratulations! I know quite a few people who are IRGB majors and I was actually thinking of becoming one myself! I decided to stick with IR and pick up a minor in Marshall instead because I wanted to take more IR classes. With IRGB, half of your classes are in Dornsife and half are in Marshall. So it honestly depends on what you want to do. I think if you are interested in IR but still want to be partially in Marshall then IRGB is the way to go! If you do decide to switch, on your diploma it will only say IR and will not say IRGB so that's something to keep in mind. If you have any more questions, I'd love to answer them. Feel free to dm me on insta @sydolay. Can't wait to see you around campus and hopefully we'll have some classes together! :))
Hello, I am currently a high school senior and will be attending a CSU for Fall 2020. I'm thinking about transferring to USC, but my only worry is that my high school test scores are low. Do they want to see high school test scores if I meet the required amount of units?
Hi Amelie! They will ask for your test scores if you have less than 30 units and they will also ask for your high school GPA. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about your test scores as long as you showing improvement in college and you get a high GPA there! Hopefully this helped!
im in community college right now and want to transfer to usc my grades are ok and ive been a special ed student most of my life but i wanna transfer with more than 60 units with a 3.80 gpa what do you think of my chances of getting in?
Personally, I didn't receive any financial aid, but you have the option to appeal your financial aid statement if you still need more. I can talk more in depth about this in my next video tho!
Thanks for making this video! I'm a senior right now and didnt apply to USC thinking I wouldn't get in. Now I'm regretting it and want to go to community college for a year and try to transfer in as a sophomore. Do you know much about double majoring there and doing two completely different things? Thanks!
Hi Eddie! I honestly don't know a lot about double majoring, but I'm pretty sure if you decide to double major in two completely different things it will definitely take you longer than 4 years to graduate unless you already have a large amount of credit prior to going into college. Hopefully this helped a little, I'm sorry I don't know too much on double majoring!
Hi Rose! No I didn't complete the writing and math before spring and I actually didn't get a SGR. I just submitted a copy of my unofficial transcript to USC as soon as I got my spring grades. I got my acceptance about a week after I submitted my grades!
Hi Justin! I answered this question in my transfer Q&A video if you want to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/n4fdcylHMk4/v-deo.html Hopefully this helps! lmk if you have any other questions :))
Were you the one that took 5 classes during winter or your friend? How do you take 5 classes at one time? Multiple community colleges at the same time? And did your English math etc and general education transfer to USC? like did the cal poly English math etc transfer to usc or did you have to retake it at community college?
Hi!! My friend took 5 classes at a time! As for me, all of my classes transferred over. USC typically takes most of your classes as long as they have a class that's somewhat similar. If you're unsure if some of your classes are going to transfer over, contact your respective USC academic advisor (which can be found on the USC website). Hopefully this helped!
Sydney Nicole so did your friend take 5 classes at the same time during winter? From one community college or multiple community colleges? And what was your major at Cpp and now what is your major at at USC?
@@TechVHD There's no need to be rude :) since this question isn't about USC, I'm not sure how to answer it. As you can see based on the title of the video, this is about my transfer experience to USC. Can you please dm Nicole your question @nicole_pound ? Thank you.
Hi i plan on applying to usc as transfer also for fall 2021 tho and will have 32 semester units. My first semester ended and I got a 3.94 gpa u think I got a good shot of getting in?
Thank god for this video. It’s so hard to find information on transfer students that go to usc. Thank you so much.
your transfer videos have been so helpful for me! thank you sm :,)

What is minimum Requirement can you transfer in 3 years I’m taking classes pretty slowly to not overwhelm myself. Do you think they’ll accept me?
Did you know any transfers who got in with like a 3.7?

hi im wondering what your hs gpa was if you remember it? thank u!!!
Hi Liv! I don't remember the exact GPA but I believe it was around a 3.6
Does USC offer full scholarships for transfer students?
No but they are generous in terms of scholarship money if you are lower income. At least that's my expirence.
Do you have any plans after undergrad? Because I want to major in IR but I don't know what to do after finishing undergrad
What was your GPA transferring into USC and did you have the trojan transfer plan?
I had a 4.0 GPA and I did not have the trojan transfer plan. I can talk more in depth about my stats in my Q&A video!

Sydney makes some awesome points! If you want the view of 3 different students on transferring watch this vid: ua-cam.com/video/P0gBeNVWUZI/v-deo.html
Do some transfers live with freshmen?
USC Transfer here, no they don't - actually, it's quite rare for transfers to get on-campus housing. It's not guaranteed.
how did your friend take 5 winter classes? did she enroll in more than one community college at the same time or just one?
