1 Meter Fish Swallowed Whole!

- Hard to say just how big this shark was, but is was big enough to swallow a 90-100cm Mackerel whole... so, pretty big! Looked nice and solid too.

I used to like surfing with my paddle held in a high brace position. After two dislocated shoulders I took the advice that using a low brace would be safer for my shoulders. A low brace works fine but it doesn't look or feel nearly as cool as a high brace! :)

@@bentv7 It sure looked like it to me. He was definitely doing a high brace and the risk of shoulder dislocations while holding them is well-known.

That fish cam really is something amazing to see how fish go to the bait its so entertaining and new to watch, and i like the serious face when he is kayaking back to shore, reminds me of my co workers at the warehouse, they are so funny and just wanted to talk and share stories but if its worktime they look so serious you think they are angry at you hahaha, and i think ive inherited that attitude it gives you focus on what you need to do, man i really like this channel a lot, hope more and more camping videos on those gorgeous white beaches, and many underwater views and of course more fishing, i do not know how to fish but seeing the waves of pure ocean and catching fish like he always do gives me enjoyment ☺️.
I cannot describe the feeling of catching a wave on a kayak... The smallest little touch and that wave is gone.... But in the moment it feels like 100pmh.
Every once in a while I think about moving to the coast and buying a kayak to fish in the ocean, then I watch videos like this and remember I’m deftly afraid of sharks! I’ll watch from the couch thank you very much! Awesome vid!

Just a quick tip, if you lick your camera lens and then dunk it in the water your saliva will act as a protective lens and prevent water droplets that can ruin your film

Very cool footage! You get a better look at the shark if you slow it down to about half speed (~4:40).

I have to say it is a real pleasure to find a kayak fisherman who has some real kayak skills and knows how to handle surf with good judgment and intelligence. Well done! Fantastic video Rod, one of your best. Amazing footage from the troll cam. For what it's worth I think it was a Bull too. You get a great shot of it eating the mackerel at 4:30 and the profile looks more like a Bull than a White. Also it looks chunky like a Bull. Must have watched this vid 4 or 5 times now and still wince every time you dangle your feet in the water. Thanks for all the great content this year. All the best from the UK.

Interesting footage produced from the troll cam, that first bait swam beautifully and was hit hard by the first fish, where the second didnt perform well at first and was looked at a lot but the fish just turned their noses up at it till it started swimming better, and your paddle out through the breakers then in was something from an expert 👍

Don't know that weren't one of those interloping whites you said been hanging around the reef? So hard to tell but a lot of white belly and a big dorsal?? Painted a big 3.5 meter reproduction white shark once and just remember how much their belly white color shines so brilliant against their dark greyish blue. Too crazy whatever species it was. An old saying "What is a wilderness without wolves" to know they are out there adds to the thrill of it all. Cheers man love seeing your vids pop up.

Hi Rod. I see you take your sounder off before return through the surf....makes perfect sense. Water clearly gets to the bracket /electronic base, so my question is what do you do re this....salt water sand etc getting into this area?
The bracket on the 7” Ti2 is the single arm Centre one so it clears the sand well without too much trouble. I never unplug the sounder and just pop it on once though the surf. Seem to last no problems when never unpluged👍
