    This is absolutely like therapy for me to watch. I live in the middle of the Sonoran desert in Arizona there's no water within about a hundred and fifty miles of me. And I can tell you it never rains here

    Best channel for me. I‘m from Switzerland, we don‘t even have the sea, only lakes and rivers. I was in Australia 23 years ago, if i would win the lottery i‘d go living in AUS and do kayak fishing for the rest of my life

    Great variety of species Rod. You're "laid back" style is great. Squid and Snapper nicely done, you're family are going to love the feast . Love hearing line peeling of the spool it gets the blood pumping. 🎣🐟 I bet the kids are loving having your Dad & Mum up. Almost 40K Bro......yewwww!

    That bonito you caught at the end is great eating. You bleed the fish and the meat is great as long as you keep it fresh.

    Nice catch, I love fishing overcast days! That last one you threw back would make most fishermen here on Oahu so exited to catch, we call it a "kawakawa" and we love to make poke' with it.🍻

    looks like currumbin creek mouth has a nice northern channel that seems accessible by yak, ski or tinny most times of tide depending on swell....been waiting a while

    Great video mate! I'm on the Goldie too and fishing on kayak sometimes but mine is only for inshore waters. I don't think that I would have the guts to go offshore anyway. What you do is very brave and inspiring, good on ya mate!

      Your more likely in greater danger in the shallows than the open water with the amount of sharks in the shallows

    Hey mate nice fish and enjoy yours vids but you should consider sharpening an old screw driver so you can brain spike your fish you keep.
    Puts them out quick and saves them dying slowy and stops the rigamortis so your fish meat stays pristine and you will actually be surprised how much better it tastes.

      Yes you are spot on. Lactic acid builds up in the muscle of a stressed animal fish included. I always cut under the gill plates to bleed them out with a pair of stout sheers. One small snip is safer than using a knife. Fish with big teeth get a dressing down with a wooden pacifier before the snip. Cheers

      @@andrewrollins4898 They bleed out no different to before being brain spike lol I've caught many fish and can tell no difference with the amount of blood that comes out after spiking or before.
      Pretty sure that's how the Japanese prepare a lot of there tuna etc to have it tastes it's best, brain spike, bleed?.
      All live stock in Australia has it's brains zapped with high voltage then it is bled after and meat is still the same yeh ?

      At the end of the day the fish just need to be put out fast to be humane and to make it taste better.

      I do kill the fish and bleed depending on species. I just don't often show in on camera to avoid people getting upset. I often mention it though.... I think ill put together a vid on it going though what I do and why soon to address it 👍

      If you watch my vids mate I release plenty of fish after I have dinner or it’s not my target species. Most of the time you’ll notice I just stop fishing and go home. People that only practice catch and release are only fishing to put fish through unnecessary stress and possible death purely for bragging rights... that doesn’t sit that well with me 👍

    Had a feeling that snapper was going to get you. Those clean slices like that are annoying. With me it takes about four days to heal up. Really fun when you are slicing a lemon. Beware the gill plates.

    Watch out for those gill plates. Those kind of cuts are a pain in the rear. Seems like they take forever to close up. Your snapper are similar to our red porgy. They definitely fight a lot harder though. That was a great battle on that setup. The drags on those penn's are smooth.
