When I was struggling with depression, I knew about Jesus but still was under the bondage of the depression. A dear friend (thank God for them) told me to read about the Holy Spirit. @@regvar8468 if you draw near to God He will draw near to you...if you stay in His word like He commanded you would know because He can't go against His Word. So the more you saturate yourself the more it drowns out the noise from your own conscience or what you're thinking (this is the best way I can describe it) God will never go against what is written. When we sin we know for a fact that it's wrong as well like a heightened sense (conviction) He gives us a mind and heart and desire to please Him. Since rediscovering my belief in God and Jesus, I have since met a good woman who I intend on marrying and I am not at all interested in my previous sins. I used to cry from the heartbreak my husband caused to myself and our kids. It took that trauma for me to find Jesus again. I am thankful to God for everything I have been given in this life. God is gracious, God is good!!!!!!!!
One way to know if you have been “born again” or “regenerate” is your relationship to sin. The unregenerate are slaves to sin. When the Holy Spirit makes us alive we are given a new relationship with sin. We can’t continue in it. Sin disrupts our peace. When regenerate people sin, they will feel like a cat thrown in the mud. They want to get out and get right with their Father. When the unregenerate sin, they are like a pig in the mud. They love it. They don’t even realize they’re in mud.

Recently I have been praying about this and really questioning my salvation. Today, this started playing randomly on my phone. I had never heard of this pastor/channel before and idk how it even started playing or where it came from. Lately I’ve been struggling with assurance of my salvation, but now I realize that the spirit of God (Holy Spirit) dwells within me because I believe the Jesus Christ died on the cross and endured God’s wrath on sin for ME! Then God resurrected and brought Jesus back from the dead to show how powerful he is and to prove that he is the messiah. Also, the many miracles of the Holy Spirit that the video describes, I’ve experienced and now know that these only take place due to the spirit and not of my own carnal knowledge, but only the wisdom God has given me. It just amazes me how wonderful God is to send his only (PERFECT) son to die for all of us sinners, then to prove his power, he rose Jesus from the dead. God is always good in every situation even if we don’t see how the pieces intersect together. Jesus cleansed me of all sins so that I could be forgiven of all my sins and be a child of his for all eternity. I’m so glad to have the BEST DADDY EVER!!!!!!! GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING ME BECAUSE I CANT MAKE IT TO HEAVEN ON MY OWN AND ONLY YOU CAN SAVE ME WHICH YOU DID!!!!!! When I became a Christian I use to cry when my Christian friends use to pray for me or others... I just wanted to pray like them and I could not, and I tried but it just would not, and I was shy... They did not teach me but that did not mean I was far from God.. But then studying the word and praying a little at a time it came naturally.. Today when I pray the H/S leads me.. guides me and I often see tears in others eyes as it was with me... We need to seek pray for H/S to lead us. Amen💗💗💗

The Greek word for spirit is "pneuma". It literally means "breath". Comes from the word pneo which means to breathe. It is in the neuter gender thus Holy spirit is not a person. Think of a pneumatic tyre or nail gun. But because it has 5 aspects in the Bible it takes on the meaning "an invisible force". EG the WIND as at John 3:8. It can be an ANGEL as at Heb 1:7, It can mean ones dominant FEELING and motivation, eg he has a happy spirit or a sad spirit. It can mean the LIFE FORCE in us as breathers. O2 and food carried by the blood. or it will mean HOLY SPIRIT. the latter has 2 manifestations. One is the spirit one gets when one obtains an accurate knowledge and understanding of Gods word and really gets the sense of it. Acts 5:32 says God gives his spirit to those OBEYING him as best we can in accord with our differing levels of faith. so requires both. The other is when one receives the SPIRIT ANOINTING, OR IS BORN AGAIN. This process is also called being SEALED , and SPIRIT OF ADOPTION. 2 Cor 1:21,22. Eph.1:13, 4:30 , Colos. 4:4--6. Paul also called it "partakers of the heavenly calling" Heb 3;1. When one has this experience he will be filled with the spirit, certainly initially, but the level wil change with the passage of time. I know readers of this wont agree the spit is not a person. I can prove this with 20 biblical reasons should anyone call for such.

(11) Revelation always calls it "The spirit, KJV, and we read 7 lamps before Gods throne are 7 spirits. Do you say that means 7 persons of holy spirit? (it actually means the fulness of Gods spirit given to the "Lamb" (12) why is the expresion holy spirit not in the Hebrew either as indeed is the word trinity or anything remotely suggesting such. (13) Why is the Holy Spirit never praised, worshipped, or honored as are God and Jesus, Rev 5:15,16. (14) Why does h/s never say a greeting in all the N.T letters as did "God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ." All it does is guide, teach, anoint, and is used to convey new revelation. Why? because it is not a person. (15) And, it has no loving relationship with God or Jesus as they, since there is no communication by it with either. (16) Similarly 1 Cor 3:23 "You belong to Christ, Christ belongs to God. Who belongs to the h/s and does "he" belong to anybody.? (17) There is still 1 and a half billion members belonging to , according to Google, 33,000 divisions within the Christian realm. Does it make sense that "he" dwells in all of them?. many come and go from their "Christian" course. Does that mean "he" ducks in and out of them when they stray.??? (18) Jesus alternated in John chapters 14 through 16 speaking of "the spirit of the truth" and "helper" Greek paracletos. this is in the masculine gender and necessarily caries with it Masculine pronouns "he", "him and "whom" . (19) If one checks any Greek Interlinear the definite article "the" is not there in front of pnema, but commonly translators put it there anyway to help dress it up as a person. Especially in the early chapters of Acts. At other times they insert "He", "Him" when they too are not there. (20) Finally we see at 1 John 4:6 "the spirit of truth contrasted with "the spirit of error". So either both are persons or both are not. Also we see "the breath of God" is synonomous with the "spirit of God. Compare Psm 33;3 with Psm 104:29,30. KJV .There are more reasons it cant be a person, but that should suffice. See if you can choose a couple and refute the reasoning. or , see if you can find any verses that show we have an immortal soul or spirit.
My mind is on the Lord daily thanking him for my life. Thankful for being able to pray and go to church and receive holy communion. I try to repent of my sins daily. Being in control of emotions and not to complain. Getting along with others is a challenge sometimes , but I have to remember getting upset is not healthy it hurts your mind and body. I pray for control because we all have to deal with the evil ways of the world. Pray for each other cause others can’t, they live in darkness. 💫✝️

Amen. I was dead and was in no way seeking God. But now my whole worldview and affections (wavering as those affections may be from time to time) have taken a u turn. As flawed as I still am, I cannot find peace any longer in my former ways. Each time that I stray from the path, like a dumb sheep, His rod and His staff bring me back and give me comfort. Oh, wretched man that I am, who will free me from this body of death? God has done it and will complete it in the day of my Lord Jesus Christ.

This has been true for me as well. My whole worldview utterly changed. I felt so comfortable with the worldly view and sin….it seemed so natural and acceptable. When I accepted Jesus….everything flipped! Now things that seemed perfectly acceptable to me are now repugnant. My spirit reacts when I sin or am confronted by worldly things that I would have avidly embraced. I still get shocked by how much my views have changed in the matter of a year! I still experience a refining of my views….like my sense of what is right and proper are getting sharper by the day 🤷♀️

I was in the lowest place in my life and I prayed that Jesus would take my life, I was tired of my life. I started feeling so much love and peace. Parker Saxon I’ll pray for you. I’ve been there too. Took a major disaster to make me give up my sin ( though I’m still tempted). My advice: Pray that Jesus would show you the way out when you are tempted. Get your mind on Him and (this is important)...find a trusted Christian who is older in the faith than you, and ask them to be a spiritual mentor to you, as well as help you by prayer, and holding you accountable by being blunt honest with each and confessing sins to each other.
I've been in your position before. I kept on coming back to my old sin of immorality even though I have become a " Christian". I only began to overcome it and have victory over it when I submitted to God and gave my all to him, not 50% or 99% of myself but 100%, and just be obedient and do his will for me.

John makes a very important point. I've heard pastors ask congregations to raise their hands when they got saved. Well, 99.9% of them will associate their "salvation" with the day they were baptized. However, if you were to press many of those people, most would be honest enough to say that they don't remember when they were TRULY saved. I'm a living testimony to this occurrence. For years. I struggled with a particular sin--I'm talking about MANY years . . . .decades in fact. I didn't have true victory over that sin until this last year. When I truly got serious about my sin, I got serious with God. With brokenness and repentance, I KNOW that the Holy Spirit has filled me because when I'm even tempted to commit this sin, I have an overwhelming conviction NOT to commit it. That is something I didn't experience before. Today, I KNOW that I'm saved--no doubt about it. I'm definitely filled with the Holy Spirt and my life has been eternally changed.

I personally feel a kind of fire in my body physically when I become impassioned by the Spirit. When i am bold in my prayers, I feel a tickling heat course through my body and sometimes an embrace or a wind come upon me. I feel this especially when I've had to rebuke tormenting demons in my presence. If I let myself become empowered with scripture and tell Satan to get behind me, I feel totally consumed in spirit. He has helped banish even the memory of those terrible demons away from my mind. They are dead and will not rise again. Incredible.

Our human egos tend to draw us into either or thinking, or black & white thinking when sometimes the answer is grey. His explanation is about having the Holy Spirit vs being filled up with the Holy Spirit. The Bible also teaches about quenching the Spirit with our sin. You are correcting that there are many over churched & under reached human souls in the church today. I was one for 35 years. As a Calvinist i interpret that as God’s plan for my life. He predestined my salvation initiation to begin at the chronological age of 35. One way to know if you have been “born again” or “regenerate” is your relationship to sin. The unregenerate are slaves to sin. When the Holy Spirit makes us alive we are given a new relationship with sin. We can’t continue in it. Sin disrupts our peace. When regenerate people sin, they will feel like a cat thrown in the mud. They want to get out and get right with their Father. When the unregenerate sin, they are like a pig in the mud. They love it. They don’t even realize they’re in mud.

Lately I’ve been struggling with assurance of my salvation, but now I realize that the spirit of God (Holy Spirit) dwells within me because I believe the Jesus Christ died on the cross and endured God’s wrath on sin for ME! Then God resurrected and brought Jesus back from the dead to show how powerful he is and to prove that he is the messiah. Also, the many miracles of the Holy Spirit that the video describes, I’ve experienced and now know that these only take place due to the spirit and not of my own carnal knowledge, but only the wisdom God has given me. It just amazes me how wonderful God is to send his only (PERFECT) son to die for all of us sinners, then to prove his power, he rose Jesus from the dead. God is always good in every situation even if we don’t see how the pieces intersect together. Jesus cleansed me of all sins so that I could be forgiven of all my sins and be a child of his for all eternity. I’m so glad to have the BEST DADDY EVER!!!!!!! When I became a Christian I use to cry when my Christian friends use to pray for me or others... I just wanted to pray like them and I could not, and I tried but it just would not, and I was shy... They did not teach me but that did not mean I was far from God.. But then studying the word and praying a little at a time it came naturally.. People, that’s all you need is faith. Only believe. The church needs a revelation of faith. Faith is simple, only believe. Consume the word of God and your faith will grow. When you do works whatever it is, use that faith! Don’t doubt, it’s so easy and God can do so much more!
The Greek word for spirit is "pneuma". It literally means "breath". Comes from the word pneo which means to breathe. It is in the neuter gender thus Holy spirit is not a person. Think of a pneumatic tyre or nail gun. But because it has 5 aspects in the Bible it takes on the meaning "an invisible force". EG the WIND as at John 3:8. It can be an ANGEL as at Heb 1:7, It can mean ones dominant FEELING and motivation, eg he has a happy spirit or a sad spirit. It can mean the LIFE FORCE in us as breathers. O2 and food carried by the blood. or it will mean HOLY SPIRIT. the latter has 2 manifestations. One is the spirit one gets when one obtains an accurate knowledge and understanding of Gods word and really gets the sense of it. Acts 5:32 says God gives his spirit to those OBEYING him as best we can in accord with our differing levels of faith. so requires both. The other is when one receives the SPIRIT ANOINTING, OR IS BORN AGAIN. This process is also called being SEALED , and SPIRIT OF ADOPTION. 2 Cor 1:21,22. Eph.1:13, 4:30 , Colos. 4:4--6. Paul also called it "partakers of the heavenly calling" Heb 3;1. When one has this experience he will be filled with the spirit, certainly initially, but the level wil change with the passage of time. I know readers of this wont agree the spit is not a person. I can prove this with 20 biblical reasons should anyone call for such.

Especially in the early chapters of Acts. At other times they insert "He", "Him" when they too are not there. (20) Finally we see at 1 John 4:6 "the spirit of truth contrasted with "the spirit of error". So either both are persons or both are not. Also we see "the breath of God" is synonomous with the "spirit of God. Compare Psm 33;3 with Psm 104:29,30. KJV .There are more reasons it cant be a person, but that should suffice. My mind is on the Lord daily thanking him for my life. Thankful for being able to pray and go to church and receive holy communion. I try to repent of my sins daily. Being in control of emotions and not to complain. Getting along with others is a challenge sometimes , but I have to remember getting upset is not healthy it hurts your mind and body. This has been true for me as well. My whole worldview utterly changed. I felt so comfortable with the worldly view and sin….it seemed so natural and acceptable. When I accepted Jesus….everything flipped! Now things that seemed perfectly acceptable to me are now repugnant. My spirit reacts when I sin or am confronted by worldly things that I would have avidly embraced. I still get shocked by how much my views have changed in the matter of a year! I still experience a refining of my views….like my sense of what is right and proper are getting sharper by the day 🤷♀️

Parker Saxon I’ll pray for you. I’ve been there too. Took a major disaster to make me give up my sin ( though I’m still tempted). My advice: Pray that Jesus would show you the way out when you are tempted. Get your mind on Him and (this is important)...find a trusted Christian who is older in the faith than you, and ask them to be a spiritual mentor to you, as well as help you by prayer, and holding you accountable by being blunt honest with each and confessing sins to each other.
I've been in your position before. I kept on coming back to my old sin of immorality even though I have become a " Christian". I only began to overcome it and have victory over it when I submitted to God and gave my all to him, not 50% or 99% of myself but 100%, and just be obedient and do his will for me.
You would know it for sure. It is a loving feeling. Ever since I got baptized at 27 I got the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gets you through rough times. What I went through in my life I should have died. God protected me.

John makes a very important point. I've heard pastors ask congregations to raise their hands when they got saved. Well, 99.9% of them will associate their "salvation" with the day they were baptized. However, if you were to press many of those people, most would be honest enough to say that they don't remember when they were TRULY saved. I'm a living testimony to this occurrence. For years. I struggled with a particular sin--I'm talking about MANY years . . . .decades in fact. I didn't have true victory over that sin until this last year. When I truly got serious about my sin, I got serious with God. With brokenness and repentance, I KNOW that the Holy Spirit has filled me because when I'm even tempted to commit this sin, I have an overwhelming conviction NOT to commit it. That is something I didn't experience before. Today, I KNOW that I'm saved--no doubt about it. I'm definitely filled with the Holy Spirt and my life has been eternally changed.

I just started listening to Pastor since yesterday and I really love his answers. A real man of God.
I asked the holy spirit in at 11 or 12 while singing a praise song. Could feel peace and love, and the spirit fights against angry or critical feelings toward others, reminding me that I was forgiven of much. Fights ALL evil thoughts for me, and is a warner against deceit.
This describes every day of my life since God moved into my life about a month ago! Thank Jesus my cup overflows with every moment

I personally feel a kind of fire in my body physically when I become impassioned by the Spirit. When i am bold in my prayers, I feel a tickling heat course through my body and sometimes an embrace or a wind come upon me. I feel this especially when I've had to rebuke tormenting demons in my presence. If I let myself become empowered with scripture and tell Satan to get behind me, I feel totally consumed in spirit. He has helped banish even the memory of those terrible demons away from my mind. They are dead and will not rise again. Incredible.

I believe I was lost thinking I had to do something in my power,my control and not realizing the sovereign gift of salvation. The finished work of Jesus Christ is a free gift to me. Jesus said that he would send a helper so if you beleive and follow Christ you should receive the Spirit.
Both are right because when Pastor John said all he meant as in all Christians, and by that real Christians. There are many fake Christians, who will not receive the Spirit and will not stay the course.

Wise Virgin You have made an observation that is valid. However, both Jesus & Piper can be right at the same time. Our human egos tend to draw us into either or thinking, or black & white thinking when sometimes the answer is grey. In this instance Piper seems to be speaking more generally about truly regenerated, blood washed, born again, Holy Spirit indwealing children of God. His explanation is about having the Holy Spirit vs being filled up with the Holy Spirit. The Bible also teaches about quenching the Spirit with our sin. Piper does not go into the topic you are describing about the wheat & tares, sheep & goats, elect & non-elect, false converts, etc... You are correcting that there are many over churched & under reached human souls in the church today. I was one for 35 years. As a Calvinist i interpret that as God’s plan for my life. He predestined my salvation initiation to begin at the chronological age of 35. Thank the Lord He doesn’t give up on His elect! 🙌🏼🙏🏼 It is one of our responsibilities now as converts to evangelize the world and fulfill our part in the Great Commission. Perseverance of the Saints is an excellent doctrine to study. With Truth & Grace ❤️
