  • How to remove urine stains from carpet without using harsh chemicals. Follow our simple tutorial for dog urine stain and odor removal from carpets. We are simply using eco friendly vinegar to neutralise the pet urine and then a wet/dry vacuum to extract from the carpet.
This was dog urine (the dog had a pee pee accident). Please note that if your carpet or rug is made of wool the urine may have chemically burnt the fiber and you won't be able to remove the stain, though these steps should help lighten the urine staining. This unfortunately means that the carpet or rug is damaged and this cannot be cleaned. Vinegar will stop uric crystals forming as the urine denatures which will stop damage occurring in the first place so if your dog or cat pees on your carpet or rug, grab your wet/dry vacuum and follow the steps to remove the stain. The vinegar will also remove the odour from the pee, even if its cat pee.
To remove the urine stains from the carpet you will need a wet/dry vacuum, a cotton towel, white vinegar 50:50 with water, and a spray bottle.
You are looking to neutralise the urine stain with the vinegar and remove or rinse it out with the wet vacuum. Best practice would be to lift the carpet pad to remove the urine stain but that isn't always an option.

Thank you so much. I thought oxy was a good idea too. We recently had a power cut during the night which set the smart meter monitor into alarm mode. The dog was terrified and opened the kitchen door, ran upstairs and tried to batter our bedroom door down and had an accident in the process. Being the age we are, no one would believe this true story. Again thank you, and our reputations remains intact.

Cool, continuous spray contraption. Is there a need to let the solution sit or agitation? Thanks for the information. Beautiful house incidentally.

Hi, so do you recommend this method on stains that haven’t had a cleaning agent put on them yet? So for older type stains that have just been mopped up but not cleaned?

Yes, absolutely. The quicker you can get to them the better and the vinegar/water mix wont damage anything and will prevent uric crystals forming.

Cleaning How To great! So a 50/50 water/vinegar mix? White vinegar I guess?

@@Deeeno066 Yes exactly. You dont need to saturate the carpet. Try to match the amount of pee that went into the carpet if that makes sense. You can repeat the process a few times but don't over work the area. Less is more you're trying to remove the urine not spread it.

I allways use clear or apple cider vinegar I've not got any stains but I can still smell the enzymes in carpet do you have any tipes getting them out so they don't continue to use same spot. Vinegar is supposed to be good vets told me to use none bio soap luquide but that still didn't work

Dunno why they told you to use non bio - use bio washing powder to break down the urine and then flush with the vinegar and water - if its very bad call a pro.
