A very cool train with a very big nose :) It is often said, but I love how clean it is. People here in the UK have no respect for the property of others. A new train or bus will only look new for a few days. It will be damaged and covered in graffiti and stains very quickly. It is so nice to see a part of the world where people have respect.

You're right to a certain extent... litter is always a problem here in the UK but not all systems suffer from graffiti. I live in Coventry and the buses are graffiti-free. The Metro in Birmingham is also kept in good condition. Incidentally Coventry and Oxford will be the first cities in the UK to have all-electric bus fleets and Coventry will nave the very first Very Light Rail system, fully battery-powered with fast recharging at the ends of the route. So no need for catenary and lower technical requirements for the track, which means quicker build times and lower costs. The cars will operate singly initially (capacity for 56 passengers) but with the option of working in pairs, *virtually-coupled" ( i.e. no physical connection but software-controlled) It'll be interesting to see it in operation.

Same here in Germany. Seats getting sliced up, toilets stink of piss all over, A/C is down when outside more than 30°C, dining cars defect most of the times. Half of the trains delayed. The stations? Same as in UK, there's an army of grafitti sprayers, and the railroads long have given up to drive them off. In Berlin, there's essentially no square inch in public view they haven't destroyed. And the government? They say we had to find it "cool", a "part of youth culture" and "belonging to a metropole". But if you park your car more than 2 minutes in a wrong zone, you getting ticketed at once. That's how "the west" has become. Stay clean and polite, Japan, it helps a lot, believe me.

Loving the changes in the N700S. Most of all, they make so much sense, if you've ever ridden in an N700A. Not that the old model is a bad train, mind you; on the contrary, it's excellent. But these changes will help you be even more comfortable in your ride. Specially the new screens!

1:22 The nose shape is for going through tunnels at high speeds. The very first high speed trains with more conventional front ends were setting up sonic booms going through tunnels because of the air pressure building up at the front of the train. This design cuts through the air and prevents pressure build up in tunnels.

The head/front of the N700S reminds me of a sports car.
Cool comfy ride plus delicious sand! 🚄🥪👍🏽👍🏽😀

Very nice train, looks easy to clean quickly with no real sharp edges, just smooth lines.

I'm always envious of the trains and the fact that they put the entire country within a few hours travel, give or take a bus ride.
