I'll try and keep this short, but I could share much more. Back in the 70's and 80's we had a friend named Keith O'Hara who lived in Goler (wash, we called it) in a mobile home, so we've been out there and explored many times, and had many adventures. Yes, there were huge gold (placer) deposits there in the distant past. I heard a softball-sized nugget was once found. Former miners had dug tunnels all the way down to bedrock, under the sand. Some of those tunnels remain, last time I checked. I have no comment on the story of Goler's discovery. The problem with present-day mining there, in my opinion, is that probably every square inch of ground has a claim on it. Even when we were there, we "accidentally" were prospecting on somone else's claim, and were challenged a few times. In the nearby town of Randsburg, there is a museum in town that has further information on the Goler area.
Wow, thats cool that you were able to prospect in that area! Did you ever find any? It can be difficult to find even tiny pieces in some areas. Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate your story time, however it seems as though it's become the common trend amongst video uploaders, to ask for things.. people subscribe when they subscribe. not when asked. it's a turn off for me. but again, thank you for your time in uploading this. Just my 2cents. take it or leave it

I love your stories but wish you would add more images, maps, articles and even Google earth locations.
With all your stories you should compile them together and write a book I'm sure it would do very well...
Just to let everyone know in this case, “Spring” means Creek. He’s at a creek

Goler's wash is the same place they talk about in the Manson family story as well.
Believe it or not, that is a "different" Goler's wash on the outskirts of Death Valley. The one in the video is not associated with the Manson family.
