- Kia Sorento owner and friend Kenneth Sow invited me to check out his 2017-2018 Kia Sorento diesel in the Genting run. It is a very nice and powerful SUV, and is nice to drive. The Sorento is made for family use, and seats 7 people in great comfort.
Despite its weight, the Sorento did a good job, and the run was quite good except for some tyre screeching, but that was just me trying to maintain a good speed through the bends. Thanks Kenneth, for the ride.
We also met up with other Sorento owners at Genting, and I made many new friends that day. - Авто та транспорт
Ive been watching your videos for the past week uncle. Cant believe u can tell the tire needs more pressure just by driving.
Truly a sifu.
You can actually feel the tyre folding in when taking the corner. Acquired skill. This is not the first time. I have found cars with too much air, and too little air.
Another great driving from the master, it's pleasure watching you drive at Genting Hill Climb, spectacular view.🏎🏎🏎
Thank you Johnny.
Much anticipated video 👍
The advise on steering hand positioning was very useful. I prefer the push pull method as well...for the same reason explained by Mr Khong. Enjoyed the video...👍
Thank you.
Wow thanks. Have been waiting for this!
Thanks for waiting. Sorry I took so long. Had a lot of videos to be done. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@YSKhongDriving thanks for the effort and the review was very informative. Planning to own 1 but can't decide.
Nice review! Thanks for sharing the different and proper steering holding methods. :)
No problem. Thanks for being on our channel.
Me too drive with the push pull method. Singapore driving schools teaches that way. If we cross our hands during turning, we will get minus points.
Thanks Uncle for the steering tips. I always thought hand-over-hand technique meant crossing the hands when turning the steering!
No worries. The more people learn, the better. Too many people misunderstand the concept. I had one guy lock his hands up and ran out of road trying to turn left into a junction, and would up on the opposite lane. Luckily there were no oncoming cars. You should have heard and seen the shelling he got from me.
The tips of holding steering is useful
Thanks uncle🤙
If he did, then the gears would be clashing.
@@YSKhongDrivinghahahaha
Thanks Uncle YS for reviewing such a good SUV ! I am happy to own one ! 😃👍🏻
I always wanted one, but never got down to buying it. A 4WD truck is much more affordable, so I have a truck.
Hi . I plan buy the second hand. Rm88k ard. The car part and services is ok ?
Nice one, YS. By the way I also using push pull method, for me is easier to change direction quickly.
Hi Azlan, I prefer oush- pull too. If driving a truck, it is better as it requires less effort.
power la uncle...
Hand position clarified by Sifu. Now I'm clearer on this. I pity the 2 miatas la. 😂 But hey, I know how such diesel SUV can go and perform. I have a 4 years old Santa Fe 2.2 oso. Thank you YS for sharing.
Hahaha, same engine, very powerful!
Thumbs up
I have a butt dyno but knowing the tire pressure is another level. Enjoy the vid, uncle Khong
👍👍👍
MX-5's: we r kings of this hill, RWD, 50/50, reputed driving machine. We're going to stay on the overtaking lane
Uncle YS in 2-ton 7 seater: hold my kopi-O *overtakes from the left*
Driving SUV like sportscar.. 😅anyway, this Sorento really under estimate in Malaysia market
Uncle khong,if this car compare with Mazda CX-8 diesel, with car you feel have more fun to drive?
I will have to take the CX8 up the mountain to compare. We did a test on level ground and it was good, but hard to tell at this moment which is better. Anyway this Sorento is the previous model and not the 8-speed.
Look very powerfull when climbing.
My crv not as fast as that
I like the engine sound when accelerate
440 Nm torque is good to have.
Can you share info about the 360 camera?
It's just like any other 360 camera - it shows a composite picture of the area around your vehicle, to help you reverse or park.
This is a real "test drive"....so scary.
Great video as always! I have a question for you, do you ever watch Initial D?
No, never. But I did drive the real AE86 in the Malaysian rally championships.
@@YSKhongDriving Cool! You should do your rally experience and how you get to rally, I'm sure everyone would love that
Hmmm, let me think about how to do that. Fantastic idea! Thanks, bro!
Uncle, are you driving this car on stock suspension?
Yes
Do you have a fortuner genting run?
No yet.
nice one. i can feel this SUV is 2 ton just from the video lol. just a little bit steering angle and tires start to make noise
Can review Toyota wish 2nd gen?
That car is quite old, and difficult to get.
Could Sorento 2.4 Petrol pull it up at genting?
Should be able to.
@@YSKhongDriving Thanks boss..
Hi, this model is petrol or diesel?
Diesel
It look like u crusing above 140?
Some parts of the video may be sped up for dramatic purposes.
Heyy YS Khong can you drive Kia rondo pls . Is quite old but is a nice car for me ,I hope you can try it . Is a 2.0 frontwheel drive car
I have one too. Bought preloved. Very underrated crossover.
Please try fortuner diesel uncle to climb up
Let's try to get a car.
Thx uncle, been waiting to see the review for this car. Would be great if can review the 8 speeder too.
Trying to arrange a car.
@@YSKhongDriving TQ Uncle
Hi uncle... pls drive honda civic 1.5 turbo... pls
Waiting for the launch of the updated version.
Still waiting for Picanto...
Sorry, no car yet.
uncle toyota CHR review pls
I will try to get a car.
Me sow u a little scared right there..
Hahaha.
The car looks heavy from the 1st Genting corner. I think for a Suv for that size and weight, it's acceptable....
Yes. It was actually designed for comfort. And it really seats seven.
@@YSKhongDriving overall, it's good
Yes. And if you need to move heavy vehicles like this, a diesel makes good sense.
@@YSKhongDriving good tip. I will be considering diesel for my kerata kerbau.
this uncle manyak laju
Hahaha, kereta power!
So many sorento
Hahaha
Can I say “never”?
KIA is a top European brand with an excellent piece of machinery but the name is tainted by Naza KIA.. The sole distributor in Malaysia with a very bad reputation.. Had a first hand experience, very disappointed..
Thanks for your comments. I agree the local distributor is very important in any brand. Very sorry to hear you had a bad experience: I am sure it was not their intention to displease their customers. Kia is from Korea.
@@YSKhongDriving Yup yup.. My Bad Mr Khong, I meant to say KIA is a korean car which is a top brand in Europe and North America..
I am the only one that sees that the driver is constantly changing lanes and he is driving over the white uninterrupted line too?. The only one WHO thinks that he is a dangerous driver?
His driving is considerably more dangerous than the typical way we drive our cars. But who would be watching if uncle drives slowly XD
