Hello from England When the International Hotel in Vegas was sold to Barron Hilton there is a video of ELVIS being "walked through the service areas of the Hotel by the Memphis Mafia to the stage and they walk past the canteen area where the staff eat. AMAZING. ELVIS was never able to get on any stage via the normal routes else there would have been mayhem and he might have got injured. When ELVIS bought the Lisa Marie in 1975 he would GET OUT OF THE LIMOUSINE UP THE STEPS TO THE PLANE WITH THE MEMPHIS MAFIA IN TOW AND JET OFF WHEN HE GOT TO A PLACE HE WOULD THEN WALK DOWN THE STEPS OFF THE PLANE, GET INTO THE LIMOUSINE WITH THE MEMPHIS MAFIA IN TOW AND HE WOULD BE DRIVEN OFF. At this time towards the end ELVIS i guess never really saw anybody! As you say i cannot think of any other artist that would have to OR WANT to do that but such different times and different people 50+ years ago OH MY Even so i just love those times the 60's and the 70's with ELVIS I was 12 when ELVIS died but the entertainment value he gave was OFF THE RICHTER SCALE.
The looks on the faces of his fans says it all. He had us mesmerised utterly and completely. My memory of him at the Cow Palace is burnt into my mind forever.

You can thank the U.S. army for the start of his addiction to pills. I myself went through that very same thing at 18 when a doctor offered me amphetamines after I expressed concern over some weight gain. I knew nothing about pills. Took me years to get off that horse. Imagine living his life and trying to beat that addiction. I can attest to that, and I'm nobody.
