    That will keep your mind sharp.......
    My routine is slower and more ordered/methodical as I do a lot of predator control on the farm with small cal/case which requires extreme accuracy in hand loading, powder doesn’t run through the funnel without tapping and flat base proji’s don’t sit in necks. As a creature of habit I can’t change methods for my other cartridges including precision guns/components, I’m stuck with the same routine but don’t really mind, sort of use to it.

    I moved my reloading area from the garage (where I was banished to languish in the winter freezing & summer baking) to a room in the house. Well, now I've found my floor is bouncy, and I guess now I gotta either figure out how to climate control the garage (not gonna be easy or cheap) or use a pre-fab work building that is climate controlled (also not cheap.) I have tried several things to minimize vibration, but I'm kinda an oversize humanbear creature that can't seem to be still very long. I have two of the ATv4's on order. Can't wait til they get here. I try to load not so much for speed but to just get it right. The AMP annealer and press have really outlined some areas I needed to improve upon. It's amazing how much data you can actually accrue. I want one of those shirts John. I emailed Capstone. Hoping they let me buy one. I measure to the kernel as well. I just can't not do it.

      For new brass there is zero reason to anneal the brass this is done after loadings when the brass is getting hard and can become cracking necks and trimming brass is not needed for new brass and if for hunting loads then loading for match shooting all of that to get same hole groups is a waste of time for hunting ammo.
      The kill area on a deer can be 1 foot area and if a large magnum the deer is done for.

    In comparison to my manual trickling this is an immense speed up. Thanks for showing this live experience. Actually I am waiting for the SuperTrickler to be available and experimenting with the Open Trickler in the meantime. Adjusting the dosage is in fact the most time consuming and relevant part in accuracy reloading once your charge is defined.

    One. Thought you had two powder scales?
    Two. How you're setup has evolved.
    Three. As you resent match results have show, a cernal seems to be a lot.

      One. Thought you had two powder scales?
      I do but for this video just ran one
      Two. How you're setup has evolved.
      Yes it has, I'm always tweaking stuff
      Three. As you resent match results have show, a cernal seems to be a lot.
      A kernel honestly shouldn't make a difference if your node is wide enough but I still like knowing it's that consistent.

    15:34 I think your statement that this is not a progressive press has to be qualified. Your powder charger AND possibly also your press are automatically actuated, enabling you to do things in the interim with both hands free. To a certain extent, this is a semi-progressive, semi-mechanized workflow. Don't get me wrong; it's a sweet setup and I wish I could justify it.

    All I can tell you, is before I retired, after work during the week, that level of coordination wasn't going to happen, too much at the end of the day with that job, it was mostly mental work and the brain was fried by that time of the day. Probably be more like a hour for me.

    • @bruce6099
      @bruce6099 2 роки тому

      @@FClassJohn I would actually prefer brass prep over charging cases. I only use charemaster lite though, auto trickler throws a charge in about 1/3 the time as the chargemaster. Charging cases just feels like the slowest part of the process.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 роки тому

      @@bruce6099 yeah powder is almost always this biggest blockade to speed no matter how you load.

  • @JacobTerherst

    I’m closer to 28 rounds in 100 minutes, or at least it feels like it.

  • @mab0852
    @mab0852 2 роки тому +2

    Respect your system and results, but why bother loading brass in the block since the powder is the process bottle neck and your storage box is keeping count? Loading the block with brass is just an unnecessary step in your process since your throughput is 100% dictated by the powder measure speed. My workflow is the same as yours but I just use the tray as a shellholder for the round being charged. After 4 or 5 times double charging or sloshing powder I quit charging in preloaded trays. I can see exactly what went in or didn't make it into the case. No worries getting random kernels into adjacent cases or double charging one. As long as the thrower isn't sitting idle you're going as fast as possible.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 роки тому

      Yeah that makes sense. Maybe I'll try it, I'm not afraid to see if a better system is out there that could help.
