On a "Sandlot" reunion show, the reporter asked the boys (now adults) about working with James Earl Jones. They said that they were in awe working with him and finally got up the courage to ask if he was really Darth Vader. He replied in his classic Darth Vader voice, "No, I am your father." They all said that was the most memorable moment making the film.
The Sandlot will forever be my favorite baseball movie ever. Thank you for reacting to this. This movie was my introduction to baseball & Babe Ruth as a kid
Yes the movie is called 42 and Jackie Robinson is played by the late Chadwick Boseman, another legend 🙏🏼 I highly recommend it. Such a beautiful and emotional movie
The actor playing the young Benny is the younger brother of the actor playing the older Benny. I grew up at the time of the movie. Every neighborhood had a group of kids like those guys. It was a great time to be a kid.
The boys imagination aside, St. Bernards are very big dogs. They can be intimidating if you're not use to seeing or interacting with big dogs. Granted, St. Bernards are not the largest dog breed in the world but they're still intimating in person
I love the amusement ride scene because it hilariously puts you there. The spinning ride, the wailing saxophone solo in the "Tequila " song, almost makes you feel nauseous watching it. Especially knowing they're chewing tobacco. I think those kids deserved an oscar, because they looked really sick, especially Porter.
This movie was straight up my childhood.. I miss these days of going to the park down the street and meeting the local neighborhood kids and just living our best lives outside.. now and days kids just don’t have the same experience of finding their own adventures
I will admit, when I watched this as a kid, I had a crush on the actor playing Benny. I had the hots for him. But other than that, I love this movie. And shout out to a respect to Jame's Earl Joans. who just passed away. He will live in my heart forever.
The reason the beast is so big and scary and making terrifying noises and such is a play on how the KIDS imagine the dog. It's their imagination and the way the narrator would've told the story if he were a kid is what we see in the movie.
This is the Movie Of My youth that still has mad quotables that I say to this day. Good looking & much respect MJ for this one beautiful. Didn't know you had so much ink..dope The 4th of July scene always chokes me up 😢 and I'm 47yrs old
Im so happy that Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez is on the Mount RushMore of GOATED kid characters in film. Every kid, girl or boy, remembers or at least wished they had a friend as cool as he was.
My favorite movie that stars James Earl Jones was Cluadine. It came out in 1974 and it also stars Diahann Carroll. I ❤ that movie so much. The kids and their antics make the film.
Little Rascals, The Sandlot, Little Giants, Angels in the Outfield, Mighty Ducks, 3 Ninjas...all those movies came out around the same time, so it makes sense that you keep putting those two movies together Anyhoo, great review as usual!
He was in 2 other baseball movies. "Field Of Dreams" is a must watch and "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars And Motor Kings". Adult Benny was played by young Benny's big brother.
the part where they threw the glove, one of the gloves actually hit me or the boys in the face lol. i think we all had a crush on benny growing up, i know i did. the pitcher he played in a movie called people under the stairs he was way younger in that movie than here. me and my sister always say lines from movies, especially the lost boys which you should definitely consider reacting to, one of the best movies along with the crow with brandon lee in it, the old one, we always say lines from the goonies, and the sandlot. RIP to the guy that plays the blind guy in the movie, he just recently passed away.
This movie takes me back to my childhood. James Earl Jones’ role was small in this movie. Another movie that James Earl Jones was in was Meteor Man. The movie about Jackie Robinson is called 42. The late Chadwick Boseman played Jackie Robinson.
I love the sandlot specially James Earl Jones that was a side cameo character of this movie. Also, I love baseball. I did my journey playing pro and when you introduce baseball is usually filled dreams or sandlot about a kid that just plays baseball no matter what skill level they’re at, they just have fun. That’s what me and my childhood friends had backed in today Sucks is we hit a lot of Home runs that we keep losing Baseballs in the woods this movie is the Americana icon even if you’re a baseball fan or not or just introduce about the film itself
George Herman "Babe" Ruth (February 6, 1895 - August 16, 1948) was an American professional baseball player whose career in Major League Baseball (MLB) spanned 22 seasons, from 1914 through 1935. Nicknamed "The Bambino" and "The Sultan of Swat", he began his MLB career as a star left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees. Ruth is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. In 1936, Ruth was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members.
James Earl Jones also appears in another baseball themed movie called Field of Dreams alongside Kevin Costner and a few other notables. He actively has a major role in this one.
8:11 aye MJ L7 means square when you put it up together with your hands , he was calling him a lame, it cracks me up every time I watch this movie 😂😂😂😂
I definitely enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it. Angels In The Outfield, Major League I & 2, and Rookie Of The Year are other great baseball movies.
You have to follow this up with a reaction to The Bad News Bears (1976), widely considered one of the greatest sports movies of all time. It was the movie that inspired all the other kids' sports movies. RIP Mr. Jones; the voice, the legend.
This was a great movie when I was growing up in my childhood. This is one of my favorite movies still to this day. I’m a huge San Francisco Giants baseball fan so I was surprised when I saw this pop up on my timeline. I thought you had already reacted to this, but nonetheless, I’m excited to see your reaction. 🔥💯
😂 the chewing tobacco scene… now as an adult this is extra funny. You don’t chew it. You damn sure don’t swallow……I can imagine how they felt… they were sick sick!
Should definitely check out Stand by me as well! Hopefully someone else has recommended it. The sandlot and Standy by me are my favorite classic movies!
Loving this reaction. Smalls running like he has a diper on is crazy. When i was a kid that story of the beast gave me nightmares. I want a smores now 🤤🤤 when i seen that lifeguard today i was like "Hellooooooo future wifey 🤍🤍"
You used to be able to see the actual Sandlot area. The Sandlot was behind 1388 Glenrose Dr. S Salt Lake City, Utah 84104. I'm not sure if there still are, but I have read that there were "No Trespassing" signs at this location. It's apparently well-known that the owner of the property does not want people to visit it. Also, there are houses completely surrounding the property, so unless you trespass there is no way on it. The last time I saw it on Google, they developed it into a more residential neighborhood and may have added houses where the actual Sandlot was. Do not go here, this is just for info purposes only. It's privately owned by someone. It is fun to be able to look up the location, though.
There is a movie all about Jackie Robinson's life and it's called 42. Chadwick Boseman played Jackie Robinson RIP to James Earl Jones. He will always be an icon!!
Yes, the movie "42" Jackie Robinson played by the amazing Chadwick Boseman. You should definitely check it out, no one else could've done it better than Chadwick. May he R.I.P
Loved this reaction!😀 You really should see James Earl Jones in "Field Of Dreams", he has a much bigger role and has a beautiful monologue towards the end that will give you chills.
i had similar as a child i had a group of abt like 6 ftiends we all lived in the area and within a 1 year span we all parted ways ... instead of baseball . it was bakugan . wwe. and bikes for us . imiss it more than anything to get those days back
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMAN lol your dogs know you tho dear.. do those three rotties ever chase you thru the city barking at you and trying to bite the sh*t outta you?? Lol you can’t use your own pets as an example silly lolol
Did I not just say I’d get bit before I ran? I like dogs period. I’m not a running away crying screaming kind of person. I would sit there, let them sense there’s no threat or fear, if they still choose to attack, I’m screwed. 🙄
"She knows he's just a kid" lol Wendy was a teenager, too. Probably just a couple years older. Park pool lifeguard was a teenager job. It was my first job when i was 16. I don't know of any park that had a lifeguard that WASN'T still in high school back in those days. Yeah as a high schooler she definitely thought of middle school Squints as a kid but she definitely also respected the balls on him for trying that stunt 😂
RIP James Earl Jones
He was both a hero and a legend.
@@darthken815 Yes! 👍👍💓💓❤❤
Legends never die.
The realest comment on this one so far 🙌🏼

Yes the movie is called 42 and Jackie Robinson is played by the late Chadwick Boseman, another legend 🙏🏼 I highly recommend it. Such a beautiful and emotional movie
A pickle in baseball is when a runner is in between bases and trying to run back and forth without getting tagged by the ball.
The actor playing the young Benny is the younger brother of the actor playing the older Benny.
I grew up at the time of the movie. Every neighborhood had a group of kids like those guys. It was a great time to be a kid.
Yeah, his name was Pablo P Vitar. He died at age 42 in 2008. Rest easy Older Benny.
Rest in peace James this movie got me interested in playing baseball ⚾️ when I was a kid
Same I played for a team from elementary school up to high school all from watching sandlot! I’m only 25 but this movie impacted my childhood for sure
The boys imagination aside, St. Bernards are very big dogs. They can be intimidating if you're not use to seeing or interacting with big dogs. Granted, St. Bernards are not the largest dog breed in the world but they're still intimating in person
lol I have three big dogs I guess that’s why it’s so cute to me 🥰
I don't think that's a Saint Bernard. It looks like an English Mastiff. Point still stands about it being intimidating though.
MY ALL TIME CHILDHOOD FILM CANT WAIT 🤩
Rest in Heaven, James Earl Jones.
Hopefully, you’ll look into the Mighty Ducks Trilogy.
I love the amusement ride scene because it hilariously puts you there. The spinning ride, the wailing saxophone solo in the "Tequila " song, almost makes you feel nauseous watching it. James Earl Jones also appeared in a martial arts movie from the 80’s called “Best Of the Best”, he was one of the main characters of the movie.
