- Watch as the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) commissions 77 new Texas Highway Patrol Troopers from its A-2020 recruit class. Class A-2020 was the department’s 166th recruit class and graduated on July 17, 2020. As the newest members of the Texas Highway Patrol, these 77 men and women join the ranks of thousands of commissioned DPS officers across the state who have devoted their lives to protecting and serving the people of Texas.

Must be nice to have a governor that supports law enforcement. I work for an agency in Southern California and feel like we’re hated every day.
He is anti mask mandate and anti abortion, Texas is getting closer to banning critical race theory, Greg Abbott is one of the best governors both Texas and America have seen

I'm not anti Law enforcement but most of these guys know very little about the law and borderline harass drivers who are traveling in the rural western counties of TX ( Jeff Davis, Presidio, Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth). I personally know people who were pulled over for "moving violations" that were not actually violations at all. No hate here but we'd appreciate DPS not sending the new Boot/Shower shoe troopers out to west Texas to do OJT.
All those hats made me proud, congrats brothers , stay safe out there.

I’m 15 and since 2 years ago I want to be one I will work for it it’s my dream job I’m a freshmen and I’m working class to get good grades and get in shape I envy them so much they are my hero’s

Thank you the Troopers keeping us safe from the bottom of my heart. That little girl will remember that Trooper for the rest of her life. I hope he can contact her later. I was trafficked. It's horrible, horrible. It's like a never ending nightmare.
I have never met a rude Trooper.
1 night, years ago in Madisonville, A Trooper found me standing on the square, freezing in the snow. My brother had feel asleep and forgot to pick me up. He let me ait in his car to warm up. Called my mom and made sure I was safe. When I think about him, a smile crosses my face. Any other law enforcement officer probably would have passed me up or not allowed me to sit in the heat.

No, they will accept military experience or 60 credit hours of college. A BS increase your chances of being selected.

Evidentially, it's more important that police officers go home safely to their families instead of saving the children. The parents could've done a better job saving kids compared to the coward cops afraid to go inside and do their job. Sad excuse for a profession that claims to "protect and serve."
