  • Of Mice & Men's song "You're Not Alone" comes from their album 'Restoring Force'. Buy/stream at ofmiceandmen.l...
    When your reflection in the mirror,
    smiles back, it lies, you know it.
    When you lay your head to sleep at night,
    it's filled with every moment,
    Every chance you missed to be something,
    or learn from your mistakes,
    You're not alone.
    You're with me.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    there's always hope for the willing.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    It's not over, you're not alone anymore.
    When it feels like all is lost,
    & there's no guide that's left to prove it,
    Take a look inside,
    cherish your life & live before you lose it.
    You're all waiting for the answers,
    keep on searching, strength in numbers.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    there's always hope for the willing.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    It's not over, you're not alone anymore.
    At the end of the day,
    what will you choose?
    Will you keep moving on,
    or be forced to lose?
    Look inside of yourself,
    cause the power's in you,
    there is always hope,
    you're not alone anymore.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    there's always hope for the willing.
    Don't let the world bring you down,
    It's not over, you're not alone anymore.
    It's not over, we're not alone anymore.

      When I was 13, I caught up with my mate at school, and I noticed he had earphones in, so me being the cheeky kid I was, I pulled one of his earphones out and put it in my ear "Whatcha listening to?" He was listening to Motionless In White. I said so many horrible things like "What the fuck that could make your ears bleed." And "how the fuck can you listen to music like that?!" 4 years later and I can't listen to anything but Motionless in white and Of mice and men 😂 so yeahh I know the feels

      I wasn't like that but I didn't hear music this heavy until around my teens.
      What I CAN'T do is listen to this with my headphones on high volume but that's cause I can't listen to anything on these with it higher than one.

      I like the song but it doesn't sound anything like OM&M. This is a very generic sounding song, and the lyrics are generic too. The thing that I like about OM&M is that they have a sound that no other band has. When they come through your speakers, you KNOW that it's OM&M. And their lyrics have never been generic or mainstream. But this doesn't sound like them to me and the lyrics are nothing new. That's why I'M disappointed.

      It's just in relation to their old music. It used to have a lot more meaning with their heavier break downs and Austin's screams were outstanding, now they're just like every other typical post hardcore bands unclean vocals. Don't get me wrong, I kind of enjoy it, but I enjoy their older music a lot better.

    Every member of OF&M are professional musicians. They wouldn't write crap music and expect people to buy it. Every experienced band that recognizes that in order to obtain a successful career in music, change is necessary. Not so drastic that it makes them unfamiliar with what their fans are used to, just a more mature, yet enjoyable sound to it. Look at All That Remains, they did an amazing job transitioning to their old style of music to what they play now.

    You guys should stop complaining. The guitars sound awesome, Austin's voice perfect as ever. Not Tino's best work but it is still really sick. And about Aaron's voice, damn it, of course he isn't shay but he still have really cool vocals and they fit perfectly this song. They are changing and we can't say if that's good or bad yet because this is only the first song of the album. For some reason the first song released is the most generic one just so people who are not into this type of music can listen to it too. Guys, keep the good job going, your fans are still here!

      haha, that's all it'll take, an opinion to butthurt someone. when it is face to face, no one will bother anyone, but on the internet, it's too personal and dramatic. hey, where are the good old days when you just go to football games and start a riot/fight for no reason? instead, just get high and be naked. where's the good old days where you or someone get's their rear kicked, they just admit it in defeat and just e friends with the person you lost against because of respect. where's the good old days where 11 to 14 year olds act like their age, not 21 and being a slut for those older men. and now, this is just a random comment because I am BORED. nothing wrong with that XD

  • @businesscatlimbo
    @businesscatlimbo 10 років тому +33

    Okay so, all the ignorant hate comments are annoying. I've heard so many "fans" bashing their new album. It's senseless. We're lucky they even decided to make a new album. What if they didn't find Aaron after Shayley's departure? That would mean no more Of Mice & Men period. Austin decided to take a heavier approach to this album and I love it. So what if it doesn't sound like past albums. Bands change, get over it. And as far as people saying they copied "insert bands name" sound, then you're very ignorant. It's not the band, it's the producer. And the guy that produced this album just happened to be the one that produced albums by Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Papa Roach and so on. If you don't like this new album, cool. Take your negative shit somewhere else. Fans come and go, but it's rare to see a fan that sticks with a band from the beginning, especially if they change their sound. That's one thing that's wrong with fans these days. But oh well, I'm done with my rant and trying to explain it to people.

      @Adovock 10 років тому +1

      "Austin decided to take a heavier approach to this album..." Wrong. They took a much softer approach, specifically in the guitar sounds. Nobody cares that Aaron is the new singer. Nobody is saying they copied another band's sound.
      People aren't upset that they've changed their sound. It's that they used to be so heavy and proud. Now they're weak and sound like they're going for the mainstream listeners. There is nothing unique on this album. Nothing original or risky or creative. It's a very, very generic album.

    • @businesscatlimbo
      @businesscatlimbo 10 років тому +5

      Actually, Austin admitted to making the album heavier. A lot of people are blaming Aaron for being the reason they're sounding genereic. A lot of people are saying they copied another band's sound. And it's not generic if you've listened to the entire album. There are songs that aren't "mainstream". Just because one sounds mainstream to you doesn't mean the entire album will.

    • @crazytothemax
      @crazytothemax 10 років тому

      While austin may have tried to make the album heavier, he failed. The Flood was a lot heavier and they actually did try to make this album softer, hence the name, "Restoring Force"

    For those of you freaking out on us who don't like the song and telling us that every band changes: yes, we know that and we encourage that! Coming into this song I was expecting a different sound, but not a worse sound. I remember in 2009 when I first heard OM&M they were so much different sounding than any other band I had ever heard and had so much to bring to the table. If I didn't know what Austin sounded like when he screamed and I was blindfolded so I couldn't see the name of the band, I wouldn't be able to tell who it was because it sounds so much like everything else that is out there. I am all for change and progression and I was really rooting for OM&M to bring something refreshing to the genre but this is far from that.

      It's been a long time since it hasn't mostly just been fangirls. I used to love this band more than anything. Now it seems they're just trying to fulfill people's insecurities to make money. Not sure if it's that or if it's just me growing up and finding new music. And just to back up my argument i can gurantee people will bitch at me for this comment, which shows that the fanbase is majorly built up of teen fangirls.

    The thing about metal core bands such as OM&M, BMTH, Slipknot and such is that when your my age (I'm 11 no joke) is that everybody calls it satanic, evil, stupid, and 'too loud'. Nobody at my age really gives this genre of music a chance. Like really? I've been listening to Slipknot since I was in the womb (I thank my mother for being a fan ahead of time). It just makes me upset when people immediately put down such a good genre without even trying it out

      Joseph Emanuele I don't know about the rest of you but Of Mice & Men's other stuff was way more unique in my opinion. That's why I loved it so much cause Shayley's voices was epic, Austins screams weren't the best but pretty dam good and different, and the bass/guitar/drums sounded a hell of a lot better. This (aside from Austin) sounds like every mediocre rock band you hear on the radio.
