This is the video that gave me the courage to take my Tombows out for a spin. I've never been strong in colour study so I keep to safer, more muted colours. This is not exactly a video 'for' beginners because it goes very quickly. Also, snapping my fingers didn't work to colour in the cabin and I was unable to figure out the colour combination. On the other hand, because it went so quickly, I felt somehow freer. While JCardenasart's finished work looks like an impressionistic masterpiece and mine absolutely does not, I had a lot of fun and my sketchbook finally has some bright colours! Thank you and please keep making these tutorials.
This is so nice of you to say, thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I appreciate the kind words and I'm happy to hear that you tried those tombows again and experimented with different colors! I have more tombow videos in the work ! I'll try and slow some of those down for the beginners . I Want to make sure everyone gets as much info as possible from them. Thanks again!
@@BekumsWoo yes of course, in this video specifically I used a moleskine watercolor sketchbook . But I do also recommend other brand watercolor paper like canson or Strathmore, and i also recommend Bristol paper .
@@JCARDENASART Thanks for your advice. For water brush Tombows, do you find that either cold or hot press is preferable (I'm thinking of possible damage to the brush tip)? Sorry to pester you!
@@BekumsWoo if you're using it with water to get the water color effect, I recommend the cold pressed, only because it gives you the old traditional look of a water color artwork. You don't have to go too heavy. Atleast 140lb, anything less i wouldn't use . I would also say to try hot pressed as well, just to get a feel for both and you can pick based on your taste. And yes, over time, if you go with cold pressed, because of the textured paper, the tips of the brush will split or bend. Its a risk us artists have to make sometimes to create a masterpiece ! 😅
@@JCARDENASART here's a video suggestion. A comparison between tombow dual brush pens and zebra mildliners brush pens. And a side by side comparison with the artwork as well

The result looks like children paintings , specially the lake resembles anything but water . I think you should use a blender marker and a photo as model
@@JCARDENASART it looked a lot like the oil pastel paintings im trying to emulate es pecially the use of colots, its so pretty! 💖 Even though theyre water based, do they give off a scent?
