Condolences to you and your husband on the loss of his mother. So glad you are back sharing stitching and adventures of your travels. The Spring piece is so beautiful, I have enjoyed watching it evolve. I'm stitching a small bird motif to add to one of my goddess pieces. Well the quilt/gun shop sounds quite unusual, I imagine your reaction was much the same as mine when I first laid eyes on a copy of Garden and Gun magazine. The strangest place I ever walked into is what I thought was a little thrift shop, the building was small when you walked in but once inside there was a door that opened into room after room after room of stuff; right when you think you are done looking a door opens onto 3 more buildings of thrifty goodness. The shop closed over 10 years ago. All the quilt shops have closed in my area as well in the 30 years I have lived in Florida I have seen too many of them close, new ones open only to close the doors a few years later. The same has happened to the yarn shops. Luckily we have a Joann's and Michaels across town. One constant has been a needlework shop that sells mostly floss and cross stitch patterns and fabric and they have the free Country Register paper which I love and learned you can read the issues on line free. When I need a quilt shop fix I will take out the paper and plan a road trip. Have a wonderful birthday.
Thanks Deb. That building sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing that. I’m sad for the closings of quilt shops and yarn shops and the small businesses that can’t keep thriving. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
So sorry for the loss of you MIL. We leave for NY wine country tomorrow in our small (27ft) class A RV. I had to smile about your travel weather. We always say it's not an RV trip without either rain or snow on the way to/from the campground. I hope you have a nice birthday shopping trip. Looks like you have a lot of new projects you will be working on. Your ribbon flowers always turn out so nice. A great addition to this spring project. The strangest place I remember going to is a little hole in the wall restaurant in Jersey Shore, NJ. They had fly paper strips hanging over the tables and my hubby said that the bathroom had personal items (like a comb and razor) in it like people were living there. I still can't believe we actually ate breakfast there. LOL I'm working or upcycling denim jackets by stitching lace on them. I got the idea when you were making your upcycled jacket a while back.
Oooo- Paula! What class A do you have? We’ve been talking about upsizing and going for longer periods of time. The van is so tiny. It’s cozy till it’s claustrophobic lol. Do you tow a car with you so you can go explore? That restaurant sounds suspicious! Glad you didn’t get ill. Sometimes those dives have the best food tho! How fun that you’re upgrading your denim jacket! Lace is always fun. I know Corrine did hers in lace as well. Safe travels. Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it.
You are welcome, dear friend 🧡. Happy birthday tomorrow. Wishing you a great day 🎉❤. The ribbon flower is sweet. Nice score at Michael's. Sorry for your loss, but glad parts of it were good, and you are home safe. Still watching ❤
Love the bright colors on this Martha. All My faves 😊 We are in Autumn of course so it’s wonderful to see spring colors and to think about spring (my favorite season). Condolences to you and your husband for your mother in laws passing.
So sorry to hear of your mother in law's passing, but glad you were both able to make in time to see her. My condolences to you both. This piece has got brighter and more joyful as it's progressed. I was thinking about you earlier today as I was watching a video by Nichole Vogelsinger, her pieces are bright and colourful with lots of beads and sequins, right up your street. 😃I'm a May girl too, but a Gemini, and I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday tomorrow 🎉🎁hope you have a lovely day. 🤗♥
I'm so sorry to hear about your MiL Martha, but I'm glad you were able to have some time with her and that you're now back safe and sound in your happy place. this piece is SO pretty, really fresh and spring-like, I love it. Happy birthday for tomorrow, have a lovely day and I hope you find some lovely treats when yu go shopping xo
Such a pretty piece. Weirdest shop was in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming, a fireworks store. Huge. They had a makeshift coffee shop in it. It was a potty stop.
So sorry to hear about Tony’s mum big hugs to you both xx. I’ve just finished changing my craft room into my son’s toy room and he’s got my old craft room for a gaming room. What a huge job I had to label every box draw cupboard door so I knew what was is there but I love my new craft room. Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY xx
Thank you for the condolences and the birthday wishes. It sounds like you had a huge task changing the rooms around. Good job getting it all done and organized.
Martha hi. I’m Nancy. I’ve been watching you for a few months now. I love purple to 💜. That’s actually what caught my eye when scrolling you were making something very purple. I just can’t remember at the moment….something very dark purple. I’ve a few things I would like to mention. One is about some of these ribbon roses like you make. Can you give me the proper name for them or do a tutorial for making one. I’m just a beginner. Second you mentioned a camper van. I have a dream of van life for traveling…I’ve got a 1984 gmc Ventura we are going to convert. She’s old but I love it. And will you share a photo of Blue?
Hi Nancy, thanks so much for joining me. I am thinking you’re in the US, what state? Maybe I’ll do a live so I can answer questions. Would you like that? When would you be able to watch? I can do a demo. I know I’ve explained the roses before. They’re called several different names - ribbon roses, wagon wheel roses, and something else.
I’d be happy to share a photo of Blue at some point in the future. Maybe during the live if I do one. If not, in an upcoming video. Remodeling a van - fun and lots of work. We have a Winnebago Travato from 2018. We like it but it’s tight to be in for long periods of time. We aren’t hikers or explorers really. I’m very much an indoor girl unless the weather is 70°, no humidity and sunshine. 🌞 lol.

@marthamanigross sure that would be great. I'm in Illinois. Just let me know when and I will be sure to tune in 😊
Hancocks of Paducah?
Bingo!!! That’s it! 😃❤️
