    Yeah I have a family heirloom, passed down from my grandpa. It's a one of a kind antique prototype functioning rifle.
    I was wondering if I could sell it for trash so I can regret it in several years.

    This rifle is just freaking cool. Did you see how fast it could be loaded and fired?! That's insane.
    It could probably make 5 to 6 shots per minute easily. This was definitely an heirloom item.

    I can't imagine selling something like that, that was passed down to me, I have a model 94 Winchester my grandfather passed down to me, very well used most of the bluing gone made in 1951 and still shoots like new.
    It's my first 30-30 and I will never sell it for any price, some day my son will have it and hopefully my grandson after that.

      TugIronChief truth. I own some very old blades (including two that are legitimate museum quality), and when it’s my time to go to the Great Beyond I seriously think I might donate those two to a museum. Better than leaving the whole collection - especially those two - to someone who may pawn it for change and a smile!!!!

He most likely has to auction this and pay a 20-30% fee. And he pays taxes on all his profits. And he pays employees, insurance, Social Security taxes, and all other business expenses.

    My dad had a .22 air rifle that wasn't a break barrel, it had a cocking arm under the stock. It had a latch on top for the pellet to drop in, the click it back and it locked the slug into the breech.

      It was hard enough to make a muzzle loader back then. This piece is special made by hand and would be impossible to mass produce for several decades. If it was easy they would have Ak47 in 1460.

      Yeah, it baffles me. If I were to randomly find this in the middle of the woods I might sell it, but if it's been passed down for generations even if it's worth 100k I wouldn't sell it.

    I've been offered 5 grand for my dads US Armory model 1903 30-06 sniper rifle he left me. It was actually made in 1931. It still sits above my fireplace and will be handed down to my daughter. Her husband is an Army Ranger and loves it.

    Gambling can be the most expensive addiction , working in corrections I once met an inmate that was a professional thief to finance his gambling, he told the story of once walking into a casino, lightning a cigarette and losing 80k before the cigarette was done, as he said “couldn’t be done with a drug addiction “
