Santa Muerte is the second deck I got and it's doing wonderful things for me!! I'm currently using it for an October challenge and I couldn't be happier with it
Here comes a really long comment, I hope you don't mind! Black and white decks are great for this season, indeed. Some of my favs are the Spirit Speak Tarot, the Heart and Hands Tarot and the Fox Tarot. Then there's the Light Visions Tarot which is duochrome, and the Azathoth Tarot which on top of being duochrome is also extremely creepy and overall amazing. The Tarot Restless is also a great deck but the imagery can be disturbing - it's a great storyteller but definitely not for everyone. I've been working with the Darkness of Light a lot too. And the Halloween Oracle is a treat! The Tarot of Unknown Shadows really intrigued me, I'll look into it. I loved hearing about your deck selection, thanks for sharing it!

I mostly have light-dark decks, Shadowland, Halloween. My dark-dark decks are along the lines of Tarot of the Dead, Wild Unknown, Vargas Gothic, Wildwood.

Such a lovely collection of spooky decks! I've been wanting the Halloween Oracle for months and I finally got it. I've been using The Halloween Oracle this month and I'm surprised how much of a connection I've gotten. My expectations were low because of the lackluster guidebook. I hope you enjoy it! I haven't worked with the Santa Muerte that much but I'm excited to work with it. Thanks for the video!

Oh I want the Zombie tarot...i've been vascillating with that one but I think I'm ready. I pulled out the Deviant Moon, Tarot of the Vampyres, Everyday witch, Les Vampires by Lucy Cavendish. ...even though we are in Spring now in the southern hemisphere...still want those spooky, autumn vibes. Great collection.

"I'm real prepared today, as you can tell" -- that made me laugh hahaha I totally get it when I film too but I'm trying my best to let the perfectionist streak go; don't want to refilm just for forgetting a few things. Out of the decks you've shown, the Darkness of Light Tarot still makes me feel those tingles. I really like Santa Muerte, but I don't like the "3D" look of that deck sadly. As mentioned before on a different video, I'm fairly new to tarot, and I'm interested in learning more about how others approach or perceive it. For me, there HAS to be a connection with the deck. More so than just liking the art or a few of the images. For example, the Fantastical Creatures Tarot. I love mythology, so it's right up my alley. The Arthurian Tarot is another. And since this is October, the Halloween Tarot. I guess what I'm asking is do you ever get decks that don't resonate with you and why?
Yes I do find decks that don't resonate with me, I have a whole box of them set aside to re-home. I can usually tell pretty well from watching walk-throughs and checking out pictures if a deck is in my wheelhouse, but occasionally I order decks that I think I will love and then when I get it in my hands, we just don't connect. Although the more decks I work with the better I am at knowing what will resonate with me. Hope that helps!
I think the black verison is out of print, but as tamipie suggested you might check out some online stores. You could also contact the creator, some times they have some scratch-and-dent type of older editions. 🙂Thank you for watching! ❤️
Probably because it's out of print. The prices on Amazon and ebay can be crazy for out-of-print decks, they jack them up. Don't know if anyone every buys them at that price or it's just wishful thinking on the sellers end lol.
I am so glad you are enjoying the videos! Pairing decks is really an intuitive process. I usually start with two decks that are visually similar or that visually contrast each other (depending on my mood). From there it's a matter of kinda playing with them just to see how they "communicate" with each other. I usually just set them down face up and start flipping through the cards (like I often do in my monthly reflection videos) and see if they seem to get along. The Darkness of Light is sooo beautiful!....The Bohemian Gothic is just not for me, something about the way the figures sit in the scenery makes me laugh...I can't take it seriously...(I think what bugs me is that it is not meant to be funny but I find it funny...because otherwise I have humorous decks and I have no problem working with them). In general I don't think I am into creepy decks...I like some of them but I can't imagine me using them loads.Thank you for sharing :)
Its actually supposed to be a fun humorous deck I think. New companion book for Bohemian Gothic has the pictures and stories behind the artwork. Actual pictures of gargoyles and models used are interesting.
