@johncena-cd9kr The Christian's bibles are just very badly mistranslated and corrupted versions of the Torah/Tanach, The Real Word of G_d, with a whole lot changed including names, a whole lot added, and a whole lot taken out. Everything that G_d said not to, Christianity did! No Hebrew/Jew was ever named Jesus, nor John, nor especially James! There is no letter J in the Hebrew alephbet nor does any of the Hebrew letters even make a J sound.
Try actually reading the scriptures where G_d gave the Torah and the Commandments to Mosche and the Children/Nation of Israel on Mt. Sinai. The One True Creator G_d specifically told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to Never veer to the right nor left of the Torah/Tanach! Never!!! Do you understand what that means???
The One True Creator G_d also specifically told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to Never accept anybody else's religion! Never!!! Do you understand what that means???
The One True Creator G_d also specifically warned NOT to add to, nor subtract from the Torah/Tanach, but Christianity did it anyway.
We follow the instructions of the One True Creator, not the lies of Christianity.

Rabbi Singer, thank you for your insights over the years, I self-created a quandary that have yet to resolve.
When encountering communication that isn't clear I often reply with "can you be more vague and less specific".
To obviously point out that they have not made a point with clarity.
I used it in a comment section elsewhere and another embraced it, I pondered its qualifications as a Jewish rebuttal to a fool and came up with:
Proverbs 26:4-5 (CSB) 4 Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishness or you’ll be like him yourself. 5 Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.
Does my reply qualify as foolish or wise?
Happy 5785 and thank you Rabbi Singer

I really appreciated your humour in the presentation. It was refreshing. I was a convert to the fundamentalist/evangelical arm of Protestantism many years ago. What helped me to remove myself from this mindset was to actually read the Bible, many times over, and memorize long passages of it. I found out few Christians do this. I began to ask questions and there was little appreciation from the church leaders, and that enabled me to leave the church. Thanks for this video. I am still chuckling inside as to how you used humour to bring home some very important point.

Acceptance of religion, or news, or stories without further inquiry, is called having faith. Another means of expressing such faith is close your eyes and only act as we tell you. That is both faith and religion. Wait for it. . . . . It is your soul that is in the balance. Your soul like its' source, is beyond this life and this world. If this is true, then just having faith is to risk much.
This maybe beyond the common persons desire to know or learn. I only suggest the reading the Five books of Moses(The Written Torah), aka Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy. From start to finish, then again, and again. Read to understand:
    Who is GOD.
    What does HE want.
How are you to treat those near you,
How to treat those not near you.
Last, that you are responsible for everything you choose to do.

Paul was wrong claiming that Death came into the world due to the disobedience of one man. The presence of the Tree of Life in the midst of the Garden would indicate that Death was already in the Order of Things, its fruit intended to serve as antidote.
The adam and his woman had already been punished for their disobedience, and the serpent for its involvement, when the "us" like onto whom the human couple had become, knowing Good and Evil, moved to deny them access to the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:22) - ensuring their eventual death.

Admittedly, Christian translations of the Tanakh are rendered already according to millennia old non-Jewish understanding in light of the Oral Torah. Also the Christian "New Testament." Most, nearly all, of those Christians who read all of their Bible may not correctly understand what they read in the Tanakh, but they do read more than isolated passages, understandingly or not.

Unknown numbers of women, men, and children (mostly women, though) were burned or drowned for being witches, when they were nothing of the kind. Estimates run from 200K - 500K, but nobody really knows.
As recently as the 1930s and 1940s, millions of Jewish people (including babies and children) were unalived by Xtians with the names of AH, Mengele, Goebbels, Himmler, et al.--all of whom were Xtians. In fact, AH could not have been elected, nor would he have been able to carry out his plans without the active participation of Xtians.
Here in the US, if Xtian women stopped choosing to ab*rt their children because their children were conceived prior to marriage or through an affair, the elective ab*rtion industry would go bankrupt. Xtian women represent 70% of American women. They ab*rt, in large part, because of the condemnation that they and their children would receive from other Xtians.

There are some descriptions in the early part of the Old Testament that are the revelation of Prophet Moses(to whom be peace). There is certainly no message about any sin that would transfer genetically from Adam to the next coming generations as is usually described by some followers of Trinity. There had appeared thousands upon thousands of prophets in different parts of the earth but no one has ever told their followers that they were sinful by birth and their sins could be forgiven by the crucifiction Jesus. We should know that it is a holy tradition of God Almighty to use similes and metaphors also in His revelation to inform about some important messages. This description, in the early pages of the Bible, (about Adam and and Eva and their mistake to swallow the forbidden fruit in the pursuit of everlasting life and to devoid themselves of their paradise life as a punishment) has been mentioned metaphorically. This metaphorical description is about the mistake of the passed people with a warning message for next coming people to avoid it.
In the very beginning chapters of the Old Testament we have descriptions about two kinds of evolutions. One description is about the evolution of all that was created on earth and the second one description is about the evolution of human civilization on earth that always has a circle of seven thousand years. We find in our religious books that the name of ''Adam '' is given two different characters. The very first life that came into existence on earth, millions years ago without a father and mother. This very first life is given the name of Adam: ''Surely, the case of Jesus with God Almighty is like the case of Adam. He (God Almighty) created him out of dust, then He said to him, ‘Be!,’and he was.” (Quran 3:60) This verse of the Quran explains about this very first life (the Adam of our earth ) who had to pass through a long gradual process to reach its final stage to become a living creature.
The second person who is called Adam in religious books is the person who is the first prophet who was the vicegerent of God on earth. This person had received the first revelation among his people, about six thousands years ago from our time and had laid the foundation of our present civilization after having divine guidance from God Almighty. According to the descriptions of religious books, God Almighty has created the world in seven days and a day in the estimation of God is equivalent to 1000 years of human beings: '' Verily a day with thy lord is a thousand years of yours reckoning“ (Quran 22: 48) Muslims Christian and Jews scholars are agreed that county from the time of our Adam (of present generation) to the present millennium is the starting time of 7th millennium.
This gradual process of human progress of his rationality and worldly civilization, from the time of Prophet Adam to our time, in six thousand years, is near to its superbness. We are in the beginning of the seventh millennium on earth and there is a big change in all fields of life. This progress is turning the earth into a worldly paradise step by step and Genetics and Genomics have an increasing impact on our everyday life from medical genetics to agricultural genetics. This rapid genetic progress is creating a revolution on earth. There will be heaps of food without a hard toil of man and many sources to cure different diseases and the birth of a child without labor pain would be also possible. There will be no conflict and no war as all people have all on earth. They will live freely and enjoy this earthly Paradise. They will start to live together and will become one as they were at the time of Prophet Adam. But they had to resist to touch one field and that is the tree of humans' race to change its traits.
The negative effect of this knowledge would be that some will try to use it to change God's creature, specially, human race (the word tree is used by God Almighty for human generation in his scriptures) and it is forbidden by Him to touch this tree. As it is warned by God Almighty in His revelation that this interference and change in humans' race would not be forgiven. All previous generations who passed through previous seven milleniums' circle on earth, (before the Adam of our current generation,) they after their progress, tried to change human race to make their physical lives eternal and persistent on earth and as a result received punishment from God Almighty in a way that they themselves destroyed their progress and lost their paradise on earth by their own hands.
Whenever in the previous era people touched this tree of ''humans ' race'' they had to face fatal consequences and this earthly paradise had been destroyed by their own hands and they had to start their progress again from zero. As the Bible inform about the signs of this zero point in following words: ''To the woman he said, ‘I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children..To Adam he said, ‘Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’ ‘Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.(Genesis3:16-17)
The people of 7th millennium would have this paradises' blessings soon on earth but they must be very careful and should avoid the tree of humans ' race to change it in the pursuit of everlasting lives on this earth. Their touch to this forbidden tree will bring such a destruction that will deprive them of this pearadise and this destruction will certainly affect their next generations and they have to start their journey of progress again from zero.

If you actually read the gospels, he never once asked anyone to worship him and only asked for people to follow him and to live like he lived.
The trinity as a doctrine came to be hundreds of years after Christ died.
I actually struggle with my own faith as a 'christian' because I tend to think more like a jew, that God is fully one, and that there is no original sin, and that we didn't need a savior. Also in reading the scripture it doesn't really seem like Christ thought people needed a savior either. It seems like he thought people were capable of repenting and following the commandments by virtue of being human.
There are many ways to interpret the death and resurrection of Jesus and I'm not a big fan of the atonement idea. I can think of other reasons.

20:55 at this point you said God doesn’t want sacrifices… and I would agree but the methodology is required according to the law of Moses …. Moses was imitating what God had shown him in the tabernacle in Heaven … so that the people would understand when the real thing would come….
    Jeremiah understood it also…
Jeremiah 31:31-33 (NIV) 31 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
The reason a sacrifice is needed and mandated is because it’s according to the law which is the covenant made between God and Israel…. The second covenant is between God and Israel by way of extension also to the world as to the Jew first then the gentiles.

Paul does not have the later concept of original sin.
When Pat Robinson said that Jews that are righteous do not go to hell, he was not giving a hypocritical answer. Pat Robinson thought that it was possible to be just, but very unlikely. Some Jewish people believe there are 36 and 18 righteous in the world. These are believed to be righteous on the basis of the word that they know. There were at least five named people in the Christian writing that are called righteous or just: Zacharias and Elizabeth, Joseph husband of Mary, Lazarus, and Joseph of Aramithia. Jesus may also referenced other righteous who were unnamed but had not need of repentance.
The point being if you are not a righteous, defined in Scripture as one whose thoughts are only good (which is not the same thing as sinlessness, because one can have only good thoughts that do not work out well, or may still sin ignorantly). For most of us, we do not have to worry about only sinning through ignorance or misplaced belief. We have sinned deliberately and willfully. We are not guilty of misdemeanors but felonies. We are in a position like David more than Daniel. Job seems very far off. Noah was the only relative righteous man in the earth. When I think of some of my friends, my life seems scuzzy and narcissistic.
Rather than get all Aristotelian and sylogistic about interpretation of Paul, let us just look at the vast majority of people Paul was addressing, and say they had a snowballs chance in hell of qualifying as one of the righteous of the earth.
I once was privileged to here David Wilkerson preach. At one point he said you tell me that there are good nature programs on PBS. Then he screamed, you don't watch nature programs, you watch trash! Does that mean that not one person out of a thousand people only watched the most educational and unsullied of television shows. It is probable that one out of a thousand did so. It is also probable that most of the congregation that David Wilkerson was taking to did watch trash, including those that commended nature programs. There is hypocrisy in most of us. A Sunday School song I learned as a child was, the devil wears a hypocrite show and if you don't watch out he'll slip it on you. It is a full time job keeping ourselves pure because most of us have a tendency to relapse into a sort of muscle memory of committing sin, even if we were saved young..There would be no reason to tell us to mortify the deeds of the flesh, if the flesh did not need mortifying.

Dear Rabbi, I have been following your videos for a while. As far as I can see from your videos, you are an intelligent, knowledgeable and most importantly moral person. I have a question for you. I am very curious about your answer. You believe that you can go to heaven through Judaism. So, do you think there is a religion or religions other than Judaism that will lead to heaven? If your answer to this question is no, isn't this attributing injustice to the Almighty Creator. Because, Judaism is an ethnic religion and it is almost impossible to be born a Jew and become a Jew later. The Almighty Creator is just and does not wrong anyone. He is free from injustice. If your answer to this question is yes, which religions are these? This religion or religions may be a path shown by the Almighty Creator's prophet and the revelation he sent down. There is probably no religion other than Islam that fits this description. Because, as you know, all other religions are man-made religions. Judaism, on the other hand, is a religion that is not man-made but was changed by man later. If you accept Islam as the way to heaven apart from Judaism, the Almighty Creator says in the book of this religion (3-19): "Without doubt, the only true religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. " In another one of the verses (5-3): "Today I have perfected your religion for you, and perfected My favor upon you, and have approved for you Islam as a religion." These verses and the whole Quran also show that the only way to heaven is Islam. Islam did not come only to Arabs. It came to all people. The Prophet Muhammad also invited the Jews to Islam, and many Jews became Muslims. My last question to you, my dear Rabbi, is this: If Islam is the only way to heaven, then why do you insist on Judaism? Isn't the most important thing the salvation of you and your family in eternal life? I await your answers and invite you to the only true path of our Almighty Creator.

'Original sin' as a doctrine was formalized by scholars in the third century CE.
Paul the Apostle, however, linked sin and death based on the first chapters of Genesis. "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sin...death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam...as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners..." (Letter to the Romans chapter 5).
This is the concept of the proclivity to sin inherited from Adam. It does not mean that people are incapable of resisting the temptation to sin, and so all are ultimately responsible for their own actions.

To answer the marquee question, no, Paul did not concoct the doctrine of Original Sin (OSD)....it was a concept already formed from Greek Gnosticism, long before Paul.
Predating Paul, the Paulinist genesis of OSD was introduced by Simon Magus in the Clementine Literature. In the Clementines, Simon Magus engages with and loses to the Nazarene Jewish Apostle Peter in an epic debate on the very subject.
If Simon Magus can be considered the father of Gnosticism, from which the Christian doctrine of Original Sin originated, then Paul can be considered as being the father of Christian Gnosticism, because he developed the concept even further. Paul mixed; Judaism, Gnosticism, Docetism, and the Mystery Religions (of Asia Minor), to form Pauline Christianity. Paul developed Christian OSD and other doctrines (the virgin birth, the trinity) to keep the Hellenist Gentiles of Asia Minor, (who were already aware of principles of Gnosticism, Docetism, and the Mystery Religions)….from proselyting to Nazarene Judaism (Jesus and the 12). It is really a devious subversion.
The Nazarenes/Ebionites (Jesus, the 12, and followers) were Jews who did not believe nor teach the doctrine of original sin….as an inherent gene.

Was it that there were Nazarenes and Ebionites? Is that funny? Or, perhaps they were sects of Judaism? Is that funny? Or is it that the Jewish Nazarenes and Ebionites did not teach original sin (which is a gnostic invention)? Is that funny?
The problem you might have is (imho, and I'm assuming by the moniker you are a Jew), that you've been taught the Rabbinic belief that Paul is a follower of Jesus and part of the Nazarene sect. That is not true, Paul was sent by Satan to subvert the teachings of the Nazarene Jews, to keep Gentiles from Joining Judaism. The Jews (yes, including the Nazarenes) did not teach inherent sin. @@samfromisrael You said: (Jesus, the 12, and followers)
CAESAR'S MESSIAH you meant to say..... Nice Try Though....won't work, sorry."
My reply; Nope....He's your Messiah too, you just don't know it yet. But, that really doesn't matter. Let's get into it...
Put the Messiah term on the back burner for a second, as it is less relevent to his first coming.
In short, Jesus at his first coming came in two roles. In his primary role, he came as the "expected" Prophet (like unto Moses, the 2nd Moses), and in the secondary (lesser) role, he came as the Messiah b. Joseph (the suffering servant).
To usher in the future Messianic Kingdom age, He will return, but this time the role priority will be reversed. He will return in the primary role, as the Messiah b. David (the conquering king, ruling under God)...and in the secondary role, he will still be the Prophet like unto Moses (who teaches Torah to the nations).
But before I leave this off for now, here is the Nazarene Apostle Peter's teaching on Jesus and Moses...and why the 12....and then the 70 followers. Jesus (the 2nd Moses) patterned his Apostles and followers after the manner of Moses.
Clementine Recognitions Book 1: Chapter 40: The Advent of the True Prophet
Peter continued; “These things having been foretold, the True Prophet who was expected, came bringing signs and miracles as His credentials by which his appearing should be made obvious. But even with these signs and miracles, not everyone believed, even though they had been trained since the days of Moses to recognize and believe these things when they would occur1. Not only did they not believe, but they added blasphemy to their unbelief, saying that He who had come for their salvation, was a gluttonous man and a belly slave and that He was actuated by a demon. To such an extent does wickedness prevail by the “agency of evil ones” 2 that but for the Wisdom of God assisting those who love the truth, almost all would have been involved in the unrighteous delusion. Because of that, He chose us Twelve, the first who believed in Him, whom He named Apostles, and afterward, seventy-two others who were the most approved disciples, that, at least in this way recognizing the pattern of Moses3, the multitude might believe that this is He of whom Moses had foretold, that is the True Prophet had come.”
Not sure if you'll find that funny, but who knows....reply if you like, hopefully with a coherent point.

Thank you Rabbi for your teachings. I would like to know if me as a gentile am able to go to God directly?
I know for sure all Jews are told directly by God to go to Him directly. Abraham is the father of the Jewish nation. Are there any scriptures for me that God promises directly to the gentiles the forgiveness of sin and he wants us to go directly to him too?
I know in the “new testament “ there are
many promises for the gentiles but they all are attached to idolatry. I grew up in a Protestant household and even as a child I used to question the new testament and all the teachings it has which I never have fully accepted, so I feel at times left out. I was told by relatives that I hated God for asking questions so I would shut down.
Since I don’t have any merits it seemed much easier to ask in the merit of Jesus
or the way they taught us to pray in his name, since he was so good and obeyed ALL of God’s law he is worthy to ask in his merits, but that started to feel like idolatry. Will my prayers be heard if I pray in Jesus’s merit?

Paul no more concocted the original sin "theory" as you call it, then Moses concocted the Torah.
Adam sinned, did he not? That makes Adam the original sinner.
Adam passed the weakness for sinning down to his descendants on his DNA, not to mention his example because Adams children were made in his image, not God's, according to Genesis.
So, even if we don't send on our own our entire life, we still have that deformity on our DNA which we inherited from Adam.
Since we all die, whether we sin on our own or not, and we didn't eat of the forbidden fruit, that means we've inherited that ding on our DNA which results in death. We need a savior. God provided one.

First, I would like to say that this was absolutely delicious spiritual food!
I, as one of the little dogs lapping at the crumbs under the Master's table, very much enjoyed licking the plate! I hope to go back for more!
Second, I noted that it was admitted that these statements are rabbinical opinion and not authoritative. I was forced to depend solely on the commentary since I cannot read Hebrew, and not all of the scripture was translated into English, the only language I can speak with any degree of fluency.
I compared Genesis 49:10 in my Jewish Bible by David H. Stern with my King James version. They seem to be in agreement with only one small discrepancy. Stern translates legs, while King James translates feet. 'Legs' seems to imply descendancy (born/sired between the legs), while 'feet' implies submission.
The context shows that God rejected as ruler, the firstborn, Reuben, for violating his father Israel's bed by sleeping with one of his concubines. Therefore, Reuben lost the right of firstborn.
God rejected both Simon and Levi for their bloody violence.
God accepted Judah saying that "the scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet/legs, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be".
The context proves that Moses cannot possibly be the ruler that it is talking about here because Moses was not of the tribe of Judah, but was of the violent tribe of Levi.
But that wasn't the dispute. The dispute was that Moses is the final Redeemer. Now, unless we can agree that the Messiah is the Redeemer, and that the Redeemer cannot come from the tribe of Levi, we can not agree on this issue.
Further, Moses was rejected from entering into the promised land due to his striking The Rock, rather than touching The Rock to bring forth water for the Hebrews.
Shemo rabbah 2:4 pointed out that it was not the actual Hebrews taken out of Egypt who were brought into the promised land, but their offspring, since the adults were forced to wander in the wilderness for 40 years.
God purged the wickedness from that population and favored the youth who had been raised up in the wilderness under God's law of the Tabernacle.
Moses was also purged from that group, since he was also not permitted to enter into the promised land. Why?
Devarim rabbah 9:9 goes on to point out that God explained to Moses why he had to die.
It gives the example of a pregnant woman who was incarcerated, and whose male child was born and raised in captivity, although he had broken no law. When this child inquires of the King, the reason, he's told: because of the sin of your mother.
Moses is told his death was because of the sin of his father, Adam who brought Death into the world.
This is exactly what Christianity teaches in this regard. Death is inherited due to sin of our first father.
The Zohar talked more about whether Isaiah 53 is referring to Messiah. It admits that it can be referring to the Messiah.

Paul did not concoct the doctrine of original sin. According to Jewish tradition, the "yetzer hara" (evil inclination) originates from the moment Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden. Rashi (to 2:25) writes, “Even though [Adam] was endowed with wisdom [which was used] to give names [to the animals], the yetzer hara (evil disposition or inclination) did not enter him until he ate from the Tree, upon which the yetzer hara entered him… .”As a Jew I think we need to be intellectually honest about this and stop lying.
