Part of it is that the environment picked doesn't suit the AI of the Hunters. Their shots kept hitting the ground due to the ground's curving. Very unfair to the Hunters and a poor choice of maps.
Hunters never had an advantage. It takes 4 hunters to take on 1 mantis. Before Halo 4 Hunters used to be the baddest thing that walks, only a Wraith or Scorpian Tank could take them out, now here come the Mantis that eats wraiths and scorpians as a quick snack.
The easiest Hunter is arguably CE, with a quick charge lure, a dodge and magnum, you could take them out. I'll give CE some slack though as it came out in 2001.

The fact that there was an actual strategy to fighting them made it kinda fun to face of against them. Right? Holy hell, there was nothing left of the very last Hunter in the video. It was LITERALLY evaporated into oblivion by the sheer force of like 15 Miniguns shredding it's worms into paste!

hunters just had an extreme disadvantage, they can't fire over hills, have awful accuracy compared to mantis's, hunters melee can't match the mantis sparta kick, even when hunters get close, they fire between mantis legs, they would've got massacred if the mantis used their missles but even without them got demolished, hunters should stick to smaller scale enemies why just why ;_;
+Andrew Bultemaa plus the fact that not only more powerful as anti-troops (which is why hunters can damage vehicles better, and why hunters got demolished by the mantis's) but the mantis guns also fire much faster and reload quicker, would've been better if the hunters had the halo 2/3 guns imo

Dammit, these battles make me so mad. The Hunters would have won a lot more battles if the AI didn't make them shoot in between the legs. And, Gamecheat, when filming these if you see something troublesome like that hill that blocks the Hunter's bullets until the Mantises wipe them out, why don't you move the fight somewhere else?
+ElitexSquad Spartans can. All you have to do is put the ODST/Marine AI into the Spartan and have them with jetpacks.(I don't really know how to explain it. :/)

Why not, for the last battle, place them on opposite sides of the map, rather than right next to eachother on that little field? Sure, it might take them a little while to find one another, but it would be awesome as hell to see the battle march.
Most of the mantie deaths in the higher numbers were caused by friendly fire(stomping) but with superior numbers and sheer force it was an ovious win for the mantie
In logical terms of firepower, I think the Mantis should have been designed with either dual auto cannons or swap the missile pod for a gauss cannon. Seeing the Mantis with what realistically looks like a single use missile system would be wasteful of potential on a high mobility/profile platform.

They are coded to fire at 0,0,0 in the models origin point, that's why they shoot at the feet and not at the center of mass (I think)

New tactic for hunters - position a small slope between you and it and you'll be almost invincible.
