Aahhh i missed your videos your set up is way more organized than mine and i'm glad you introduced me to some tools that i had no idea about so thanks for that. As always enjoyed this video and love your vlogs. 💗💗💗
Love this idea of what an indie author has/needs--would love to see a whole series around that idea :) great videoooo! Also, I need a new keyboard...and here you are suggesting one lol it's a sign to buy!!!
I am an Arab author (from Egypt). I write novels and other creative things. I found your channel in the video about writing 30,000 words in four days, and I was very surprised by your ability to do it despite all the pressures and different situations I have been in. So I took a tour of the channel. Although the accessories seem cheap in dollars, in the currency I deal with and the market I am in, these good accessories are not available at good prices. So I think that maybe we should just think about writing. And remember that the two most important purposes for writing are you (the writer) and the tool you use to empty it (your computer). Luxuries are nice, but not having them is not that much of a problem, just find an alternative, or enjoy the journey with the things you have with you. I wish you would post challenges and continuous updates, seeing a writer who has the same magical and wintery rhythm in her novels makes me feel happy and inspired every time I go to write my novel. I wish you fruitful writings. Sorry if there are any mistakes. I am not a good English speaker.
Absolutely! That’s why I recommend getting a keyboard or mouse secondhand as well. All we need as writers is our creativity and the means to document it. Whether it be a journal and pen or a computer. No extra things necessary, this is just what my own setup looks like for anyone curious. I’ll be doing challenges again once I begin drafting book 3 in the Venture Series ☺️
@@TaylorAnnWright Waiting for the second book... I also hope you try challenges like 24 hour writing in two/four days. Depending on how busy you are. Or productivity routines from contemporary or old authors. It's a way to experiment with the way writers work to see if any of their weird or interesting habits might fit our personalities. For example, I like the idea that some writers make exercise in between writing breaks, or they write in a diary, review their diary, and then quote some lines from the diary (not their personal ones) and put them in the mouth of the character they represent in the work. I wonder if Alex is you? I mean, I'd also be interested if you could make a video where you talk about personality types or something similar, and see which one is closest to yours. These are interesting ideas that I think will attract more people to this lovely writing community, because it deserves more than 3,000 subscribers.
14:25 - Tristan and Isolde! I have a similar character in a historical romance Russian-inspired Cinderella novella I wrote back in 2015. I only saw Henry Cavill as that character too ☺ LOL
I got an ergonomic keyboard (the microsoft sculpt) 2 years back and it helped me out so much with finger and wrist pain during long writing/typing sessions. It is more pricey, but I highly recommend it. I handwrite all of my rough drafts just cause its something ive done my whole life, works well with my brain (engages my "writing mode" i guess?). The best part is that typing up the draft pretty much becomes edit #1! But also, I only write like, 1-10k word fanfiction so its not like i have hundreds of pages for a single story 😝
You have validated my constant... plight that I have 2 keyboards. ☺I have a PC and a laptop. The laptop keyboard was dying. My mom got me a great gaming keyboard--its for writing, obviously lol-- and then I found a cute little keyboard at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks. My big keyboard has the nice clickity-clack, and the little one is quiet--no one knows I'm writing when I use it. I feel like a spy when I pull that one out. xD And I concur: Have a planner!
Great video, Tay 😊 I just this second bought venture below. Curious how I’ll feel reading a YA, since I am in no way Y. But wanted to support you. All the best 😊
I have the purple Mofi and I love it!

Oh my gosh, that's a great tip, thank you! The hand written to type up method seems like a great way to go, I might have to try that!💖👀
