  • You can use this method on any doll that has a painted on detail or that you yourself have painted on to keep it from scratching off! And like I say in the video, you can use any brand varnish you can get your hands on, this is just the brand I've been using for years and what's worked for me.

Modpodge gets sticky over time. There’s a plastic top coat that’s really good (not MSC) it’s really good! Thank you for the video

Thank you for the info! I haven't had many things modpodge for long periods so I did not know that, I won't be recommending it anymore lol. What's the plastic top coat? I'd love to try it out

@@dollistic96 It’s Tamiya color for plastics (TS-80) this works on doll bodies but not the face. The face still needs MSC but this works better on plastic ☺

Right?!?!? They put the work into making these super cool painted details and then don't protect them 😅

I wrote a nice comment last night and i guess YT deleted it and i have no idea why anyway. Thank you so much for the Amazing tutorial 🥰 It was Awesome ! Very helpful and i loved how you made it so simple and easy to understand. I can't wait to try it. I am going to get the stuff to do it today if they have it, if not i will order it online. I also bought some of the new ones and want them to last so thank you again i really appreciated it. 😊😊💜💜💖💖💙💙🙏🙏

Great video! Does it work for factory face paint? There are g1 dolls that were not properly sealed and the paint comes off many times just by touching it... What do you recommend?

    • @dollistic96

Thank you! For the face I would suggest thin layers of a matte varnish or some sort of spray sealant like Mr Super Clear UV Cut Flat (or something similar if you can't get ahold of that)

There's a special type of mod podge that's for fabric, you could try that!

I would suggest using a matte or glossy varnish for sealing the lips depending on what finish you want 😊

Is it ok if i use it on the doll's face? Cuz i bought lagoona and i assume it's pretty old cuz the paint on her lips is coming off...

You can definitely use the matte or glossy varnish on your doll's eyes and lips, they can be lifesavers!

Is there anything you can do to touch up small parts that have worn off?

    • @dollistic96

I would suggest using some acrylic paint in the same color to patch whatever parts have worn off
