The sad truth is, when you're not sure it's better to trash it than putting the wrong item into a recycling bin. You do not want to contaminate the rest of the recyclables.
My company has 3 bins as well, including a graph above that explains what to put in each bin. The first time I went to throw out my lunch I experienced that same confusion. Funny skit.
Happy Holidays Wong Fu!
I've seen a can with recycling and trash openings and they both went into the same trash bag lol.
Similarly when those three black bags go to the basement we're expected to believe they'll be identified as different, let alone accurately? Commute in 20 miles and you're from a different waste collection area, with different rules to get wrong.
“Oh I’ll give it to you “ 😂😂😂
gotta love the return of skits like this 😁
WHATS THE YELLOW BIN FOR?!!
you know 😉
i thought its for battery
Please tell us
The real question is where did Taylor go first before getting in line to throw away his stuff?
It's where you throw smiles in for people who need it that day.
The struggle is real though to decide especially when some recycling centres don't recycle everything others do. Great to see Steveioe not on a small rectangle screen and of course pseudo Austin! lol
@hermionepuckle
I was kind of hoping for an educational ending, as I also have no clue how to properly recycle 😂😅
Same! I’m still so confused at work
Fun fact, many years ago I wrote a letter to WongFu asking them to consider using reusables for their lunch talk episodes (I forgot what it’s called) especially when drinking boba. I even sent a package of reusable boba straws. I have never heard back and the lunch episodes continued to feature single use packaging and utensils. This episode is a great start for a more environmentally friendly content, especially now that we’re at a climate crisis and we can no longer ignore big environmental issues. One suggestion though, I wish you added more information about reducing waste and recycling. It’s the first step and I’m happy to see this 😊 perhaps hire a team member who’s truly an environmentalist to help generate more content like this?
whispering "i'm green" 💕💕💕💕
@kawaiiriceball
I wish the video covered tips and resources on how to be more sustainable too. Just adding a disclaimer on where you can check your city's waste collection process and how to reduce single use plastics would already make a huge difference considering you have such a large audience that you reach. And another thing: if you're unsure it's better to just put it in the trash than "wishcycling" (putting something not recyclable in recycling and causing the whole recycling batch to be sent to the landfill).
Lolol, so relatable. When my mother started using separate trash bins like this at home, my father, brother, and brother in-law always asked which item should go to which bin. It indeed gets confusing sometimes! 😂
I hope we see more of Steve working together with you guys on projects. He works well with the Wong Fu production group.
@lycheedrink
The reactions when he’s dealing with the straws 😂
LOVE THE URF
Wes!
Don't Americans have bins specifically for paper and glass? Does everything go in recycling?
Where I'm from we have paper bins, glass bins (sorted by coloured and clear/transparent glass), recycling bins (for plastic and metal) and of course non recyclable waste bins. And it's really normal/common to recycle here. We're being taught how to properly recycle in pre-school.
I feel like it depends on the place? Some will have different bins while others don't. At home though, there are different trash bins (usually 3) for trash, compost and recycle. But in the home, I feel like most people don't separate them properly either.
Ehehehe "f*ing austin" for an Austin that's actually a whole different person? Inconceivable
@Treezy_phan
you guys should make a video explaining those bins!
So relatable 🤣 I never know what to throw in what bin either. Especially when I lived in Taiwan, there were soooo many different bins next to each other
My college have 4-5 bins. I have no idea which go into what LOL
actually companies don't recycle plastics
the sad part about it is that recycling is the worst of the 3 rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) because it still costs energy to recycle. However corporations will emphasize the point to hell and back as it puts the onus on the consumer rather than producers and distributors.
In a lot of cases, recycling can be even worse for the environment that’s the dark, ugly truth. that people don’t like to talk about or educate others. But it sure makes people feel good like they’re making a difference in the world.
@chaatea
It was so fun to see Steve from TikTok work with y'all!! But also super relatable vid - I never know what trash items need to be recycled on which recycling bin 😅
@katrinamberr I love seeing the bloopers. Is Wong Fu (or other channels) hiring by any chance?
once you find out what really goes on it doesn't matter.
It should've been scarlett johansson at the end 😂
@itsamyjen The blooper reel had me on the floor. 😂
Nothing like trying to separate the trash in Korea tho 😀 Next level.
I thought I was good at sorting recycling until I got to Japan and had to figure out their different kinds of trash days. Now my brain still insists that I need to break down a drink bottle into three components. This sketch was so much fun to watch and be reminded of the trauma! (No sarcasm, I loved it ^^) @ladywhiffle
@sincerelysimply - This video was so good hahah! Loved seeing a Steveioe and Wong Fu collab!
@Chi_am look up Japan recycling it's even more confusing 😂
@pansonben
this was way too relatable 😂
@estherphamm we all need a crash course on recycling lol
@carsongiocondo, As an environmental science major, I still get confused on which is compost, trash, and recycle. :)
@Darwin8D Great to see Steve acting! Great stuff!
@sontyv
my apt complex has a separate bin for containers and i'm constantly getting confused as to where things lie on the container-recycling spectrum 😆
Steveio!!! I'll watch WF again for STeveio.
@chinnnxp always love the bloopers! Great to see Steve acting!
@allanbachle
My neighborhood has implemented stricter recycling rules regarding food waste and it's been quite a challenge getting to used to them. Always great to see more relatable content from you guys!
@shi_devil_11 my city uses “single stream recycling” which just makes the risk of contamination so much higher. It’s unfortunate because I will definitely see people in my office put a dirty container in recycling and I have to inform them they need to clean out all the food residue before recycling
@denisecao !!!! we love asian representations! need more of it!!!
@britneyyn "tips from the ER [:recycling]" the collab I didnt know I needed 😌
@silverwind93
I still enjoy your sketches to this day! Thanks for all that you do!
@viviciously
I wish it was made more clear on products for trash sorting and recycling so we wouldn’t have issues like this!
@ilycheeyou
i was so confused when I did a study abroad in Germany and the kitchen had more than one trash can. Plus I didn't really read German at the time, so I totally didn't use the bins correctly :P
Dang it Austin!
@rana.duan
the amount of anxiety I get when I have to sort my trash like this is too real 😭
@cassiengks
Please make a video explaining all these bins!!
@majesticallyxlinda
"F Phil for writing this line" xD
mohaimenak! got the right video this time lol
STEVE!!!!!
@ohheyvickayyy this is so relatable!! always keeping us smiling, Wong Fu :)
@cathy.ko wondering what the two other bins Phil saw at the modern company; was it the smile bin..?
The doctor dude?
I get a bit frustrated with this myself in hk as we see these bins too but when I watch the cleaners go on with the next stage. They literally dump everything together into the same garbage when they take it away. So what’s the point? It’s annoying more difficult to do recycling and such in hk. Just here to vent.
What is the smiley bin for?!?! 🙂
2:56 XD
Damn Austin!!
Should've posted a guide on the wall.
I follow him on YT! He’s so funny 😂
@wendii.lin
I think I’m going to have to do some research how to recycle after this haha 😂
@btaannng won Panda Express from y'all in Atlanta, can I make it a two-peat?
@bengetaninsta
This video is too real 😅 Props to you, Phil, for actually taking the effort to look up which item goes into which bin!
I throw everything in the trashcan. I'm just trying to live. I'm nor trying to stress myself up
being more responsible shouldnt be seen as stress. Just educate yourself on the matter and it wont be stressful, simply natural and worth it.
@cheyenne.y.pepper it’s interesting how waste sorting works in different states too! Moving from west to east coast I noticed less compost bins on the east side :/
Somebody actually make this app
TIPS from the E.R.!
@skyforce95 the U.S. needs to learn how to recycle like Japan!
@marshmoullow
Love these skits. Also love the bloopers 😊
Ambifoto
@claaramk
Lool relatable!! 3:03 gotta be my favourite part hahah so good
My city has an online catalogue for which items go to which bin and even then, sometimes it's hard coming up with the proper terms/names for the items I want to dispose of. Then, there are also like 10+ different categories of plastics. Hard plastics, soft plastics, some recyclable, some not... @jzc13
@choopiggy
this is super relatable!
Mydoggiemascot :)
But for real, what do you do with the slightly, barely dirty recyclable itens after a meal?
@schuumin
@yenjooo
This is my dilemma EvErY single time at a food court 😭
Fucking Austin!
@handrya1 the free promos when you download the app HAHA
I sadly relate so hard 🤣
@raychooooo

taco_belleee
So relatable!
@stephenchang48 was excited to see the spicy ER tech STEVE!
@luo_owen
You should have made this into a skit + lesson! I need to learn what to do as well haha.
Why was this so relatable... Ugh. Lol. @mary28
@eldeeteee
Wait why is this actually relatable tho 😭 I always feel like i’m behind on stuff
@kevilish
I definitely still get confused, even if the bins has pictures above it haha
@kelvindegree TOTE LIFE! iykyk
As someone who grew up in the bay area being taught to recycle/compost, it was such a shock that others in the US don't grow up learning about it.
@beefjeriki
@lilaznmonkey
SOO relatable. STRUGGLES to BE-GREEN😅
@hjpginny
The crossover we all needed!!
@askmewheretoeat
This is too relatable lol
@nabuer
