- Following on from my recent Forza Edition XBox One purchase, I'm now trying to fix up the controller. The Micro USB port is damaged and it's looking a bit shabby.
Let's see if I can fix it!

PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all. I do this for fun, and it may not be the best or safest way to go about repairing broken stuff. I'm pretty good at melting plastic though.

I think MS were aiming for a titanium pedal effect with the triggers, but frankly the regular black ones do look more slick (if you pardon the pun).

Yeah, think you're right. Those silver triggers look like they scuff up very easily, so I'm glad I swapped them out. I should probably invest in the Forza game now, you're right! 🤣
To be honest the controller looks really nice..... but
This is a pretty unique controller. If i had to do this i would have bought new blue thumbsticks and if possible new siler/chrome buttons to make it look original. It is a little bit a pitty that you have changed the look. But hey it is just the opinion from a kraut. It is your controller and your taste. Carry on mate.

I've restored two of these controllers. I'll say this, I've been lucky that the original thumbsticks had minimal wear since the previous owners used thumbstick covers or gamefreaks.
It's definitely not easy to find matching thumbsticks from a 3rd party. The low quality is noticable and the blue is not the right shade of blue. Unfortunately other thumbstick colors do match OEM from other editions.
I use the same Colgate toothbrush.

for used controllers/mice/keyboards and so on i use gloves every time. Because of the "Handschmand" in german, may translate to "handgrease".

I wanted the blue abxy and start/select buttons, otherwise I would have done! I was very tempted, but I'm glad I took them both apart as I really like how it turned out. 👍
