    Opened only days ago in Moscow, Kuzminki Mall really was so intersting to visit. Especially concidering the sactions imposed on Russia in the last 2 years. How does this mall compare to one where you live in the World, let me know.
    Also, join me on Telegram to discuss it further: t.me/travellingwithrussell

      We have different malls (we call them malls) everywhere too. They look pretty much the same, except for the Russian writing. We also have those modern food courts. Seems the malls are giving food courts and common areas a major facelift. Reconstruction everywhere, excited to see the new look. The International Restaurant Association is probably working together to make all malls look similar all over the world. 🌎 🌍

    Russians like to walk and go shopping on the way. I like that I can leave the house and go one way or the other. Two shopping malls nearby is good. People will buy something in one, and something in the other. Many of us do not buy everything in one place. they are looking for the best price, quality and assortment. Remember that even on the ground floor of one house there may be several shops and pharmacies.

Whether it's in the AI field, food production, clothing chip making etc. Is that the right assesment of Russia today? I am not sure about manufacturing or those sorts of fields. Russia makes a lot of things already; they just don't mention or advertise it that much. Even when you look at this mall, and the amount of locally made parts of it. In a supermarket, as much as 90% of the goods are from local suppliers.

    • @julz6549
      @julz6549 Місяць тому +37

      The thing with Russia and Russians is that we are bad at PR, at all. Boasting is considered quite bad-mannered, so people and even companies keep silence quite often. There are plenty of factories, manufacturers and others that produce cool stuff, we just may not even know this stuff is Russian-made. The second thing is the companies often tend to name their products in western style using English titles, so even if the product is 100% Russian it looks like it was imported (tea, creams, other stuff) that also made ppl confused.

    I would've gone broke at that North Ossetian's meat stand (not big on horse or Buffalo - the OTHER meats looked amaaaaaazing). And the cheese one. Neat mall - did I miss it, or is there a Teremok in their food court (now I'm fighting the urge to go buy frozen Pelmeni and Manti to make for dinner LOL Sadly - here in the US malls are pretty much extinct. The few left are either 80% empty and VERY depressing to even go into... OR... sad to say, are extremely dangerous. You stand a very, VERY good chance of either getting mugged or harassed by gangs of teens. In the last decade I may have been to a mall... twice? Once to get a watch battery replaced, the other just to see what they're like now. Most new big shopping centres in our area are open-air streets with business and apartments on the upper floors. HEJ... if I may make a request... I'd like to see a video or 10 on bookstores in Russia. They've become incredibly rare here in the US, everyone either orders books off Amazon or - MORE OFTEN - reads via Kindle (as I'm getting older, I find it SO nice to be able to increase the font size as my eyes tire LOL). There's a Barnes & Noble store near us that's 3/4 coffee shop, toys, games, DVDs, etc., and 1/4 actual BOOKS lol

За рулем читать неудобно. А потом появился Iphone. Теперь все пассажиры в метро сидят уткнувшись носом в свои смартфоны.

Specially, the indoor ones but you guys love those climate controlled shopping malls out there in Russia. Well you need them. Thanks, Russell.

      @@Lavithz In Russia people can or also buy things online and have it delivered to them at home but sometimes its good to go out and walk and also go to stores by yourself, That's why they're few obesity people in Russia and lots of fat or should I say lots of truck looking people here in the US due to obesity.

    have been following this channel for a long time and noticed that here in Finland, a small city of 150 thousand inhabitants (Jyväskylä) has many similar shopping centers as in Moscow of 12 million. In fact, we have eight large shopping centers and a few smaller ones in the center.
    Of course, there are bigger and more cities in Moscow, but it's no wonder when you compare the population.
