RASSZKAZOVKA MEANS STORY TAILING place - three are associations with library!
#1 Water pressure is the reason most of the time.
#2 Second reason is for airports/airplanes
#3 Third reason is the view or aesthetics of a city.

Thanks for the video friend. 🙂
I just read @vidoslogmos reply.
He is right about the ladders in old city's. Both ladders and water are needed to fight fires.
Back in the day, it was easier to build out, than up. As building tech gets better it is easier to build up. It becomes worth the price for the buildings in some locations.
The answer of "why in Soviet times they built many 5-story, 9-story and 12-story buildings" is:
1) Different SNIP (construction norms and rules) requirements for 6-9 story buildings and 10+ story buildings. For example, 6+ requires elevators alongside with staircase and most 5-story buildings was built in 20-50s when elevators was not produced in much quantities. And 10+ requires TWO elevators alongside with staircase and anti-fire balconies and so on. Communications issue and more and more. So, its not true, as many people say that: "its cheap". Cities was built in one Grand plan, not by free market, so, there is no money-penalty, only a common sense of what we CAN build right now and what we can't.
2) Insolation to Area of building ratio. It was calculated that ideal is 9-story buildings with spacing of 2 wides of them for normal insolation for every floor. Again, its not like soviet planners could spam buildings everywhere, there was SNIPs and so on.
3) Standartisation. When they designed one ideal (for the time, for a year or 5) building - they may want to use its design instead of designing every single building.
So, thats why there was many identical buildings and they all was 5 and 9 story tall. In later USSR they was able to build 12-story and more unique plans was designed those times. I'm an architect student in Russia and i love to dive deep in soviet era and see how mesmerising their planning techniques was in comparison to nowadays one rule: "Plan according to SNIP but make it Cheap" cuz of, you know, capitalism.
A lot of neobolshevik orc's there, be careful

After living here for more than 3 years now, i realized we've been lied to in America about Russia and its people. Almost Everything here when it comes to quality of life is so much better. The transport systems are so good you really dont need a car to get around unless you want one. The more progress Russia makes the more the Western oligarchy wants to contain it.
It's been for CENTURIES. It's not something new. Russia always was a problem for evil forces. Concerning progress, it's hilarious how some countries are called DEVELOPED and others UNDEVELOPED or even FAILED. It's so rude and simply is not true!

Mother Russia loves all kind people. It's a great idea to visit Russia. Cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Grozny, Sochi. You will not be left without positive emotions. Naturally, in any city there are dark places, in any country in the world there are robbers, and in Russia they exist. You just need to follow safety precautions. This is very funny 🤣🤣
You wrote your comment under the video in which Russell ALREADY shows you the future that, as you say, Russia does not have. :)
You wrote that Russia is a “big gas station,” although the share of oil and gas revenues in the country’s budget is 35%. This is one third.
You wrote: "...you have nothing...", but:
1. Only 4 countries in the world can produce passenger aircraft. And Russia is one of them.
2. Only 4 countries in the world are capable of launching a person into space. And Russia is one of them.
3. Only 2 countries in the world have mastered hypersonic technologies. And Russia... what? - also one of them.
....
And this list can go on for a very long time...
P.S. Such nonsense as you wrote could only be written by someone who hates Russia and has not been to it for a very long time.

Iyov 36:5 - Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB)
See, El is Kabir, and despiseth, not any; He is Kabir in ko’ach lev (strength of understanding).
Translation: Supreme God is Kabir, but despises no one. He is Kabir, and firm in his purpose.
In all Bible translations, the word Kabir has been translated as "Mighty" or "Great" whereas Kabir is the original name of Supreme God.
Conclusion: This verse of the Bible proves that Kabir is Complete God. The one who worships God Kabir by taking initiation from the complete saint sent by him gets complete salvation. After attaining salvation that souls rest in peace in the eternal abode Satlok forever. The throne of God is in Satlok.
God Kabir met Jesus and took his soul to Satlok. On their way, God Kabir made him see his ancestors David, Moses, Abraham, etc. in the Pitra Lokas. Then God took him to Satlok😊😊

"Bookshelves" at Rasskazovka are not just an accident. It's a wordplay based on the name of the station. Russian rasskaz (рассказ) in a narrow sense means short story (literary genre) and in a broad sense it means 'narrative'.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this awesome video of Russia. I soooooo mush love the way they tattooed those various Russian iconic fighter jets and planes on those walls reminding them and their kids of the achievements. Just look at that amazing Sukhoi Jet hanging up there. This is what patriotism is.
A mock-up of the TU-144 aircraft is hanging. This is not Sukhoi but Tupolev. This is a jet passenger aircraft, which was produced in the USSR. Unfortunately, it is no longer there, as is the western Concord. they were too uneconomical and expensive.
Wow awesome! Incomparably superior to the decrepit and dangerous subways in the decadent west, like New York City's!

Thanks for that excellent info. Brilliant Russian town planners, indeed! ❤

There are three usual explanations:
1. In the USSR, mostly 9-story houses were built for the reason that their height corresponded to the height of a mechanized fire engine ladder - 28 meters, respectively, it did not extend above the ninth floor.
2. The next reason is GOSTs, which regulate, in particular, that a 9-story building must have an elevator, and if there are more floors - 10, 12, and so on - then the number of elevators increases, and this leads to an increase in construction costs and subsequent repairs . In addition to an additional elevator, tall buildings require smoke removal systems and an evacuation route - more time and money are required to build such infrastructure, and the cost of apartments increases.
VERY GOOD..SPACIBO!

Each our metro station has elevators, we can't imagine our metro without them, and all new stations also have lifts. And toilettes. You should just know where you should go for them, they are usually nearby))
16:54 - on the floor of new stations there is not dirt from the street, but dust from concrete. Usually stations are cleaned before opening, but for some time there is dust from recent installation works and so on. This dust will be finally removed and the floor will be shiny (it is washed every day after the subway closes).
I wish we had such love given to our subway stations in the U.S.
Subway in the US (at least in NYC) is privately owned. So capitalism + monopoly won’t let it get any better.
)@@user-gy8ib3rw2s
First of all, your president should treat his citizens with love. And only then will positive changes begin in your country and the metro will be better than in Russia or Belarus.

@uis246 It's a lifesaver for those who use cars instead of public transport, and they're generally not an issue for pedestrians. Moreover, Moscow Central Diameters are being opened, which are like Chords, but for pedestrians. They mostly run on existing suburban train lines, but significantly faster and affordable.
Yes, affordable. For just 50 cents you can use Moscow Metro, MCD and MCL for 90 minutes without paying anything extra. You can even go to point a, go to point b and then return home if you manage to fit all of that in 90 minutes (it's very impressive how fast you can travel in Moscow).
