I think hip-hop needed a reset, and some say Kendrick and Drake may have messed it up for some artist, however Kendrick removed the licensing from the not like us song so other Contant creators in the average every day, black man and woman can eat off of that song salute to kendrick
He did that so as many people can hear it as possible it's so petty you have to love it other people eating off of it is just a happy byproduct😂
The biggest reset is NOT coming from Drake and Kendrick. It's gonna come from the prospects of Diddy going to prison, and then if Jay Z and Dr. Dre follow him. That is going to make rap change forever. No one will ever rap about mistreating women again. The stuff Snoop and them used to rap about in the 90s will no longer be accepted.

I don’t think the mainstream is given Kendrick the credit that he deserves for having that much of an impact on the hip-hop genre… I’ve been noticing a lot of hate and I think it’s because of some people having a bias against the West Coast

The narrative gives it credit, although Kendrick is a selling artist, and I'm not being biased every single record is doing what what it's doing because of Drake, let's be honest like that is a hit without Kendrick but it got inflated because Kendrick dissed drake and Cole, I don't think euphoria, 6:16 in La, meet the grahams, have the same impact without involving drake, Family matters was inevitable didn't have to be a diss to do what it was going to do, I don't think drake was going to benefit noteriety wise from this battle because it was nothing for him to gain other than sales, because he is already at the top, no slight in Kendrick I was a fan during good kid mad city, I even liked the album damn, everything else wasn't really for me, but he definitely got the bars, but we got to call a spade a spade Kendrick pulled a drake on drake, I just like the fact that in a couple weeks time, we finally got a Kendrick and drake project

“Not like us” was and is still completely garbage, and I think Drake has been mediocre lately. The average consumer eats McDonald’s everyday, so I really can’t trust their opinion on any of this. We need actual rappers who are sonically cohesive INCLUDING their beat selection. Kendrick has been trash this entire time, and sounds like a lobster with a lung disease whenever he raps. Running trash like this through an SSL, focusrite, or Neve board is outright embarrassing.
