At the end of the "Not Like Us" music video, the owl trapped in the cage means that Kendrick has authority over Drake. I also think that this is a symbolizes the poem "Caged Birds" by Maya Angelou because one verse of this poem says, "but a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing." In this case, Drake is the bird who is trapped in the cage, suffering, and can only sing. Kendrick walks away, while the owl stays caged.
I know this isn't related to the lyrics, but I wanted to mention it, not only because I saw it on a Reddit post, but also the fact that I read the poem and got my personal take from this scene.
