Watching this video brings back memory back then when I watched this on TV with my late father..We were so excited when Rossi won by overtaking Lorenzo in the last corner.

Rossi is a magician. The hype is real, I dislike the haters who say he isn't the GOAT...
Whenever someone asks if they should watch F1 or MotoGP, I always reference this race as arguably the greatest I've ever seen. I've been watch F1 since I was 5 and MotoGP since i was 13. And this sport easily takes the cake for action! Rossi is the GOAT!

nah, assen is way better. 100+ overtake, 8 different leader. 10-12 pack of riders chasing in the top group. iirc, in this race rossi and lorenzo was miles away from third place.
Laguna Seca 2008 I think is also a good one

As a Lorenzo's fan, I am so excited motogp uploaded this video. This is super epic battle. The way Rossi overtaking Lorenzo in the last lap and the last corner is amazing super masterclass and he is the maestro of late braking.

Two of the best passes in racing: Rossi's knee tuck at 1st corner of penultimate lap and last corner pass invented by Rossi.

Sure, in recent years Dovi and Marc had many intense battles for the race victory, but this race still has the most intense battle for the race victory in the MotoGP history.
Check out the final lap of the 2011 British Superbike Championship, Tommy Hill vs John Hopkins. Whichever one wins the race also wins the championship. Decided by 0.006 seconds.

Epic stuff! I still remember this race as if it was yesterday.
This brings a tear to my eye, the passion is powerful! Soul stirring!
I was there, with 2 other friends, all the way from belgium as 3 rossi fans in a majority lorenzo stand.
I will never forget that the last 3 laps we couldn't hear the bikes anymore, just the crowd going INSANE.
We saw from 150m away those last corners with that impossible manouvre from Rossi, it was absolutely mental.
Also, i will never forget that right after rossi won the race we got tapped on the back. We where anticipating a spanish fist to our faces, but in stead we ended up hugging 5 sweaty spaniards (including 1 very pretty girl) who we did not know and where obvious Lorenzo fans.
This. Was. Epic.
When Rossi came on Lorenzo's back to deliver the legendary move the knee tuck.

Back when there were less electronic controls and noone could brake deep like Rossi
There were tons of electronic controls even then, the 800cc era was renowned for it.
Rossi could brake that way because that was probably the best M1 ever produced and he'd had years to perfect to his liking, sort like the Honda is now Marquez's bike.
I think electronics were actually more sophisticated back then lol.

Maybe you should ask to any of the electronic engeneer working in the paddocks about how much is grown the impact of the electronics controls, sensors, rear axle control, etc etc since 2007-09 to what they have in the last 5 years.
@@ave92me we have a control ecu now as well, no more custom factory electronics.
There were electronics then and there still are now. Braking deep is probably the area least affected by electronics as even now it mainly comes down to how skilled the rider is at finding the ultimate limit of braking, how big their cojones are and how balanced the bike is under breaking.
Look at MM braking in the 14-15 years, he has the bike sideways before he even arrives at the corner under full braking, thats skill, not electronics.

It's races like this that cemented Rossi as the GOAT. Everyone thought it was going to be Lorenzo who was going to win the race, but he just created magic on that last corner.
